Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

How do, all! I know of that place only by the ubiquitous bumper stickers.

They sell fireworks, very popular.

Hi folks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Webhamster Henry:

@ListenerJames yes - I think they used to stick them on bumpers without permission, using wires, and had billboards for like 50 miles in both directions on US 1. (This is a memory from 1968 or so)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Webhamster Henry:

Everyone here probably heard this show, but just in case you're reading from the archives, here are Amirtha Kidambi and Lea Bertucci live on last Monday's Vocal Fry.
Avatar 3:11pm david w:

hello, doctor and Henry and yes, South of the Border was a marketing wonder for its time.
Avatar 3:17pm Sem:

Hello, David, and all. Winter wonderland here, first real snow of the season.
Avatar 3:19pm david w:

Nice, Sem. Still waiting for the first one here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm chresti:

Hello! Home from work..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm fred:

Good afternoon David, Ruth and all listening
Avatar 3:51pm david w:

Hello, chresti. Hello, fred. Lots of tease and ecstatic finishes today.
Avatar 3:52pm david w:

And drum solos, apparently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm fred:

Exciting but eventually disappointing (for me) news: a show later this month has a project featuring Ikue Mori, and another with both Nate Wooley and Mary Halvorson. But I already have a ticket to see Lucinda Childs that day (a piece I haven't seen, with music by David Lang)
Avatar 4:00pm david w:

Stellar list, fred. Hard to choose but you have to get your dance fix!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm fred:

I like this
Avatar 4:15pm david w:

A very good pairing, and they have plans for more I was glad to hear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm fred:

Arrington de Dionyso is quite easily identifiable
Avatar 4:36pm Sem:

Heard some Mongolian metal music recently, plenty of throat singng. It seems a very guttural language, maybe the lyrics were particulalrly chosen?
Avatar 4:37pm david w:

Yeah, fred... and everybody else is scrambled into the mix and they all change instruments here and there.
Avatar 4:38pm david w:

Mongolian metal? This I must hear!
Avatar 4:41pm david w:

I have no idea who the electric guitarist is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm fred:

@Sem: It does seem guttural, but throat singing is still something else. The long song, my fave singing style from Mongolia, isn't guttural at all. Here's a sample from my favorite singer, Byambajargal Gombodorj: youtu.be...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm WR:

I was just about to ask about the guitarist. And what is the venue you mentioned for tomorrow, Jan. 8 event? And hello all.
Avatar 4:44pm Sem:

David: go here, they are streaming their inaugral album. www.thehuofficial.com

fred, I'm on it. Thx.

I try to help folks in the transition from noisy madness to dreamy madness...
Avatar 4:51pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I'm def. doing it all dreamy today, all new too.
Avatar 4:52pm david w:

Saw that. Number 694. Wow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm WR:

At 1665 Norman St? What is the time for the event, don't see it on the calendar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm fred:

@Sem: A word of caution if you google that singer's name: many results show some highly questionable choices in musical arrangement
Avatar 4:54pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I'm going to introduce my multi-dimensional episode numbering scheme too. It's gotten too complex for a single number.
Avatar 4:55pm david w:

@WR: yes, 8pm. Hope to see you! Find us.
Avatar 4:55pm Martinibomb:

I put on an 8min song so I could come here. Hello Kenzo and David W, Fred, Sem etc...
Avatar 4:55pm Sem:

Noted, w/ thanks.

See and hear you next time, David & Co., and all.
