A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Rock, I was influenced by sci-fi writer Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy when I chose that "avatar."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37am Phillippe Bastille:

We've had poisonous snakes (copperheads) in the yard here in Annapolis. A neighbor's dog got bit by one, but survived. A different neighbor got bit while weeding. We always wear heavy leather gloves and boots when doing yard work now.

Love that Radio Rethink's thumbnail for this Tammy is the CD single cover of "Justified and Ancient" by the KLF.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am sphere:

@ Rock Ridge - if you like the board game, you might want to read the Kim Stanley Robinson trilogy because it's all about terraforming Mars. the books were probably an influence on the game.
  10:00am ?:

Funny little drip drop
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am Webhamster Henry:

I have a different vocabulary record set - but I like how this one swaps voices and the examples are pretty lively!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am Rock Ridge Chess Club:

@sphere I'll do it. I've been needing something different to read. All these current events and nonfiction can be a drag.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07am Ike:

Is it just me, or are these vocabulary words too easy? But I'm in an editorial liine of work, so of course I would say that.

  10:09am Morphe':

Trouble: Wee Simon of 8.5 was goofily reverbalizing yer "like, like, like.."
I was pedantically explaining that Trouble is intelligent and goofing and doesn't
really speak like that.."
Before I could finish he said to me - super sarcastically -
"I KNOW THAT!!!"
Avatar 10:09am Trouble:

@ike the vocab record is from 1971: things were different then
Avatar 10:16am Trouble:

that is excellant @'morphe", the children know!
  10:16am Listener Gregory:

I tried to make plans to see the Rothko Chapel in Houston, but it has been closed for months and will be closed until the spring (they hope) sometime. Renovations.
  10:18am Morphe':

Rock Ridge: I get so much painful nonfiction in my life - I now (more or less) only read fiction - Still painful, but one step beyond....
Great Non-Fiction:
HIDDEN LIFE OF TREES; WOHLLEBEN, Peter..
The life of forests!!!! The author is a forester in Germany.

Has anyone checked out Third Man Records' magazine Maggot Brain? The inaugural issue has Alice Coltrane on the cover. It looks in line with Grand Royal, Arthur and early Wax Poetics. Has anyone read it yet? It looks legit but I'm always a little leery about "in house" promotion.
