Are we going to hear Green Day and Alanis Morrisette? Apparently that's what's going on right now...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm Nate K.:

No Green Day or Alanis from me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm Nate K.:

Happy New Year, folks. Thanks for hanging out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm ultradamno:

It would be ironic, I think

Thanks for being here Nate!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm ultradamno:

Anti-alcoholics are unfortunates in the grip of water, that terrible poison, so corrosive that out of all substances it has been chosen for washing and scouring, and a drop of water added to a clear liquid like Absinthe, muddles it.

Happy new year WFMU! Thanks everyone

Birds fly low, eating the corn.
Running, screaming naked helps to scare them higher, as they pick hair spitefully, painfully.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm ultradamno:

Salt n Pepa and Paula Abdul have performed, is this New Years or a State Fair?
  10:04pm upstate sean:

Happy new year Nate, everyone

The W is silent? Mind. Blown.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm mariano:

It's "CHIZZ-ik" right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm ultradamno:

...and at least one Dum Dum Girls
  10:12pm kev:

hi Nate,I'm burning it down in the backyard, big brush pile, listening on my phone. Happy New year burners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm Nate K.:

"Chizz-ick," yes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm mariano:

I think I know that because as a young Who fan I learned that Chiswick was their hood in London and I heard them saying it in an interview at some point.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm ultradamno:

I have a 20/20 badge. I'm not sure why, I never owned one of their records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm Nate K.:

Is it just a simple 20/20 white on black?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm Richard S:

Hello again!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm ultradamno:

Yeah, that's it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm ultradamno:

Avatar 10:39pm late for class:

i learned recently that Dennis drowned trying to dive for belongings that had been tossed overboard from where his boat was previously docked years prior to the day he died.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm ultradamno:

I thought I heard the bed music bleeding in...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm Nate K.:

@Ultra, it was . . . Fixed now
  11:02pm JakeGould:

Hey Nate! My end of year resolution was to finally refinish some furniture of mine. Achievement done. Now I can just roll through 2020.

Also, I drink water.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm ultradamno:

Parasite. Then Us.
  11:13pm BH:

I'm now playing "Twenty-Twenty Surgery" by Taking Back Surgery, despite it being 10:13pm local time here and not being 2020 yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm mariano:

Wow. Pam Grier. Rewatched Jackie Brown recently for the first time in years, forgot how good it is. She was the standout of several standout performances.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm ultradamno:

I also enjoyed Jarmusch's zombie movie, The Dead Don't Die, kind of a pisstake but a lot of fun. I feel similarly about Booksmart. But Parasite and Us were the only two I went to see more than once. I'm pretty much in the tank for Bong Joon Ho and Parasite's his best since Mother.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm TomDash:

Happy New Year, Nate and fellow burners! I chickened out on the New Years shift after ya, but will see ya on the other side!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27pm ultradamno:

By the way, if anyone has opinion about best song called Living In The 80s, I put up a poll twitter.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm ultradamno:

Kind of goes to what was being said earlier about the new decade being the first in awhile that's easy to say. There are no Living In The Noughts songs really.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Richard S:

The downside is we're going to get too many "Roaring 20s" comments.
Avatar 11:34pm Hubig Pie:

Happy New Year WFMU people
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm Richard S:

Hippo Gnu Yarrr!
  11:40pm MUWFinMA:

Something about the music
  11:44pm BH:

I suspect that the phrase "Boring 20s" won't fare great over the next 10 years
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm ultradamno:

Got to love a rap act that works 'circumference' and 'apex' into their flow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm melinda:

hi folks! One of my favorite de La Souls!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm ultradamno:

I'm hoping for Bloaring 20s as the band Bloar asserts dominance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm mariano:

Ooooh, Legal Man, love this one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm ultradamno:

That Steely Dan sample is just forced in there, isn't it?
  11:47pm BH:

Bloar sounds like the name of a band that is embroiled in a royalties lawsuit with Blur.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm ultradamno:

Probably why they changed their name from Bloor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm Amanda:

Happy New Year Nate and all listening! Let’s make this year NICE
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Richard S:

"Return to Normalcy" 20s?
Naah, that's been done
  11:50pm BH:

there was a period of time when I thought that The Verve and the Verve Pipe were the same band. I did not know that the two bands were from different countries because I was young in the 90s
  11:53pm BH:

a hat tip to the several people who are listening to WWV because they want to know exactly when it's officially midnight. Also congrats to WWV and WWVH on another year of not being defunded.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm Nate K.:

@BH, I can relate to that confusion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm Nate K.:

Hey @amnaz!
  11:54pm kev:

still burning this is like junior high for me Happy New year thx Nate

From Grampy spacey tina: The still-got-pimples-but-gotta-go-to-work '20s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm ultradamno:

I can recall having a T-Shirt for the Aus. band X that came with the At Home With You album and after awhile I just stopped correcting people who thought it was for the LA band.
  11:55pm BH:

Pretty sure the Verve couldn't have just changed their band name to avoid paying Mick and Keith "Bittersweet Symphony" royalties (I think that the Stones fixed that sometime in 2018)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm Richard S:

The "Welcome to Adult Responsibility" 20s.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm mariano:

Alright, all you Eastern time folks reddeh?
  11:58pm BH:

on checking Wikipedia, I didn't know that the English Beat (The Beat) also had an Australia-only name ("The British Beat")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm Michael 98145:

Imagine. Happy New Year, Friends. ⚡
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm mariano:

@BH- didn't know that either, interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm ultradamno:

Angels/Angel City Angel were discussed here last week.
  11:59pm BH:
