Avatar 2:08pm Mr Fab:

Was happy to meet Jean Jacques Perrey in person. Same night I met Otis Fodder and Spacebrother Greg, actually.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm ARB:

just sent Rebecca a message about it, thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Otis Fodder:

Crazy great night, last time I was in Hollywood (or the LA area), 2006.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm chresti:

Howdy, moog time!
Avatar 2:10pm Martinibomb:

I still whistle this Dick Hyman record.. really early score I got when I was teen Love this record
Avatar 2:10pm Ursula1000:

Avatar 2:11pm Martinibomb:

My piano teacher studied with Dick
Avatar 2:11pm Franco Twinkie:

Barnyard In Space please!
Avatar 2:11pm Mr Fab:

My fave Dick Hyman track. Tho something tells me this whole show is gonna be "fave tracks." I was quite the Moog record hound. Back when they had no collector's value, I'd buy every one i saw.
Avatar 2:11pm Martinibomb:

I been watching some of his piano/moog jams on utube and also someone uploaded some of his video lessons
Avatar 2:11pm Ursula1000:

^ good one!
Avatar 2:13pm Ursula1000:

yeah my Moog LP collection is kinda ridiculous---so much fun!
Avatar 2:17pm Ursula1000:

killer break
Avatar 2:17pm Mr Fab:

When i started buying these records, the Moog era was only 20 years prior. So I guess used record stores looked at them the way we might look at all those "String Quartet Tribute To - " or Crazy Frog CDs. Yesterday's novelties, straight to the bargain bin. Worked for me!
Avatar 2:17pm Martinibomb:

I really wanted a synth around 10 took me 2 yrs to save. Got a DX100 FM and it sounded nothing like moog.. like how do I program all these "operators"
Avatar 2:18pm Mr Fab:

I put together a collection for my old blog called "Moog Breakbeats," and yup, this was on it.
Avatar 2:19pm Ursula1000:

I was living in Miami when I started grabbing these albums used---all the retiree audio files would dump these and all the crazy stereo panning records for like nada---made out like a bandit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm chresti:

Is there such a thing as a dance step called "The Moog"?
Avatar 2:20pm Ursula1000:

there should be damn it!
Avatar 2:20pm Martinibomb:

I could see Miami being great for that kinda digging yup
Avatar 2:21pm Mr Fab:

Dang chresti, there should be! We need some original Sheena's Jungle Room dance crazes. Any choreographers out there that can create The Moog?
Avatar 2:22pm Ursula1000:

Miami thrifting was great for labels like Phase 4 Stereo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm ARB:

I'm visualizing it as the neck leading the way
Avatar 2:25pm Mr Fab:

All i can imagine is The Robot, but needs to more mod.
Avatar 2:26pm Ursula1000:

and your hands twiddling ghost knobs!
Avatar 2:27pm Ursula1000:

Bolan's rolling in his grave---sorry Marc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm chresti:

Jumpin' Jeepster!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm ARB:

beyond groovy here!
Avatar 2:28pm Mr Fab:

"your hands twiddling ghost knobs" - haha, and plugging/unplugging cords.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm ARB:

have you heard that experimental t rex tribute album called "great jewish music"? on john zorn's label? this could be on there
Avatar 2:29pm Ursula1000:

no---that sounds insane! gotta find that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm ARB:

fantomas does chariot choogle
Avatar 2:31pm Ursula1000:

the Mike Patton group?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm ARB:

Avatar 2:33pm Mr Fab:

That album's going on my look-for list. I think there was a similar Zorn tribute to Serge Gainsbourg that I should also check out while I'm at it.
Avatar 2:34pm Franco Twinkie:

A good moog workout that doesn't get much notice is Lonesome Electric Turkey by The Mothers from Fillmore East 1971. Don Preston was/is a master.
Avatar 2:35pm Ursula1000:

His Morricone one is awesome
Avatar 2:38pm Mr Fab:

Ooh, thx for the tip, Franco. Will check that out. Wonder if that was the same show where John & Yoko appeared (as documented on "Somewhere in NYC"?)
Avatar 2:39pm Franco Twinkie:

Yes, that was the show.
Avatar 2:40pm Mr Fab:

"Spn of My Father" = Giorgio Moroder, the early years
Avatar 2:41pm Ursula1000:

yep---always fooling around w electronics it seems--he has some killer junkshop glam singles under the name Spinach

Avatar 2:49pm Ursula1000:

Mini Moog ---classic sound!
Avatar 2:49pm Martinibomb:

I have a juno106 I found in a trash can about 25yrs ago little beat up still works
Avatar 2:50pm Martinibomb:

I also found an ARP String Ensemble in a trash can once hah!
Avatar 2:50pm Martinibomb:

That's my kind of garbage
Avatar 2:50pm Ursula1000:

who did you live by? Rick Wakeman?
Avatar 2:51pm Martinibomb:

I think maybe so? Picked up a Sequential Circuits for $15 once at a yard sale too heh
Avatar 2:52pm Mr Fab:

Rick Wakeman's mom. "Ricky, i told you to clean up your room! Right, I'll just toss out this mess..."
Avatar 2:53pm Franco Twinkie:

Beaver and Krause played the moog on Daily Nightly I think.
Avatar 2:53pm Mr Fab:

I thought Mickey Dolenz hisself did? Or maybe he claimed to.
Avatar 2:54pm Franco Twinkie:

This is my favorite Eno!
Avatar 2:54pm Ursula1000:

I always wondered who did play on that Monkees track
Avatar 2:54pm Ursula1000:

yeah Eno goes bananas on this one! so good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

last night at Drrrty Queeraoke all the songs i did would have been perfect for Sheena's Jungle Room! Especially "Nice and Sleazy" and "X Offender."
Avatar 2:55pm Franco Twinkie:

Mr. Fab. Maybe. But if that is the case, Beaver and Karause showed him how.
Avatar 2:57pm Mr Fab:

Ha, GST, I def know I added "Nice n Sleazy" to the Sheena stream. And if I haven't added "X Offender," I certainly should.
Avatar 2:58pm Mr Fab:

I don't remember Moog on this song?
Avatar 2:58pm Franco Twinkie:

Jimmy Destri was great.
Avatar 2:59pm Ursula1000:

cue in killer mini moog solo now...
Avatar 3:00pm Mr Fab:

Ah, there it is!
Avatar 3:00pm Mr Fab:

Like "Lucky Man," they make you wait for the Moog break.
Avatar 3:01pm Ursula1000:
