my experience walking, upstate ny, then driving down to ct was lovely (except the cops of course) - all the trees coated with ice with sun shining through it, diffracting...

Hei, huomenta! Your weather in Suomi sounds much like several Christmases here in the Pacific Northwest - we've had some pretty lousy wind/snow/ice storms with extended power outages too. This year is just likely to be wet, but it will probably be a pretty quiet Joulua here.
