Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

chresti! Schell! Sem! And Stanley in armour, welcome!
Avatar 3:15pm Schell:

Is this composer Catalan? Guessing based on the first name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm david w:

Born in Valencia. Does that help?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm chresti:

Could be Basque, too
Avatar 3:27pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Please stick around after David's show, because it'll be the debut of the Dynamic Playlists 202020 at 5pm ET, and I'll need lots of testers, so we can debug this before it's launched widely WFMU-wide.

That'll be here: (already doing some testing there now) wfmu.org...
Avatar 3:32pm Schell:

Yeah Valencia is in Catalonia. The name is in that funny Catalan half-French/half-Spanish mold
Avatar 3:33pm Schell:

It's got the Spanish double L to start the word then the French C with a Cedilla.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm fred:

Good afternoon David, Ruth and listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm david w:

Hello to you, Fred from our drummer den.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm fred:

I think the only two I've seen live are Kevin Shea and Che Chen. And I missed 75 dollar bill this Sunday because of the still ongoing transit strike
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm david w:

Aaaargh. 75 Dollar Bill is wonderful live (and the new album too).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm fred:

Last dance show of the year tomorrow, a bitter relief as I'm getting tired of walking so much. Especially after a nasty fall on Monday just before a show. I had to walk 6 miles with blood dribbling down a leg afterward, but I did see that show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm david w:

I don't think I've walked more than a mile in ten years, and never bloody. Take care, Fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Ike:

Sounds good. Oh and wow, that "snow squall" alert thing on my phone wasn't wrong. I'm in Newark and all of the sudden it's a low-visibility blizzard here with actual accumulation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm david w:

Wow, I'll have to peek outside here in Queens. It must be coming this way!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm fred:

Mary Wing should MC a DING! show sometimes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm david w:

Three of a Ding!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Ike:

Squall didn't last long. Been over for several minutes now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm david w:

Yep, we got it here now! Thanks for the heads up Ike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Stanley:

Well this has been interesting and at times trance-like.
I hardly noticed the time passing.
Thanks for the show, once again, David
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm david w:

Thanks, Stanley. This was one where you could put it in the background, or really sit back and turn up the headphones. Either way. Glad you liked it!
Avatar 4:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Please come test the brand-new Dynamic Playlists 202020! And listen to sound collage. We need your help today! wfmu.org...
