Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm Sid:

  9:26pm choggie:

HELL YEAH! ONE MORE TIME!!
  9:28pm Firebottle:

Did somebody from this band die?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm mariano:

True, no need to embiggen "alright" to "all right".

Good evening EFD and Funksters! Breaking my too long silence be cause today is a very special day: it began with EFD on Wake & Bake, and now it’s ending with EFD!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Sid:

EFD, Frampton's Wind of Change came out in 1972.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm Doug in JC:

coelacanth: I'd say solid 1990 and on
Avatar 9:40pm herb.nyc:

Ann was in Pulsalama. Now, what tv comedy was Ann Magnuson a regular on? I watched half an episode.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41pm efd:

@Sid, thanks for that -- I just realized that, weirdly, the inner sleeve of my copy is from the Frampton album so that's why it had a 1975 date!
  9:41pm Listener Bop Monroe:

was re-caulking the edging of the bathtub.
great soundtrack Mr.EFD.

thnx!
  9:43pm Listener Bop Monroe:

A founding member of the 1980s band Bongwater, she starred in the ABC sitcom Anything but Love (1989–92). Her film appearances include The Hunger (1983), Making Mr. Right (1987), Clear and Present Danger (1994), Panic Room (2002), and One More Time (2015). She also guest-starred on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless in 2013.
Avatar 9:43pm coelacanth∅:

Doug thanks but it's actually easily possible that i've never heard it! i guess i should check it out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm Sid:

Wind of Change, the first Frampton solo album. Kudos on playing Alright, the last track of the original LP. Good stuff.
  9:43pm Listener Bop Monroe:

thnx wiki!
Avatar 9:45pm Roberto:

Aww damn I remember now, she got her neck snapped in Clear and Present Danger. Oof!

At the Archive of Contemporary Music sale (ends 12/22, 11-6pm *everyday*, TriBeCa), I overheard a man mention Chandra. I told him of their Evan appearance. And show that night. He was thinking of going. I hope he did.

Ahhh, Ann Magnuson was the realtor in Panic Room. Now I can retire with my mind at peace.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm mariano:

If it were French it would me mèmes though...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm efd:

a circumflex over that e. I believe, if we're picking nits :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Sid:

Même chose?
Avatar 10:03pm herb.nyc:

Haha, the incorrekt pronunciation of Memes made me think of tv show In Living Color. The 2 way gay movie critics, and they reviewed "A Few Good Mens". Hilarious. / wow, great song by Sasha Bell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm mariano:

Même = same, but mème = internet meme.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm Sid:

Took French in middle & high school. Drop-dead gorgeous young teacher, and that's about all I remember 43 years later.
Avatar 10:05pm Roberto:

Dreamer, nothing but a dreamer? Anyone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm mariano:

@Sid: lucky you. My high-school French teacher was Ms Divine, and she looked like Divine.
Avatar 10:06pm Roberto:

Mariano FTW.

Thank you, Evan!!
  10:14pm Andres:

My fave Sparks album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm Aitch:

My 40th set still temptingly unopened.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Alex of Chicago:

This is cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm efd:

@Aitch how can you stand it??
  10:19pm ?:

Who came first Sparks or Squeeze doing Take me I'm yours one of those synchronicity events of songwriting.
I guess it's Sparks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm efd:

I think they came out around the same time - parallel paths!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm Aitch:

Not easy EFD. Perhaps after I score a new stylus. Sparks (Halfnelson) pre-date Squeeze. Different animals, Sparks still going and still good, as much as I liked Squeeze at the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm efd:

rihgt, Sparks/Half Nelson were around before Squeeze; I think "Take Me I'm Yours" and "Tryouts For The Human Race" came out around the same time though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm Aitch:

New Pornos paying Sydney soonish. I should go, weirdly good. I've seen Neko Case - wow. So many songwriters in NP they always seem to end up with 4 melodies in every track. If they ever get it all together simultaneously they might be the best pop band ever (but they won't)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm mariano:

Damn - just Googled Sparks out of curiosity. They go back to friggin' 1968? Different name, but still, been in the game since then. It's like when I found out that Andy Summers has been playing gigs since the 50s. He was in the Animals and Soft Machine briefly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Aitch:

Andy Summers was a Yardbird. Sparks up to about 25 albums, all good in their own way, some of the latest ones are the best. Lil Beethoven, Hello Young Lovers.
  10:28pm johnk77:

great show
ron & russell from sparks
were at the t.a.m.i. show
in the audience
1964
  10:29pm Andres:

Evan - We pronounce it CanCon, 'eh.
  10:35pm ?:

I remember they played the Sparks actual video of get in the swing on Rock concert or midnight special I had just found indiscreet album as a cut out. I told my friend that I had this album that was quite zany and then we saw the the video of get in the swing and he knew what I meant
  10:36pm Steve:

Hey EFD, did Ultimate Painting break up sometime ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm efd:

hey Steve, yeah, sadly they broke up nearly two years ago, just before a new album was supposed to come out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm efd:

I remember that "Get In The Swing" video! I saw it back then too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm Aitch:

Sparks 1979 Kenny Everett Video show, Hot Gossip dancers blew my teenage mind #1 Song in Heaven. www.youtube.com...
  10:41pm Listener Bop Monroe:

my brother took me to see them at The Ritz, the Angst In My Pants tour.
just make me so happy and laugh!

i predict!
  10:41pm Steve:

Oh man ! I didn't know that, EFD ?! That's a drag and that there was a new album planned, too. Oh well what can you do. They were better together than apart.
  10:45pm Andres:

It got super funky with this Metal Glo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm Bootsie:

Yes! I never hear the Head East version anymore
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I heard Rainbow's version of "Since You've Been Gone." Now to go see which came first.
Avatar 11:20pm Roberto:

Yo this is hawt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm Bootsie:

@Ken I _think_ Head East?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm Bootsie:

Yes, Head East did it first... but I did NOT know it was originally a Russ Ballard tune! en.m.wikipedia.org...
  11:37pm Mike Sin:

Head East had the better version, but Rainbow probably had the better video. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm efd:

I don't remember the video(s), but I'll take your word for it!
Avatar 11:49pm herb.nyc:

Pernice! At their recent NYC show, a woman was all smiley at stage front. Joe pointed her out-"she and I were in a band, my first" (paraphrased). so sweet. Great great record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm mariano:

Ooh, Rainbow videos: Stone Cold, Street of Dreams...
