Hi diddly hi Nick!
  3:04am ignatatus666:

Is Amanda a guest co hostess?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06am Nick the Bard:

not tonight
  3:06am ignatatus666:

We used to watch a show called Vegetable Soup
The bad guys were fronions?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

yeah, it's just like this. hi from san francisco!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09am Aitch:

Brian Wilson had some favourite vegetables...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10am Nick the Bard:

I THINK I knew a different show called Vegetable Soup, or it was Alphabet Soup, that was supposed to be Seasame Street more aimed at an urban black audiance (it was a 70's thing, and it used to get reaired on sunday mornings on the staation that carried home shopping club)
  3:18am ignatatus666:

Were the characters multicultural with human hands and have a spaceship made from junk?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21am Nick the Bard:

THAT was a companion show to it, I keep forgetting the name of it though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22am Nick the Bard:

OUTERSCOPE, that was the puppet show part
  3:23am ignatatus666:

I just looked it up
It only had 2 seasons. Not sure of the one you spoke. We lived this show . It was so bizarre.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23am Nick the Bard:

who the hell is going to remember THAT name ever
  3:26am ignatatus666:

Bette Midler and James Earl Jones were regular voices on it
Imbd gave it an 8.1/10
I’m surprised no one ever tried to run these again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26am Nick the Bard:

and then it all got paired up with New Zoo Revue, that was a freaky ass morning to wake up to at 6am on a sunday
  3:26am ignatatus666:

Outer scope was the name of the spaceship
Avatar 3:28am coelacanth∅))):

cheeses Fucking crisco i'm glad i was forbidden to watch tv on school mornings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31am Nick the Bard:

I wouldn't recommend looking it up, unless you want to see puppets that look like they're made from mummified orphans
  3:33am ignatatus666:

I hated New Zoo revue
No way even closely related
Well maybe same drugs influenced the producers
Then we had the Magic Garden
But none of them were close to the oddity of Vegetable Soup
Avatar 3:33am coelacanth∅))):

mummified onions?
oh mummified orphans
either way Yikes!
  3:34am ignatatus666:

Watch it
Life is not complete without getting hooked on this show that costs 13.00 per episode
  3:36am ignatatus666:

Avatar 3:42am coelacanth∅))):

i do remember the adverts for magic garden
and thinking that as completely and horribly deluded to reality mr.rogers was, magic garden was infinitely worse
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am mariano:

I swear I remember an episode of The Electric Company from the 70s (I would've been around 7) that had a skit about a superhero called Lettuce Man. The bad guy turned up at a party where a woman was serving a salad to all her guests, and he turned the lettuce to wallets, till Lettuce Man saved the day and turned them back to lettuce. I can't find any mention of it online, and nobody I've mentioned it to believes me. But I swear I saw it!
Avatar 3:44am coelacanth∅))):

wait, where is that boat full of narcotics again?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45am VincentNifigance:

Let the man eat his fish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46am VincentNifigance:

For crying out loud.
  3:46am ignatatus666:

The narcotics
The murder
The bad guys and kids?
You can’t knock a shark out it will die.

i don't LIKE trout a la creme
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49am mariano:

I wonder where my fish has gone? It was a most elusive fish...
  3:51am ignatatus666:

I prefer the missing fish over the steamed hams.
Avatar 3:53am coelacanth∅))):

mariano i remember when the electric company hit tv and i already didn't care about tv but watched moments of it now and then and though i've never seen a whole episode of nor more than maybe 5-6 minutes of an electric company episode that scenario seems vaguely familiar to me
maybe i imagine that
Avatar 3:55am coelacanth∅))):

(actually never cared about tv but i had an older sister and a younger sister who were addicted ti it)
Avatar 3:58am Shea:

Henry Rollins is insufferable.
Avatar 3:59am coelacanth∅))):

i'm still lighting my jack-off-o-lantern at night should i start putting xmas lights in it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07am VincentNifigance:

@Shea: Henry Rollins likes Henry Rollins. A LOT.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13am VincentNifigance:

When was the pledge drive goal reached?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14am Nick the Bard:

I think sometime last night? I got here around 7pm and it said it was hit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19am mariano:

Thanks for the validation, @coelacanth∅)))!
Avatar 4:24am coelacanth∅))):

holy crap grand funk still existed when the heavy metal movie came out?
  4:26am ignatatus666:

What year was that Jethro Tull from?
Sounds like it had a major influence on the band ManoWar
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26am Nick the Bard:

Grand Funk Railroad : Years active 1969–1976, 1981–1983, 1996–1998, 2000–present
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27am Nick the Bard:

Tull's Stormwatch was from 1979 (turned 40 back in September)
  4:28am ignatatus666:

Rollins is the non Rock Star icon
Unlike you and Clay
So add both of you to that list and bring Bruce Springsteen along as well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28am Nick the Bard:

The new line-up released two albums on Irving Azoff's Full Moon label, distributed by Warner Bros. Records. These releases included 1981's Grand Funk Lives and 1983's What's Funk?.[2] Neither album achieved much critical acclaim; but the single "Queen Bee" was included in the film Heavy Metal and its soundtrack album. After the band disbanded a second time in 1983, Farner continued as a solo performer and became a Christian recording artist, and Brewer went on to tour with Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band.
Avatar 4:29am coelacanth∅))):

after years away from it, and being thoroughly disappointed in it upon release that 'tull track sounded alright
Avatar 4:33am Shea:

I need a re-edit of the Sopranos finale with this playing. The camera pans out to reveal that the entire series took place on a holodeck.
Avatar 4:36am coelacanth∅))):

interesting,Nick. they just kind of faded into the haze in my world, after "american band"
but grand funk "live album" was a major stepping stone i my musical formation, as a child. i still listen to that album from time to time. especially mean mistreater and inside looking out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40am VincentNifigance:

@Ignatatus666: Wow, thanks for that unprovoked attack. I respected Henry for years, saw him live, spoken word, excellent. The more I see of him the more I thin k he has a problem. Paranoia. I don't ultimately think he's bad, just has a few issues. Check him out, maybe this is why you took my barb at him as a personal attack: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41am VincentNifigance:

P.S. I have no horse in the Springsteen Sweepstakes, so whatever...
  4:43am ignatatus666:

@coel that Tull track reminds me of real early Tull
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43am Nick the Bard:

Well, you know, watching your best friend get shot in the back of the head execution style on your front lawn will probably screw you up for life
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am VincentNifigance:

You have zero idea, obviously, how little stock I put in and abundance of splenetic fluid I spew about posturing personalities. Oh, and here's non-Rock Star Icon Henry advertsing Calvin Kleins: www.youtube.com...
Avatar 4:46am coelacanth∅))):

iggy666 i might have to pull that stormwatch record out and scrape the dust off
  4:48am ignatatus666:

I do t do the click thing
  4:49am ignatatus666:

I have no 2 legged heroes
Just made a reference
Avatar 4:49am Shea:

'Henry Rollins: Non-Rock Star Icon'
Avatar 4:50am coelacanth∅))):

too ...
i'm off to see the gizzard
Thanks Nick and i'm sorry if i'm sometimes the uncle from hell that everyone hoped without saying so would veer off a cliff into the ocean on the way
it's just my lot
g'night all i love you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53am VincentNifigance:

@ignatatus666: I was sorry you got called-out for taking a swipe at things. Now? I get it. Not sure what I had to do with it, I partially agreed with you, and told you where to take your grievances, with the intent of being constructive. Check the archived accu without the bile-tinted spectacles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55am Nick the Bard:

Can we all just go back to hating Henry Rollins because he gets to go watch football at William Shatner's house and probably gets to hang out with Scallop Man a whole lot
  4:58am ignatatus666:

Let’s go back to Watching Vegetable Soup
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59am Nick the Bard:

That too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00am VincentNifigance:

And when we feel the need to criticise something, remember everything's subjective, and no one else gives a shit.
  5:06am ignatatus666:

Not everyone is called out on that chat
Only a select few. No reason to go make a formal complaint over trivial nonsense. I voiced and nothing more. The same as everyone on that chat. Since everyone can not be treated nicely and fair I left the chat and will not return. That was the 4 th occasion that was obvious. As well as a few other subtle innuendos. That’s the greatest morning show on FM radio, so I walked.
  5:07am tak:

hey, you guys,
  5:13am tak:

my dad loves henry rollins
  5:13am tak:

that's my dig
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14am Nick the Bard:

We're gonna turn it on
We're gonna bring you the power
We're gonna light up the dark of night like the

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16am VincentNifigance:

@Nick: You sheoul dget the station IDs from 'Airheads' "'Relax to the mellow sounds of The Rain on KPPX.''
  5:18am ignatatus666:

What about the show Zoom
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am Nick the Bard:

Zoom was before my time, only thing I remember about it was how much of a big deal they made about the revivial version
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am VincentNifigance:

@Nick The Bard: Speaking of soup, have you ever seen an animated Japanese film called 'Cat Soup' (Nekojiru-sô)? It's pretty Effed up, but amazing; www.imdb.com...
  5:24am ignatatus666:

Come on along and join us Come on along we’re going to have some fun, come on along and join us in a little bowl of vegetable soup.It takes all kinds of vegetables to make vegetable soup
  5:25am ignatatus666:

Nick the revival of Zoom was horrible
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am Nick the Bard:

From the bit I saw of it, I could imagine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am Nick the Bard:

Japanese movies I've just never gotten into (kind of fell out with anime too, surprising with all the music from there I play)
  5:33am ignatatus666:

Not even the Ichi the killer movies or Iron Man?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36am VincentNifigance:

@Ignatatus666: I'm thinking maybe early 90s incomprehensible Japanese adverts starring Arnold Schwarzenegger might be more Nick's speed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37am Hugo (NL):

Tetsuo is great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37am VincentNifigance:

Haven't seen Tetsuo for 25 years, need to fix that.
  5:40am ignatatus666:

Tetsuo 2 was bad ass!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40am Nick the Bard:

I THINK I have Ichi the Killer, I know i have Hausu, a bunch of other stuff I grabbed at random from assorted dollar stores by me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am VincentNifigance:

@Ignatatus666: @HugoNL: I never caught the sequel. Assumed by the little I heard about it, it was a needless re-tread. I'm seeing you can get both together for a reasonable price so should probably fill that gap in my collection.
  5:48am ignatatus666:

Part 2 was better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am Hugo (NL):

I didn't even know there was a part 2! need to find it now hehe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57am VincentNifigance:

Thanks @Nick. Hope to see each and every one of my fellow vegetables elsewhere in this soup.
