"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05am adampsyche:

wife (not normally at home during this hour) lost her shit when it came on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am sphere:

i don't understand this Phil Collins obsession.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am Doobois:

I fucking love all of this Phil Collins shiznit. A throat-punch to Friday motivation, in the best possible way, of course. How was Rolnick?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am queems:

i enjoy phil collins
  9:08am Larry:

I picked the wrong morning to take LSD
  9:08am Dave Conehead:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am adampsyche:

"don't worry dear, he hasn't been playing it through the whole song lately, but it's going to get worse"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am Ken From Hyde Park:

Phil was the one performer who played both stages of Live Aid. He flew on an SST across the Atlantic that day in 1985.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am sphere:

maybe some psychedelics would help me navigate this Collins morass.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am Doobois:

Sphere, they only make it better.
  9:12am Larry:

Jimmy Page said Phil was the reason Led Zeppelin tanked at Live Aid. Jimmy is probably projecting.
  9:14am kev:

Live @Ridgewood HS
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15am steveo:

phil was also the reason i got a D in physics class
  9:16am vixo:

ALL 4 SIDES!!! MISSISSIPPI QUEEN.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am sphere:

@ steveo - how did Phil affect your grade?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am steveo:

he kept me up all night every night for a week, what an animal
Avatar 9:19am John Allen:

I see Steveo, so it was the promise of something in the air?
Avatar 9:19am PKNY:

Is there a way to give the "JA in the AM" treatment to Frida's "I Know There's Something Going On"? It's a prime PFC production?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am G:

There must be some misunderstanding
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am steveo:

hold on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am The Oscar:

Man, I forgot how great this Higney record is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am Krys O.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am karlward:

Oh man that's going to be the opposite of a sad trombone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am karlward:

Where the opposite of "sad trombone" is "experimental disco trombone"
Avatar 9:43am John Allen:

Karl are you talking about Zummo's album of Tim Buckley covers?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am karlward:

JA: No, I'm talking about the disco remake of that album by Robyn.
Avatar 9:45am John Allen:

great way to knock me off a joke set up, KARL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46am karlward:

Oh wait, no you're right, the Tim Buckley covers. Go on.
Avatar 9:47am John Allen:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am TomDash:

yeah Jeezy - that Ghoulies song was great!
Swag For Life Member 10:30am bk845:

Gotta wonder if Apple Records sued 10cc for this song?
Avatar 10:30am John Allen:

jeezy its their only album dogged by dogma, it's got a few odd moves to it but occasionally sets into a nice early scritti/robert wyatt vibe
Avatar 10:32am dale:

graham gouldman is a freakin' genius.
Avatar 10:37am khd:

dead c! alright, alright...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38am TomDash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am karlward:

Still waiting to hear that Mission of Burma + Phil Collins reunion bootleg. I know JA has it, on cassette, but won't share it with the world.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm tim from champaign (now washington):

In my mind, I'm using Hawaii Oslo as a soundtrack to seeing Bryce frantically running down the street to get to the station, he's knocking into other cummters and frantically dashing in an out of traffic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm sphere:

@ tim - he's blaring merzbow to force people out of his way.
