Avatar 2:04pm

Alina Brennaman:

i heard there's nothing to eat but hot dogs at the fair, and the line for hot dogs is an hour long
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm
Franco Twinkie:

That to me was an alternate universe Kaleidoscope. I'm more familiar with The L.A. band of the same name.
Avatar 2:09pm
Ursula1000:

this was the UK ones---first and second album are sublime
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm
Franco Twinkie:

Actually, both The Association and Kaleidoscope were Pasadena bands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

Make sure you go to a frite shop. Frites with mayo/frite sauce are SO GOOD.
Avatar 2:14pm
Alina Brennaman:

Mr Fab:

Oh YAH. Syd’s my main man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm
Franco Twinkie:

Alina, I read about what sounded like a miserable cold and wet pop festival in Belgium where the only thing to eat were green hot dogs floating in murky liquid. But that was a long time ago, I'm sure the food is better now.
Avatar 2:16pm
Alina Brennaman:

Franco, I worked on a Bulgarian run farm in Northern California once where they fed us hot dog soup, sounds similar and similarly disgusting
Avatar 2:16pm
Ursula1000:

you can't tell but right now everything in my studio is zooming in and out
Avatar 2:17pm
Ursula1000:

Steve Marriott on backing vocals!

Martinibomb:

@franco sounds like my Elementary school lunch program hah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm
Franco Twinkie:

Speaking of hot dogs, I think I will chop up a wiener and cook it with scrambled eggs. I'm just not ready to go out and forage for something to eat.
Avatar 2:20pm
Mr Fab:

This discussion reminds me of hitting the Rhino Records parking lot sales, and then devouring the goods at All American Burger. To this day I have no idea if they are an actually good restaurant, or I was just famished.
Avatar 2:21pm
Mr Fab:

Big ups to “Satanic Majesties’ Request” , the Stones most unfairly maligned album!
Avatar 2:22pm
Ursula1000:

totally. love that album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm
Franco Twinkie:

Mr. Fab, remember the parking lot at Capitol, then breakfast at Langers?
Avatar 2:25pm
Hubig Pie:

Junior Parker does a lovely loungy version of Tommorow never knows
Avatar 2:27pm
Ursula1000:

ooh I'll have to check that out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm
Franco Twinkie:

Me too! I got SMR for Christmas in 1967. I remember my mom standing by the xmas tree looking at the hellish collage in the gate fold and musing to no one in particular "Is this album for children?"
Avatar 2:29pm
Alina Brennaman:

It's good to get rejuvenated on the Beatles, one too many Hey Jude covers and it's easy to write off the whole band but I really enjoyed that
Avatar 2:29pm
Alina Brennaman:

Not one too many, but many too many
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm
Hopey Sockmonkey:

@Franco do you mean the nighttime record fair in the Capitol parking lot back in the day?
Avatar 2:31pm
Ursula1000:

haha for sure! I can do w/out Hey Jude too. Burnt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm
Franco Twinkie:

Yes, Hopey. That one!
