For more than 25 years, Bob Irwin, the Dean of Sundazed Music, has befuddled, disoriented, and otherwise thrilled collectors and consumers alike by refusing to drive between the lines. Swerving wildly from garage to psych, from surf to soul, from biker to bossa, Bob’s steering with his elbows and hollerin’ like a banshee as he careens all over Route ‘60s, knocking over traffic cones.


The show is called Big Planet Noise! – and it’s hosted by Bob and Gina Frary Bacon, the gal with the great voice. It’s almost always all-vinyl, from Bob’s insane collection. The show became a must-listen in Nashville, a town unaccustomed to such carryings-on, and it’s now primed to become a part of your not-too-proud-to-be-surprised lives. Tim - they really did have a fair amount. Prob 6-8 singles on Verve. Some are unique versions to the 45, too. All are essential. And - to this day - I have never ever seen a 45 copy of "Wake Me, Shake Me," even though it's listed as being issued. Joedz??? Anyone???

Actually the Blues Project put out at least a half dozen singles. the only one that even came close to charting was No Time Like the Right Time which at that point was a non-LP B side.

Matt - 1968. My mother was in the hospital. I was staying with my aunt. My father was away on business. He came home on a Friday night, picked me up and told me that I could buy an album in Catskill NY. We got to the store (Big Scott) and they had a giant speed table with thousands of 45s priced at 5 for 22 cents. I convinced him that instead of buying me an album, to let me spend 15 minutes at the speed table. I left with about 60 or 70 45s, this being one of them.

OK Bob - as far as I know Wake Me Shape Me was not on a US 45, but there was a Japan 45 on the Verve label and I do have a copy of that. Came with a picture sleeve and a lyric insert in English
