Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Threemoons:

YO ALL Y'ALL including @Vincent you GOTTA see Joker. If Joaquim Phoenix doesn't get an Oscar than there truly is no G-d.

Hola todos! I think Fabio smoked some kill before the show today. Bring on the bad vibes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm chresti:

geez, last night I dreamt you gave me a ride...somewhere, it was a "late to work" type dream
Avatar 3:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Cream records meant as much to me as anybody's.
Avatar 3:14pm geezerette:

Chresti, funny ! Maybe we'll miss finals too.
  3:14pm Jett:

Nice to hear SWLABR.
  3:15pm wild Neil peace all:

king crimson first album is 50 and so is zappa s hot rats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm chresti:

:) to geez
  3:16pm Jett:

Also the Stooges are awesome, always!
Avatar 3:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

....but...I don't remember my schedule!...or locker combo!!...
There is some irony in Ginger Baker reviling Metal...
  3:17pm Jett:

That first King Crimson album ranks very high on my all-time favorite lps list.
Avatar 3:17pm geezerette:

Rev, that was some drumming!

Love for Iggy, but seriously, put a shirt on it, man...
Avatar 3:17pm Fredericks:

Didn't Ginger Baker play with the Master's Of Reality?
Avatar 3:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Classic Roedelius, that.
Avatar 3:18pm SSS:

Ginger Baker WAS the master of reality.
  3:19pm ?:

I prefer '1970' to '1969' (in all respects)
Avatar 3:19pm SSS:

In a very limited piece of it.
Avatar 3:19pm Fredericks:

Point taken, SSS.
Avatar 3:20pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 3:20pm SSS:

Wasn't The Masters of Reality one of his later jazz projects?
Avatar 3:22pm geezerette:

I feel totally stoned now.
  3:24pm VincentNifigance:

@Threemoons noted!
Avatar 3:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Masters of Reality (if i remember correctly) came outta syracuse NY & had a decent history before Baker (somehow) got involved. Their pre-Baker stuff = far superior in my humble.
Avatar 3:25pm Fredericks:

I thought they were a metal band. If there was only some way to figure this out. Fabio...Clay can you help us out here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm steveo:

good afternoon Fabio, it is a pleasure to hear your program today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm Franco Twinkie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm tim from champaign:

What did Ginger Baker do with PIL? I see that he did something with them but I haven't been able to figure out what.
  3:31pm wfmu_listener_phillip:

thanks for making me feel OLD fabio. ill be 52 on october 21st
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm artbrau:

Amon Düül II have literally not heard them since the 70s. Metropolis from Made in Germany is the only tune that stuck with me.
Avatar 3:34pm Drunken Creep:

Say, that's a finely recorded snare drum
Avatar 3:37pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

pre-clickied Ambarchi.
Large yay.
  3:37pm Jett:

@timfromchampaign Ginger Baker plays on some of the tracks on "Album" or "Compact Disc" by Public Image Limited.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello all Strong Failures. Nice to see a nod to Mr Baker. Not too much love or grief on these here airwaves.
Avatar 3:43pm northguineahills:

  3:46pm wildneilpeaceall:

my friend played in masters of reality. he said he was sorry to get sacked, but when he heard it was fir ginger baker he was stoked. yes Syracuse. spent an evening with them in a giant graveyard next to SU.
  3:47pm John from Florham park:

@Kevinfrombayridge I think ginger baker was not a very beloved figure in the music industry
Avatar 3:48pm geezerette:

Everyone who was 10 or more in '67 had / has a copy of Disraeli Gears. (Failure to prove assertions...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Polyus:

Whoa Fabio, I somehow just remembered Goblin is in my town tonight doing a live soundtrack to Profondo Rosso.
Trump is also here tonight so -
Avatar 3:50pm geezerette:

  3:55pm John from Florham park:

I mean Franco sorry
  3:56pm Jett:

Not a big fan of those Baker/Gurvitz Army albums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm chresti:

I was 10 in 67
  3:58pm anglo taint:

the transformation from Fabio to Bryce is almost complete, apparently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Franco Twinkie:

In the summer 1967 I walked into a record store in San Francisco and they had Fresh Cream up on the wall next to Are You Experienced. It was the first time I saw either of those records. I thought to myself: This must be the new thing...groups with three guys.
  4:00pm Jett:

A track called "Memory Lane" by Baker/Gurvitz Army seems to stick out in my mind as a popular track around 1974. @timfromchampaign Not a big fan though!
  4:01pm William Main:

I bought the first Stooges album in 1969 and now I've heard 1969 from the first Stooges album on WFMU in 2019.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm KevinfromBayRidge:

@JfFp(3:47). For Sure. Not unlike many of our musical icons. Still liked his drumming. Sorry geezerette, although 12 in '67,did not own it. I did admire the cover whilst perusing LPs in my loal (Canarsie, Brooklyn) Variety store, though.
Avatar 4:06pm geezerette:

Franco, a visual renaissance as well as musical, couldn't believe it!
(Funny story. :)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Carmichael:

Everyone's talking about Cream, but nobody says a word about the Beatoffs ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Carmichael:

Me too, chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm chresti:

I liked the Beatoffs! Carmichael, are you affected by the power being shut off?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Carmichael:

No chresti, I'm in the State capitol. They wouldn't dare .... :)
Avatar 4:10pm geezerette:

Kevin, that's the thing! The cover art was equivalent to music then !
Really exciting to baby artists. Open air art school wherever we went.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Franco Twinkie:

Geeze, another image that sticks in my mind from that summer was standing on Market Street and looking at The San Francisco Chronicle. George Harrison was on the front page playing the guitar on Haight Street.
Avatar 4:12pm geezerette:

Wow, Franco!!!
  4:16pm Gnomon:

Holy cats I never thought I’d hear Ben Frost on the radio. Thank you!

Fabio or anyone else who saw The Joker - do you think the Joker was styled after Rupert Pupkin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm VincentNifigance:

@Tim From Champaign Thought so from the trailer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm tim from champaign:

I haven't seen it or the trailer but when the premise was described to me I immediately thought of King of Comedy.

Avatar 5:30pm Bas NL:

Did some digging.. Here's a pic of the setup Philip Jeck used at a concert in 2008... It was a great set he played on a night dedicated to the Touch label. www.poesboes.com... I can imagine Es has a similar setup?
  5:30pm Gnomon:

This show has been fantastic end to end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Rich in Washington:

This track always lights up my brain. An experimental music radio show I used to tune into every week as a kid used to use this as its opening theme.
Avatar 5:38pm geezerette:
