Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm хtina:

  9:18pm yippie:

when was the last time you had a full 3 hour show?
Avatar 9:19pm Franco Twinkie:

Wait a minute, let me put on my bathrobe. Okay, what?
  9:20pm Carmichael:

Scott! Let’s get this thing going.
  9:21pm Carmichael:

The heavens just opened up here when this song began.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm Scott Williams:

@yippie, until this schedule I was on Mondays 3:01-6pm for a loooooonngg time, this here's my 1st radio break in 12 years
  9:23pm McGroovey:

I haven't listened to For Your Pleasure in way too long. I haven't listened to Hot Buttered Soul in way too long.
  9:23pm yippie:

i know i dont remember the last time i heard you with 3 hours on the radio instead of 2hours 59minutes
Avatar 9:23pm Franco Twinkie:

I've mentioned this before, but what the hell: Isaac Hayes use to live around here. I would see him dropping off his lady at the nail salon up the street in the morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm Scott Williams:

@yippie, I can't remember the last time I had the full 3!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm melinda:

@Franco that's worth mentioning more than once, I missed the first time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Scott Williams:

@McGroovey, Armand's on deck tonight - thank you again for grabbing it from the man himself!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm Scott Williams:

Wendy of Cheese!
Avatar 9:31pm JakeGould:

Finally! A “Talking Heads” track I can actually enjoy!
  9:32pm wendy del formaggio:

Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” 7” at 33 is how I first discovered it’s fun to play records in the wrong speed.
Avatar 9:32pm Franco Twinkie:

Ha! I couldn't for the life of me figure out why David sounded like a cartoon.
Avatar 9:33pm TDK60:

..night Bas, gee it's 3:30 there..
  9:34pm wendy del formaggio:

And the intro to Foreigner’s “Double Vision” 7” played at 33 sounds like The Butthole Surfers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm melinda:

@Franco no, I came home last Sunday. It was a fun visit.
  9:36pm Carmichael:

Someone played Jolene at 33 1/3, it sounded like Charley Pride.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm Scott Williams:

The wrong speed is always a good time! Maybe I'll play my fave wrong-speed Eagles jam later!
Avatar 9:38pm TDK60:

I once played a whole Don Cherry LP side too fast and didn't realize till I went to change the side.
  9:38pm wendy del formaggio:

The Eagles are best heard incorrectly. Yeah! Do it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I like the rendition of the one song where every time they sing "Roxanne," it speeds up 5%.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm melinda:

I'm up for wrong-speed Eagles
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm melinda:

@Ken I like that one too
Avatar 9:41pm Franco Twinkie:

I played two slightly out of sync copies of Out Of Focus by Blue Cheer. No one laughed. It was a stupid idea.
  9:42pm johnzo:

hey buddy
  9:44pm Carmichael:

Boy, now it’s hailing. When do the locusts happen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

You right.
Bryan Ferry great example of Sun in Libra.
Avatar 9:45pm Franco Twinkie:

Quick! Someone get Daniel Blumin!
Avatar 9:46pm TDK60:

Franco, will you be notetaker tonight?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm listener 126464:

ooh Henry Kaiser
Avatar 9:47pm Franco Twinkie:

Carmichael, weather is back! Down here too.
Avatar 9:48pm khd:

this jams too good for flexi
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Kewl as hell.
Gittar synth?
Avatar 9:49pm Franco Twinkie:

Sure TDK. I am always the historian of the drunken party.
Avatar 9:53pm Franco Twinkie:

Owen and Armand should start a band together. They could call it Savoy Brown.
  9:54pm McGroovey:

Hey, now this is a cool record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm Scott Williams:

It's the blues "Frankie Teardrop" sorta
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah but the Next War will be groovy. I absolutely promises.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...continuum with Frankie & My Dad Was a Secret Marine by Zoogz Rift...
  9:58pm choggie:

he's got that post-traumatic stress Vietnam Blues
Avatar 9:59pm JakeGould:

I am in such a weird mood this makes sense.
  9:59pm choggie:

.... and it never ends
  10:00pm McGroovey:

Upstate NY accents are underrepresented on radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Scott Williams:

@McGroovey, it sounds so Chicago
Avatar 10:01pm JakeGould:

@McGroovey: What are good examples of Upstate NY accents other than this?
  10:02pm yes:

Rock!
Avatar 10:03pm Franco Twinkie:

I went to Viet Nam in 1994 just to have a look see. There was still a lot of American war junk everywhere. Oh,yeah there was a Jimi Hendrix bar in Saigon.
Avatar 10:03pm JakeGould:

I always thought it was “Eagles” like “Ramones.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Melinda, get in here!
Avatar 10:05pm Roberto:

I missed the sped-up Heads, but it strikes me as a capital idea. Every time i hear that song at its proposed speed I think, dang, can y'all hurry it along now?
  10:06pm Carmichael:

Is this Albert King?
Avatar 10:06pm JakeGould:

@Ken: And make you a sandwich?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm melinda:

i'm here
  10:08pm Carmichael:

That was the Eagles’ problem. They were just too fast.
Avatar 10:10pm Hubig Pie:

Are there any legal issues with playing records at the wrong speed?
Avatar 10:10pm geezerette:

Oh Good, two hours left!
Howdy, Scott & all!
Avatar 10:11pm JakeGould:

@HubigPie: You Rudy Guiliani or something?
  10:11pm rev. turnip druid:

HOLY CRAP!
Avatar 10:11pm TDK60:

Yes Hubig Pie, I may sue if Hotel Calif. is played on 16 RPM.
Avatar 10:12pm spacecowboy:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm Scott Williams:

REV! Howdie geezerette! Hubig HELL no
Avatar 10:12pm Franco Twinkie:

I was going for a walk on the ridge above The Rose Bowl the day after The Eagles played there. I found an army surplus rain coat in a nest of empty wine bottles.
Avatar 10:12pm spacecowboy:

isnt thier a law against that ? or at least a local ordinance ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm chresti:

haha TDK60
Avatar 10:15pm JakeGould:

No laws can stop rock and roll!
Avatar 10:15pm JakeGould:

@Franco: That is a very cool post concert find.
Avatar 10:15pm spacecowboy:

man we are getting a huge booming thunderstorm here in jenkintown- or the world is ending due to the jolt to the balance of nature due to scott williams on a sat night
Avatar 10:16pm JakeGould:

The world ending cannot stop rock and roll!
Avatar 10:16pm Franco Twinkie:

Jake, and practical too, I still wear it!
Avatar 10:17pm Hubig Pie:

Jake, rudy's too busy right now to police freeform radio hi-jinks
  10:18pm Carmichael:

@spacecowboy, Dude I’m telling you. We just had an entire spectrum of weather in the last hour.
Avatar 10:19pm Franco Twinkie:

I have a feeling Rudy is going to renegotiate his contract with shit for brains
Avatar 10:19pm spacecowboy:

@carmichel -see this is what happens- im gettin concerned
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hypothetical question: If one were to take Grateful Dead music and speed it way up, would it sound anything like Megadeth?
Avatar 10:20pm JakeGould:

I want Rudy to scream, “But we paid the vig! This is not right!”
Avatar 10:22pm geezerette:

If only rock & roll could stop the world ending.

Pretty sure rudy is toast.
  10:23pm Carmichael:

Awesome choice, Scotty. Richard is my muse.
  10:24pm Carmichael:

Rudy’s going to hell, and he knows it.
Avatar 10:24pm Hubig Pie:

Who know's where the time goes when Richard plays his guitar
Avatar 10:25pm geezerette:

Carm, he's from there.
Avatar 10:25pm JakeGould:

I just want to add some NJ politics into this. Chris Christie said, “This is the president, who he is and how he does business…” Bada-Bing bada-Boom! Anyway, anyone have any horrible dad/uncle jokes?
Avatar 10:25pm JakeGould:

Hubig, hypnotic for sure.
  10:30pm Carmichael:

Rudy is Christopher in the Sopranos.
Avatar 10:31pm Franco Twinkie:

Marty is in Joshua Tree. The monument is a dead zone - no internet. This is a perfect stoned in the desert set. To bad he can't here it in real time.
Avatar 10:33pm Franco Twinkie:

Oh, Robert.
  10:33pm Carmichael:

Yep.
  10:34pm Carmichael:

Is Marty visiting Gram?
  10:35pm yippie:

i once saw robert hunter play a concert in boston pretty amazing unique man who will be missed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm Scraps:

That's my favorite Dead song. Sigh.
Avatar 10:36pm Franco Twinkie:

We'll find out next week, I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm melinda:

I like this Grateful Dead
  10:38pm Carmichael:

I don’t like much Dead, but this is an excellent representative choice.
Avatar 10:38pm TDK60:

a great moody one, for the Gratefuls.
Avatar 10:38pm Hubig Pie:

Carmichael, Gram's father had his body moved to Metairie cemetery outside New Orleans
  10:39pm McGroovey:

@JakeGould Mine, when I've spent enough time upstate to reactivate it. New Jersey blunts it, though.
Avatar 10:40pm geezerette:

He was great. All the Dead songs I like have Hunter's lyrics.
  10:41pm Carmichael:

@hubig, thanks I did not know that. You’re talking about Mr Parsons, and not Coon Dog Conner, I’m certain.
Avatar 10:42pm Franco Twinkie:

I saw Robert Hunter in 1975 at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach. He was wearing a suede vest with no shirt. He was a fair to middling singer and only a passable guitar player....AND IT DIDN'T EVEN MATTER!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm Blacktooth:

Moron Witch In A Moment....
Avatar 10:43pm Hubig Pie:

Well, Coon Dog Conner might be buried there also
Avatar 10:43pm TDK60:

..now this Richard Thompson is often called a great lead guitarist but what about his rhythm guitar? you know, strumming an acoustic.
Avatar 10:43pm geezerette:

The Golden Bear!!!
  10:44pm Carmichael:

@tdk, there are several Richard Thompsons, and each of them are excellent guitarists.
Avatar 10:44pm javakid:

House of Guitars is still around? Fabulous. I would visit my grandmother in Rochester in the late 70s and early 80s and H of G would have TV ads. Back when an independent record store could have a TV ad.

Yaaa this is great!
Avatar 10:50pm geezerette:

Love this! New to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm McGroovey:

HoG had ads on mostly at the cheap times. When people were up late, sitting around indulging their munchies, etc... They may still have the ads, but don't hold me to that. I haven't been a regular watcher of Rochester TV in 16 years. Neat freaks will get the willies. I get nervous, and I'm not even a neat freak. It's a hoarder's paradise.
Avatar 10:53pm geezerette:

Franco, you're so right.
Avatar 10:56pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Perfect timing. For some reason, all the German prog gets spun during autumn here. Now gotta dig out Rockpommel’s Land & the other Erocs...
Avatar 10:57pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Actually now we need proper autumn. Still feels like wretched summer here...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I wonder if the prog project Karrot Kake ever got off the ground.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm Blues Mandinga:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01pm Scott Williams:

@Folsom, he's prob never heard Astro Sounds from beyond The Year 2000

@Scott: “Klown” is such a creepy band name.
