Avatar 3:50pm geezerette:

The Beatles must've heard this guy.
Perfect imitation on "You Know My Name..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Rich in Washington:

Had to dig myself out of rubble to say SHOOBY!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Mr Fab:

hey Otis, and fellow Friendlys! So nice to tune in to the dulcet tones of Shooby.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Otis Fodder:

Rich! Shooby!

Avatar 3:55pm geezerette:

Linda, was just thinking Shooby was probably inspiration for Scooby.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Mr Fab:

Sorry I'm late. Just back from...and 'm not kidding here...JACK WEBB'S ESTATE SALE!!
Avatar 3:56pm Linda Lee:

i sure hope so!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Mr Fab:

will post pics on the Sheena's FB page later.
Avatar 3:58pm Linda Lee:

yes. let's see what you brought home!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Mr Fab:

Patience and Prudence cut a rock version of You Belong To Me? Who knew? They were probably kind of "old" by the mid-60s.
Avatar 3:59pm Linda Lee:

i love that album cover more than i can possibly say.
Avatar 3:59pm geezerette:

Mr. Fab, that's incredible!
Avatar 4:00pm geezerette:

The Jack Webb thing I mean. Wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Mr Fab:

I was certainly amazed. The family that bought his house way back when pretty much left everything.
Avatar 4:03pm geezerette:

Really incredible! Was that in the valley?
Avatar 4:04pm Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

Twinkle & Daddy sound like a ventriloquist act.
Avatar 4:04pm geezerette:

How did you hear about it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Mr Fab:

Yes, in Encino. A friend of my wife's mentioned that he'd been and I about fell off my chair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Kat in Chicago:

Mr Fab, that's the best excuse for not being on the comments board, or possibly anywhere, ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Mr Fab:

Probaby still going on! (5031 Encino Ave, just off Ventura Blvd.) Might not be much left to buy, but you can check out his room with 9 TVs, so he could watch 'Dragnet' and the competition all at the same time.
Avatar 4:08pm geezerette:

I'm a fan, he was so sophisticated. Good actor too, great in Sunset Blvd.
Avatar 4:09pm Linda Lee:

gosh. that sounds hellish.
Avatar 4:10pm geezerette:

Thanks for info!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Rich in Washington:

Fab, I was just reading about that Jack Webb estate sale. Why was his stuff just now coming up, and how did they keep it on mothballs for so long? So weird.
Avatar 4:11pm Linda Lee:

estate issues?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Rich in Washington:

I think it's in Irwin's book. I sort of recall it - the Wildman/Rosemary Clooney story.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Mr Fab:

i asked someone, and they said that the people who bought the estate from Webb just left everything the way Jack left it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Rich in Washington:

Right, because of the Pharaoh-style curse Jack put on it. Makes complete sense.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Mr Fab:

I recall hearing that Clooney heard Wild Man singing "Lord Send me A Kid" on Dr Demento, and was so touched by it, she got in touch with him.
Avatar 4:16pm Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

Sunset Blvd. is such a great movie. Norma Desmond is my spirit animal.
Avatar 4:18pm geezerette:

Best thing Swanson ever did!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Otis Fodder:

That's the story Fab, thanks!

Sunset Blvd. is a fav too!!
Avatar 4:20pm geezerette:

Otis, it's hilarious and scary at the same time. :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Kat in Chicago:

Oh god, they do "Abraham, Martin and John" on this album. In the same perky voices?
Avatar 4:23pm Linda Lee:

this man is a muppet.
Avatar 4:24pm Linda Lee:

"the charm of my smile will melt your eyes"..?
that's awful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Kat in Chicago:

Ew, who wants their eyes melted?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Mr Fab:

you think the song sounds awful, wait til you SEE it! Harvey Sid first came to public's attention via his eye-popping public-access cable show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Kat in Chicago:

Blowfly did a Zodiac album. Wow.
Avatar 4:29pm Linda Lee:

we all remember those dayglo posters showing each sign's best sex positions. some of them looked excruciating. wish i could see these people try!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm northguineahills:

nice pirate tape, I have a few of them a friend of mine got me from the UK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Otis Fodder:

Yea, love this. First time listening. Heard like 1 minute on bandcamp and ordered the tape like that. So good.
Avatar 4:48pm geezerette:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Otis Fodder:

Welll... well.. welllllll... let me go and pull out some Batman!
Avatar 4:50pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 4:52pm Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Mr Fab:

Dang, that was a good version of "I Love Music"
4:53pm Dave In St Albans UK:

Hi Otis. Great show! Literally thousands of hours of UK pirate radio shows and UK offshore pirate radio broadcasts available for free download on the internet these days. I used to " collect" everything I could. I decided to be more selective once I had filled up 10Tb of hard drives! Also I can't possibly ever listen to them all. PS Thanks Rich in Washington. I now have the two Jandek albums that you suggested. Love em. Got to adjust my head before I listen to them though lol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Dave!! Wow, do you have any links you can share here for pirate radio shows? Will have to search them out, I'm all new to these. Love it so much!

I haven't gone down to Jandek town yet, but on my list to revisit.
4:56pm Dave In St Albans UK:

Hi Otis. Yes. Let me compile a short list for starters. Watch this space!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Otis Fodder:

Ahhh super Dave, much appreciated my friend.
Avatar 5:00pm geezerette:

Ha haha!!! Thank you, Otis!!!
Avatar 5:01pm Linda Lee:

we had a fabulous pirate station operating in asheville nc in the early 90s. fantastic. i made many tapes of their shows. left them all behind when i moved away. maybe they're on bandcamp now! :-D
Avatar 5:04pm Linda Lee:

I love this comp. I think one version of it was put out by Don Bolles, aka Kitten Sparkles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm Otis Fodder:

Celebrites Don had a hand in. Possibly this one too. First got a tape of these in 1994 or 1995, was sent to the SCHWA HQ in Reno at the time where I was working on a Pranks tape. No clue on how is actually behind it or the date, but thinking late 80s. This Industry comp is so funny and nuts.
