Avatar 7:14pm Sem:

Slinging designer hooch, growing some spuds, cleaning up from Hurricane Dorian's lightning visit, you know, the usual, man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm chresti:

LIke this Buta Raga song!
Avatar 7:18pm Bill Mac:

Was thinking of you when the hurricane hit Nova Scotia. Wasn't it a CAT 2?

Avatar 7:25pm Sem:

Category 1, Bill. Bad enough for the internet connection to drop unexpectedly, as it did 6 minutes ago..
Also : HEY FRAN! Greets, chicken man of Shropshire.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm Fran:

Sem!! Chicken man of shropshire - now that's a title!! Who is from Shropshire?
Avatar 7:26pm Sem:

Missed you there, NGH.,howdy do.

Avatar 7:41pm Franco Twinkie:

Scott Walker in wide screen!
Avatar 7:42pm Bill Mac:

@BiUK That's gonna leave a hole isn't it?
Avatar 7:45pm Franco Twinkie:

Nick Cave in Chiaroscuro!
Avatar 7:46pm Brian in UK:

Used judiciously, it is effective. The red mist and the voice that sounds liKe Bob Dorough is merely a side effect.
Avatar 7:46pm northguineahills:

Daniel! (I love the version he does w/ YLT!)
Avatar 7:48pm Bill Mac:

I love that it sounds like he's playing a Kenner Color Note Organ
Avatar 7:48pm Brian in UK:

Anyone here ever ridden or got a motorcycle?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm Fran:

Nope - speedy or otherwise Brian - I haven't been near them since teenage trail bike misbehaviour. Saving it until my mid life crisis kicks in properly.
Avatar 7:51pm Brian in UK:

Would love to have heard Scott Walker (odd tht he never reverted to Engle) record an album of 'standards' he had the voice for it. He would certainly have picked some off-beat ones.
Avatar 7:51pm Little Danny:

Heya Bill, hey all!
Avatar 7:52pm Bill Mac:

Hey Danny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm Fran:

I have a big soft spot for Daniel J but also I loved that Kathy McCarty DJ covers record
Avatar 7:53pm Brian in UK:

Fran those old man Harleys and ponytails dont come cheap.
Avatar 7:53pm Bill Mac:

@BiUK Tony Bennett's still available for duets
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm chresti:

I've ridden on the back of a motorcycle a few times
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm Fran:

I know Brian but we'll probably be working to our mid 80's under the Tory Junta and it will be more like shopmobility scooters.....
Avatar 7:56pm Brian in UK:

Would love to see one of them lay rubber!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm chresti:

I drove a moped once, I did not like it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Fran:

I suspect they know plenty about rubber Brian in the Bullingdon Club
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Fran:

Yes!!!! Well done Bill!!
Avatar 7:57pm northguineahills:

When I was 13, I got pulled over in Japan riding a motorcycle of the neighbor of the Buddhist monk my mother taught English to his daughters. The popo just dropped me off w/ the motorcycle at th neighbor's.
Avatar 7:58pm Brian in UK:

Fran it is the old story; if what is happening here now was in some 'tinpot' country there would be some kind of outrage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm Fran:

Exactly Brian and it will only get worse - they are stirring up something that won't go back in the box and it stinks!
Avatar 8:02pm Franco Twinkie:

A week ago Mike Watt was featured in the food section of The Los Angeles Times talking about his favorite sandwich from the Busy Bee market in San Pedro. Also, a great picture of Mike sitting in the dirt enjoying said sandwich,

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm chresti:

No, not really
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm chresti:

One, thanks
Avatar 8:58pm Franco Twinkie:

Once I was at this show where Redd Kross was on the bill. I overheard this greasy biker dude who was tipping a beer refer to them as "Fuckin' Kross, maaan"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm coelacanth∅:

you don't have to order your next ones for fear of never getting up to the bar again!
Avatar 9:00pm Bill Mac:

Did I mention that I just watched "We are Twisted Fucking Sister" recently?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00pm coelacanth∅:

Fucking Roy Harper maaan!
Avatar 9:02pm Franco Twinkie:

"Let's fuckin' fuck!" - Dennis Hopper as Frank Booth in Blue velvet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:02pm coelacanth∅:

Mick Jagger got away with it.
the guy from slade -maybe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03pm chresti:

What about panchos?
Avatar 9:03pm Franco Twinkie:

David Crosby....Wait a minute! He didn't get away with it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm coelacanth∅:

who wore a poncho on stage? i know i've seen it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06pm coelacanth∅:

yeah Crosby. also maybe Curtis Mayfield and definitely the big dude in the Isley brothers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06pm coelacanth∅:

...or the big dude from war?
or both?
...did they get away with it?
Avatar 9:07pm Bill Mac:

I'd give them a pass
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08pm coelacanth∅:

my mother used to wear a poncho
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm chresti:

Someone in Santana must of worn a pancho, I bet
Avatar 9:09pm Franco Twinkie:

Jerry Garcia rocked the poncho in 1969 at Altamont, as did Mick with his cape. Fifty years of capes and ponchos in the California sunshine coming right up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm coelacanth∅:

so, is it pancho? not poncho?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm chresti:

Avatar 9:12pm Bill Mac:

Has anyone ever rocked mittens? or a muff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm coelacanth∅:

yeah i think Garcia might be wearing a poncho in the picture on Jesse Jarnow's profile page
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm coelacanth∅:

Marilyn Monroe?
Avatar 9:14pm Franco Twinkie:

Oh shit! I just remembered something. The first time I saw Captain Beefheart in 1972 he was wearing a cape with an angry cloud face puffing out wind. Years later I worked with his road manager who told me he bought Don that cape when all their gear and clothing was stolen in London.
Avatar 9:14pm Bill Mac:

Thank you and good night!
Avatar 9:15pm Bill Mac:

Ohhh yeah, during the Spotlight Kid Years right? I've seen footage of that somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm coelacanth∅:

i think this may be my favorite version of chest fever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm chresti:

Avatar 9:16pm Franco Twinkie:

Yup. They were doing a lot of those songs.
Avatar 9:18pm Bill Mac:

If the King wore one I can't knock it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm coelacanth∅:

Garcia: www.wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm chresti:

I might of had a muff, when I was about 6, in Illinois
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm coelacanth∅:

Elvis had many capes, of different colors, apparently
Avatar 9:20pm Little Danny:

Oh man this is my fave Poppy Family track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm coelacanth∅:

and i'm glad to be hearing this cheesy old chestnut
for some reason it pops into my head at least every few months, for years.
Avatar 9:23pm Bill Mac:

I compiled a list of my favorite 70 or so songs, that one if on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm chresti:

I never new it was the Poppy Family, I know the song from the radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24pm coelacanth∅:

the summer of turmoil
well, one of them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm chresti:

I automatically think of Billy Jack, whenever I hear which way you going Billy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27pm coelacanth∅:

critic Mark Deming states: "If the '70s were supposed to be about having a nice day, "Which Way You Goin' Billy?" shows the Poppy Family were one band waiting for a cloud to blot out all that annoying sunshine..."
Avatar 9:28pm Franco Twinkie:

I was putting up peaches, but I had to stop. All this poncho talk makes be want to stay close to the screen...just in case.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29pm chresti:

We'll sing in the sunshine....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29pm coelacanth∅:

you rockin' the poncho,Franco?
Avatar 9:31pm Franco Twinkie:

Not right now, Coel. But maybe I'll wear my bathrobe to the store in a while.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar 9:34pm Bill Mac:

You don't wear your PJs when you go to Walmart do you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm coelacanth∅:

the last 2 times i was accompanied to trader joes -once by my niece from my older sister and once by my niece from my younger sister - they both wore pajamas.
Avatar 9:36pm Franco Twinkie:

It was Sonic Youth that 'Kross' was opening for when I heard their greaseball fan modify their name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm coelacanth∅:

...and if Harry Nilsson got away with it on an album cover, then it's fashion - in my book.
Avatar 9:37pm northguineahills:

The last time I wore pyjamas outside of my bodega (4am, you might need to puck up some shit), I was at the local bar in Brooklyn, and it was a nice cool autumn breezy night....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Entering the Zzzzzzero Zzzzzzone.
Avatar 9:39pm Bill Mac:

I dunno, maybe it's me. I gotta be totally tethered in when I go out.
Avatar 9:39pm Franco Twinkie:

I have yet to go shopping in PJ's. I will however drag in the trash cans in my sleepwear.
Avatar 9:40pm Bill Mac:

Hey Ken!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40pm chresti:

I often wore pajamas when I took my son to school
Avatar 9:42pm Bill Mac:

Mom's can totally get away with that though.
  9:43pm John from Florham park:

Hello fellow listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm coelacanth∅:

really, any female can get away with wearing pajamas in public, under certain circumstances
Avatar 9:45pm Bill Mac:

Hey ho John
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm chresti:

His dad was not pleased, he gave me some fancy pajamas, so I wouldn't wear the ratty flannel PJs in public
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm chresti:

Nowadays I sleep in street clothes anyway
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm chresti:

The line has been blurred between sleepwear and awakewear
Avatar 9:51pm Bill Mac:

Let's try that again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm coelacanth∅:

i haven't owned pajamas since i was around 12 or 13. but i'd have to be very cold or very drunk before i'd sleep in street clothes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm coelacanth∅:

i do sometimes sleep in longjohns in the winter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm chresti:

Cold weather is a great time to sleep in street clothes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54pm chresti:

I love this Chuck Walker!
Avatar 9:54pm Franco Twinkie:

Once my dad and I were pouring a concrete slab for rehab job on this house. The neighbor was watching us over the fence in his pajamas with his hair standing straight up. The guy driving the cement mixer said he still had about a yard and a half of hot mix in the barrel, what should he do with it. Pajama man piped in and said "I'll take it!" The driver asked where do you want it? He sais just put it in my driveway. He just shrugged and threw the hose over the fence and let it go. The guy spent the next month busting it up with a sledge hammer...in his pajamas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm coelacanth∅:

i don't sleep once my pants are all twisted, which happens immediately. longjohns are okay though
Avatar 9:57pm Little Danny:

Thanks for the top tunes, Bill! Always a pleasure to have you here
Avatar 9:57pm Bill Mac:

Man I'd love to stay for this, but time's up! See you on the radio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm coelacanth∅:

haha Franco. sounds like something my father would've done. (but not in his pajamas)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm chresti:

Hi Danny!
Thanks Bill, enjoyed every minute!
