Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Mr Fab:

I'm here early. Where's my cheese?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Otis Fodder:

Are you in the Ambassador Suite? There was a last minute change announcement made by front desk and sent to employee pagers. If you are in the Chevron Hall, you just need to exit and make your way to the 2nd floor from the mezzanine and ask Walter, the door operator to guide you. See you soon for profits!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Mr Fab:

Don't know how many salespeople will make it today after last nights' party in the Lodge lounge. Never did find my fez...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Mr Fab:

Hey all you lazy Sunday people. I'm at work, but with a gloriously empty in-box. So far. If I disappear from the chat, you know why.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Otis Fodder:

As always, it's never about the numbers, it's about the individual, that key component of the program, that makes the program.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Otis Fodder:

I have a conference to host. Will be in and out of chat as well. Hope you all have a splendid time this week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Otis Fodder:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Mr Fab:

Let's all sing the company song! Whatever that is... "Creme de la Creme," maybe?
Avatar 2:08pm Linda Lee:

hi everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Mr Fab:

hi Linda! Care for an hors d'oeuvre?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Linda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Mr Fab:

You can actually rent Emil Richard's mind-boggling collection of percussion instruments:

There really is such thing as a 'death knell.'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Otis Fodder:

Holy cow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Mr Fab:

I think this is "8 miles High," not "Light My Fire." Which is fine, you dont' hear too many covers of this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Otis Fodder:

It's Eight Miles High ... album title is Light My Fire. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Mr Fab:

Oh duh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Otis Fodder:

Ha, gives me an idea now to mismatch all song titles / artists on a future playlist. Or put 'em in Pig Latin or Anagrams.
Avatar 2:29pm Linda Lee:

sorry man just flashing..
yes. horse dovers. thanks!! i'm really hungry now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Otis Fodder:

There's a Elmer Fudd text generator online too... that would be silly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Mr Fab:

Go for it! Sometimes when I'm loading songs into the Sheena stream, i realize that they weren't coded correctly, and there's no artist and/or song title. And if it's an instrumental, I sometimes have no idea what it is. So i've made stuff up. So if you see a song credited to, say, The Tor Johnson Experience...
Avatar 2:32pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 2:34pm Linda Lee:

absolutely dynamite set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Mr Fab:

Sure was! Just looked it up, and hey whatdoyaknow, Emil Richards is also on the Bob Thiele album.
Avatar 2:36pm Linda Lee:

i'm as live as i can be, bro'! i'm groovin.
Avatar 2:37pm Linda Lee:

.. on a sunny afternoon.
Avatar 2:37pm Linda Lee:

not 2525 is it?
Avatar 2:38pm Linda Lee:

oh my good lord it is! this song mesmerized me when it came out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Mr Fab:

I'm totally fruggin'/watusi-ing/mashed potato-ing to this one. A most frug-able selection, sir.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Mr Fab:

"The Hellers" is such a relic from the Mad Men era - an album by an ad agency?! But with all actual ads removed. "Meta," as the kids would say.
Avatar 2:44pm Linda Lee:

love the way they avoided any political statement on 'the news'. usually when a news broadcast was included on record it made a definite statement (like simon & garfunkel's 'silent night'). always striking out of context.
Avatar 2:45pm Linda Lee:

love the pseudo peter max graphic. peter max was absolutely everywhere..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Mr Fab:

Funny, yeah, two albums in a row w/the Pseudo Max covers. Poor Peter, his style getting ripped-off everywhere, (Actually, he wasn't "poor" at all, heh, I'm sure he did alright, but you know what I mean)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Otis Fodder:

Max Hommage and Flattery abound!
Avatar 2:50pm Linda Lee:

yes he did exceptionally well & licensed his designs *everywhere*. school lunchboxes.. everything. i was a fan & could always pick out his work from the copies. it had a trippy edge that the copies didn't quite approach.
Avatar 2:51pm Linda Lee:

plus he signed his! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Mr Fab:

One of those highly successful artists who will never be included in any art history books. (Maybe BECAUSE he was highly successful?)
Avatar 2:56pm Linda Lee:

yes, maybe. i'm not sure where he'd go, as far as genre. his work was more poster art than anything else. not comic art, not classical illustration, .. poster art that also went on wrist watches.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Mr Fab:

Hayman! Hyman! Ho-man! You're as welcome as can be...
Avatar 3:00pm Linda Lee:

i was **fascinated** by this Dick Hyman album when new, too. (thank goodness for older cousins & siblings!) loved the cover! i should really own it. alas, never have!
Avatar 3:02pm Linda Lee:

there's nothing like album cover art. such a neat package.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Mr Fab:

Speaking of sample-able drum breaks: Copper Plated Integrated Circuit's version of "Love Child." (DJs/producers: you're welcome)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Mr Fab:

Well now, I gotta find that "Adventure In Sound" lp,don't I? That was choice. And as it's on the lowly Tops label, it won't be expensive.
Avatar 3:42pm Linda Lee:

such great stuff. so amazed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Mr Fab:

I saw Bob Moog himself in person, talking about (among other things) the "Cosmic Sounds" album. he said it was the first West Coast LP w/Moogs - the album had already been recorded, and they added electronics over it. And he said the musicians working on it were excited: "Wow man, we're making real 'head' music!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Mr Fab:

just had to do a mess o' actual work/talk w/co-worker. Of all the nerve!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Otis Fodder:

Ha, sounds like my day, almost every day. Hello archives, yay! WFMU is so great that we have archives going back, far back, whereas a lot of college stations have limited, if any archives stretching back a few weeks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Otis! Been listening but not near a computer until now. Splendid show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Linda Lee!
Hi Mr. Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Rich, great to see ya!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm Mr Fab:

Heya Rich! Not only would this not soothe me after being abducted, I think it would creep me out even more. Hopefully, I'll never find out for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Otis Fodder:

Yes, one of the rules with T.J. is the door, always... stays open. Better yet, take the damn thing off it's hinges.
  5:29pm Jeremy:

I have dreams about it sometimes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Otis Fodder:

Dreams can manifest reality... reality realized in dreams... going to watch They Live again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm Mr Fab:

thanks to songs played earlier, I'll be dreaming of Lizard Men and Snake Women.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Otis Fodder:

Fab... Remember Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft ... they are your friends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Mr Fab:

It's so weirdly wonderful that The Carpenters covered 'Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft." I like when these very mainstream acts have anomalies in their catalog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Mr Fab:

You can't be done yet, i have another hour of work today! Thanks, Otis, you were really hitting all my buttons today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Mr Fab:

next live show here in the Room: the wild 'n' wooly sounds of Record Roulette Club with DJ Henry,
Mondays 2 - 3pm (EDT). See y'all there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Otis Fodder:

Got a lot more to play here, saving stacks for next week and will pull out more. Nice to see you all and have a nice Sunday eve!
  5:58pm Chuck:

thanks for the great show buddy!
