  3:32pm Space Age Couple:

Love House of Rising Sun!
Avatar 3:34pm geezerette:

  3:39pm nic:

i thought Donovan was horrible..........
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm blee:

Donovan still is horrible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm blee:

My parents were always pushing the Donovan. Never stuck for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm chresti:

geez, I'm always comforted by the fact that it's always hotter in Death Valley and Palm Springs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Fabio:

Too Bad, Donovan is great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm chresti:

Hey Gyp! Dig the slowness..
Swag For Life Member 3:44pm disantlor:

i was working in a bed and breakfast in college and Donovan stayed there one night while in town for a show. the shower head wasn't working so he called me up to take a look. after i fixed it he gave me a fist bump. first and last fist bump, but worth it.
Avatar 3:44pm geezerette:

Are you Doctor Dark,Fabio? Like Starving Weirdos.
Avatar 4:06pm ottovonbqe:

Fabio - I saw you on the street in Brooklyn outside the building where another wfmu dj lived. I sometimes wonder, were you there on some dj business, or was it just a coincidence. This was about five years ago.
  4:08pm the ice cream man:

wee loove youuu - Fabio
  4:09pm the ice cream man:

we accept no shit - only failure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Fabio:

@ ottovonbqe: Where in Brooklyn was it? I used to live in Brooklyn till 2016, though I still go to Williamsburg for work..
Avatar 4:12pm ottovonbqe:

7th Street in park slope. A notable ugly yellow building that was once a convent I believe.
  4:12pm listener monica:

i know someone in California who is receiving ketamine therapy. I will send her the link to this show after it gets archived.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Fabio:

@ ottovonbqe: yeah, probably just walk to/from home -- i useed to live on Sixth ave. & 5th Street
Avatar 4:16pm ottovonbqe:

That would explain it. This was between 5th and 6th aves. Haven't been over there in a long time, but do miss Martin's coffee shop and the general diveyness of 5th avenue past 9th st..
Avatar 4:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

This here nice nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm crateslinger:

I used to go to the Chip Shop on 5th Ave and 6th St (block away) every chance I got. Closed now.

Avatar 4:42pm KenW:

That cassette must be just goofing on the original album B2Beatles, damn, wish I could find what you were playing, f*cking tremendous,,, www.youtube.com...
  4:43pm zzz:

that last weirdo track (i guess the bach to beatles) had little bits/sounds that sounded like the what showed up in some rap albums, can’t place them exactly but some things from GZA liquid swords maybe and dr. dre the chronic.
  4:43pm brainiac:

@Fabio Might it be possible to play the Bach to Beatles James Last cassette in its entirety?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm tim from champaign:

If I could go back in time I definitely would go to those Desolation Center shows. I love the idea of taking live music out of traditional venues.
  4:53pm Ordinary Joe:

They are all dead. How many in coffins?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm tim from champaign:

Here's a link to a cool story about the Desolation Center events that are in the doc Fabio described. The article was written by former WFMU DJ Tony Rettman. thehundreds.com...
Avatar 5:05pm Linda Lee:

thanks for sharing, Fabio!
Avatar 5:06pm geezerette:

I heard a later version of this at LACMA. We all just walked around to heard from different parts of the room. I remember being delighted by the experience. It was also very funny.

Avatar 5:09pm Linda Lee:

a lady i cared for some years ago was the first treasurer for the ny mycological society & hung out a bit with the chair, John Cage. she saw many performances of his works performed by David Tudor in new york. she had great stories about that time to share. they had a ball, really.
Avatar 5:10pm Linda Lee:

i'm not sure why i capitalize proper names for humans but not cities. quirky!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm common:

Fabio, all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Failure to capitalize — happens all the time.
Avatar 5:13pm geezerette:

David Tudor performed Rainforest at Lacma, don't remember whether Cage was there, buy I love their music and way of being.
Avatar 5:13pm Linda Lee:

especially by me. anyway, they'd sit in the grass on their mushroom outings & have lunch while he told her about the interesting audience responses to his work. garbage thrown, the gamut. he was deilghted if the audiences were moved in any way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Carmichael:

OK, well, heya Fab and Fabuli. One thing I have recently learned is, upon return from vacation, your work still awaits you. As does new work.
Avatar 5:14pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 5:16pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 5:16pm Linda Lee:

they were traveling in the mid 60s, way before my time, unfortunately!
