A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Did you get pho at Thang Long Restaurant under the train tracks in a scary neighborhood? Donna B. recommended that place and it was amazing! But it closes at 8:30 because of all the hookers and junkies.
  9:43am Listener Robert:

Crowns feel like (and financially are) such an investment. One I had first came off its post; I super-glued it back on myself a couple times before I could get it professionally re-glued. Years later the post came loose and a dentist pushed it back in. Finally it deteriorated enough to be irreparable and then the root had to be extracted, with considerable difficulty that in turn loosened the tooth in front of it, which shortly afterward had to come out too.
  9:46am Listener Robert:

Those installations you don't know much about look like fountains turned off for winter, but the trees say it's summer.
Avatar 9:50am βrian:

Lovely skies over the isthmus this morning. My cat is basking in the bright light of the dining room window.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am strudlzrout:

I think the Hancock's song wasn't "don't hold it in", but "Making Love". Same album though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Trouble:

thanks @strudlzrout, i don't know the album. but according to the liner notes it says it is don't hold it in...
Avatar 9:57am βrian:

The cascade of yellow cherry tomatoes in the front yard garden threatens to overwhelm us. The living is easy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am strudlzrout:

Interesting. I liked the song so I went to add it to my playlist but it seemed to be a different one. Anyway, sorry, didn't mean to nitpick!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am Trouble:

no problem, @strudlzout, i can only write down what the album tells me. it is from the epic box set put together by columbia...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Passaic River Blues:

I still love this movie so much. Also puts one in the mood for Dorothy West.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03am strudlzrout:

Never heard of that movie. And now I see it was voted the second best film of the 21st century.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am ⓘⓚⓔ:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am tim from champaign:

I really like the International Airport. Is it from late 80s Scotland?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am ⓘⓚⓔ:

@βrian, I know, right? We asked about this. Their explanation is basically that Mt. Kilimanjaro belongs to all Africans, and they wanted an immediately recognizable African symbol. And I think "Dakar Restaurant" was already taken.
Avatar 10:26am northguineahills:

International airport's rec label is relevant to my interests.

@ike: There was already a Riviere du Senegal, or Sahel du Senega lalso taken?
Avatar 10:27am βrian:

We had a good Senegalese restaurant in Ann Arbor, though it didn't last.
Avatar 10:31am northguineahills:

Then there are the famous resort and/or surf beaches near Dakar (can't remember all the names (I should be hired to name ethnic restaurants).
