Good morning Mary and listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08am Stanley:

Mary!What a surprise.
Digging the Jeff Beck
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14am Rob W:

Very powerful piece by Masoud Rezaei, and Iranian expat who lives in LA. The vocals by the way are by Mohsen Namjoo, another excellent Iranian expat artist (who's based right here in NYC actually). Great stuff, thanks for playing it.
Avatar 6:14am duke:

Good morning Mary and whatevers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16am Rob W:

Erratum - I mean to say Masoud Rezaei is "AN" Iranian expat - and, good morning Mary and whatevers too!
Avatar 6:20am Mary Wing:

Good morning fred, Stanley, Rob and duke! I am waiting for my eyes to fully open, heh!
Avatar 6:24am duke:

This is a great selection of music for starting Sunday morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26am Ken From Hyde Park:

Good morning, Mary. Carol always sends warm, fresh cinnamon rolls to her listeners. She didn't tell you about that?
Avatar 6:30am Mary Wing:

Hi Ken! Oops, I forgot about the cinnamon rolls! Please forgive me and forage for some pastry.
  6:30am Peter from Dover NJ:

Good morning Mary. Listening in Bristol VT due to the magic of the internet.
Avatar 6:34am Mary Wing:

Good morning, Peter, the interwebs are a wonderful thing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48am Ken From Hyde Park:

I've been staring intently at the paisley, looking to see if a pastry appears. I thought I had one there for a moment. Getting cross-eyed, though.
  6:57am Marley Dogg:

Morning friends
Avatar 7:02am Mary Wing:

Morning Marley Dogg!
  7:03am LiXiviated Life:

hello my ghost friends
Avatar 7:05am Mary Wing:

Good morning Lixiviated Life! All the early birds are appearing!
Avatar 7:12am TDK60:

Morning Mary.
Avatar 7:14am Mary Wing:

Hello TDK60! Got coffee?
Avatar 7:15am TDK60:

..today I have yerba mate, heard of it?
Avatar 7:17am Mary Wing:

Sure, is it caffeine free?
Avatar 7:21am TDK60:

Oh no, it's got a type of caffeine which is why I drink it. (Ever see Argentine or Uruguayan tourists walking around with silver straws in round cups? Some folks travel with their mate, hot thermos on hand.)
  7:31am Crei6hton:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32am Stanley:

Reminds me I have to clean the fridge today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi everyone! Greetings from The Netherlands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34am Scraps:

h’lo hey Mary Wing. I don’t get to hear you live much when you’re broadcasting hours that I can’t listen; but when you’re broadcasting at the middle of the night (my time — Snohomish County, Washington), that’s my listening time. Cheers.
Avatar 7:35am Mary Wing:

Hello Crei6hton, Jan, and Scraps!
Avatar 7:35am TDK60:

I took up a yerba mate as an alternative to coffee. I use coffee if I'm /really/ tired. But coffee sometimes makes me too edgy, mate not.
Avatar 7:38am Mary Wing:

Ah, that's why I thought it didn't have caffeine. A friend of mine drinks it for the same reason.
Avatar 7:39am TDK60:

It's Big Blood, the psych-rock titans of Maine. Saw 'em at WFMU's own Monty Hall several years back. Hope they come back someday.
  7:39am John from Florham park:

Hey Mary nice to hear you on Sunday morning
Avatar 7:41am TDK60:

..some people can't take the taste of yerba mate, a bitter grassy taste. Some add milk, sugar; I usually drink it plain.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44am fred:

@Scraps: nice to "see" you here. David W. asked about you this week. Did you vote for the Hugo awards?
Avatar 7:44am Mary Wing:

Hiya John, glad you're here with us!
  7:46am John from Florham park:

I listen to you on Wednesday MW
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47am medson:

Good morning Mary and everyone.
This Rose City Band Album is so good.
Avatar 7:49am TDK60:

Morning Medson; and it's not so danceable, so you're off the hook.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am medson:

@TDK perfect for me hahaha
Avatar 7:51am TDK60:

I hear a slight Gratefuls influence from ancient San Fran. (Rose C.B.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am medson:

Ripley Johnson from Wooden Shjips and Moon Duo has his hand in Rose CB
Avatar 7:53am Mary Wing:

Morning, Medson! And it's on sweet green vinyl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55am medson:

@Mary I know, I have it and play it a lot LOL : )
At least it wasn't clear vinyl you had to queue up ; )
Avatar 7:57am Mary Wing:

Yeah, clear vinyl is the worst to cue, I swear. Pretty, yes, but not a DJ's friend.
  7:58am John from Florham park:

@Medson what are you doing here today wrong show:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09am medson:

@John from FP I woke up as early as I could to hear Mary Wing.
She's great and she's a great bowler
Avatar 8:09am TDK60:

..oh, Thom Yorke has a new one?
  8:10am John from Florham park:

Gotcha medson
Avatar 8:10am Mary Wing:

Heh, oh hush Medson! You'll ruin my ringer opportunities!
  8:11am Listener Bop Monroe:

Greetings from Bay Ridge via Tannersville.
Great show, Ms. Wing!!
  8:13am Listener Bop Monroe:

not a single thing prior to 2009...! incredible. great!
  8:14am Listener Bop Monroe:

ok, 77....!
Avatar 8:17am TDK60:

1977 - that other century. Funny, there are people now who don't recall the 20th Century. (I do, hehe.)
Avatar 8:18am Mary Wing:

Hi Bop, I like to stay in the present, mostly... until some old song needs to be played, heh.
  8:20am Listener Bop Monroe:

its all good, Ms. W.
happy early sunday to us all!
time for toast and tea.
  8:22am ignatatus666:

You are playing a great set
Thank you
Avatar 8:22am TDK60:

...and tho most of this music is of Now, I do hear echoes of that other century.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23am Scraps:

Fred, I haven’t voted for the Hugo awards in more than thirty years; you mostly have to be a member of the Worldcon to vote, and I haven’t been at a Worldcon in, gosh, I think 1986 in Atlanta? Something like that.

That is a weird question to answer in a WFMU comment board!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24am medson:

Great set right here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28am fred:

@Scraps: It's a weird question, but listener sphere mentioned the awards and I thought you might be a voter. Not that I know anything about it
Avatar 8:28am TDK60:

Medson: I can only concur.
  8:35am Listener Bop Monroe:

true sci-fi geekdom before 9am. love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38am Dave in Vermont:

speaking of Hugo, there's a new Ursula K. LeGuin doc on PBS. Too bad it's only 53 minutes...
  8:40am Listener Bop Monroe:

wow, i thought it was badfinger...!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42am medson:

@Mary gotta shove off, I'll be listening though :
Hope to see ya soon
Avatar 8:42am TDK60:

Dave: at least there is one, but yeh, 53 min?
Avatar 8:43am Mary Wing:

Toodles, medson!
  8:45am Listener Bop Monroe:

7 mins to fund raise of course. good doc. saw it friday nite.
Avatar 8:47am Mary Wing:

What's the UKL doc called?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am Dave in Vermont:

Oooh, not sure.. it is part of the American Masters series-I speculate that it was originally intended to be a feature length and the film-maker, Arwen Curry, couldn't get funding (she was kickstarting or something like) so they picked it up and cut it down to fit their format...but they do have some docs that come in at 80+ minutes
  8:50am Listener Bop Monroe:

American Masters
Worlds of Ursula K. Le Guin

Season 33 Episode 9 | 53m 25s
Avatar 8:54am TDK60:

UKL, one of my dearest writers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55am fred:

  8:55am Listener Bop Monroe:

Will check your Drummer Stream on the 8th.
Swag For Life Member 8:55am Manana:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55am Dave in Vermont:
