I took a bunch of my Carolina reapers and ghost peppers and poblanos from my garden when I moved yesterday. I'll miss that garden. (There were no new herbs, but the eggplants were looking strong, and the milkweed attracted Monarchs and other butterflies. I hope the new tenants keep the milkweed for the sake of the monarchs.

@Doug: and as you know, Hawaiian music became the rage in the 30s in the mainland, and that's how slide guitar started to become mainstay in country music (although there was a second burst in the early 60s)

Doug, My grandfather walked from Aguascalientes where he was born, to California when he was eighteen years old and never went back. When my grandmother would pester him to go back, he would reply; No! I owe Mexico nothing. He was a man of few words, but we always guessed something really traumatic happened to him as when he was a kid. Oh yeah, he hated priests too, so go figure,
