Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm ultradamno:

Who may have been named after a basketball player (Labradford Kranky?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm sphere:

i remember a nearby Tower describing Labradford as "uneasy listening music," which turned out to be a perfect description.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm ultradamno:

It was Black Sunroof at one point right? Which is controversial, but also kind of funny.
Avatar 4:58pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

stereolab gig in 1997 was the first date with mrs. Druid.
....so that went well, clearly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm mrdonutsu:

OMG, the Hee Hee Hee - Haw Haw Haw bugs!

Camped one time at Harriman State Park and there were about 10 million of these things going on at once.

Never have I been so glad NOT to have dropped two hits of acid before getting into my tent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yay this Program.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Rob (Jerzcity):

Glad they didn't play this when I saw them at MHoWBurg at the time. And glad I had earplugs as I was getting bathed inside and out with insanely loud bassssss instead
Avatar 5:11pm Creamo Coyl:

It was different live. Came out different recorded, almost like a NWW track. Live it was kind of epic and heavy. They opened a Godspeed show with it and it was both of those things.

and now for part deux....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm ultradamno:

  5:29pm MayJillar:

Sounds like a United pressing.

Cool Daddio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm tim from champaign:

I got to see Stars of the Lid at a planetarium. It was great. One of my favorite shows. That show is a perfect example of why I prefer shows in spaces outside of clubs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Kat in Chicago:

That does sound like a proper setting, tim!
Avatar 5:48pm Creamo Coyl:

That sounds awesome,l I know they've done a bunch in settings like that. Never seen em. Sounds ideal.

I think they played a church in NYC some years back, and this dummy didn't go for whatever stupid fuckin reason.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm tim from champaign:

@Kat - it the show happened down the road from you at a community college planetarium in Champaign. I was sitting near the projection booth. The planetarium operator was totally into. I suspected he was a NPR classical kind of guy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm ultradamno:

I saw Die Kreuzen in a church once. A stuffed animal was sacrificed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm tim from champaign:

It was super great seeing the operator improvise with the projections.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm ultradamno:

It wasn't exactly ceremonial, it just got thrown into the crowd and stuffing went everywhere quickly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Linda Lee:

lovely stuff. perfect for sorely needed inspiration. thank you Creamo Coyl!
  5:58pm Barbara:

Greetings from Wayne County, yes indeed massive thunder happening
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm ultradamno:
