Hiya pardners!
  9:02pm Chris Farrell:

It’s time for a ho-down!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm Sam Segal:

Howdy, Chris and Chresti! Hey, I like the ring to that..."Chris and Chresti." Name a more iconic duo! I dare you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm Asheville Jon:

Hey Sam
I must thank you immensely for turning me on to the Purple Mountains last week. Fantastic album, been listening to it a lot. I got a ticket for the Asheville show, which is at a small place about 5 minutes from my house.
Turned a friend of mine on to it(he's a Woods fan, so he fell right into it), and he's gonna see him in Philly.
Avatar 9:06pm northguineahills:

Last night, my friend and I were trying to move my music to his gallery/concert loft space, and thought it would take 2-3 hours, tops. When we moved one of my record shelves, that was damaged by my Brooklyn movers (when I moved to FL), It fell apart and broke. So, we got materials at Lowe's, and put what was left together at his place, and it only took 9.5 hours, I got home at 2am. I still need to tidy it this next weekend before his next gallery opening/ concert.
Avatar 9:07pm northguineahills:

(and just moving vinyl alone, leaves one hurting)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08pm Sam Segal:

Can't tell you how much that warms my hear to hear, Asheville Jon! Spreading the gospel of David Berman is one of this show's primary missions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm Sam Segal:

Oh man moving records is always a nightmare, NGH, but that sounds particularly frustrating.
  9:11pm Chris Farrell:

Nice new pictures @NGH and @Chresti!

This program turned me on to David Bergman’s work as well! His music is enjoyably moderate..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Asheville Jon:

A lot of the songs hit close to home, so there's that. Really good stuff, and I can't wait for the show (Aug 15).
Just really been diggin in a lot, and been re- listening to older Silver Joos too.
So thank you again!
Avatar 9:11pm northguineahills:

domo, chris!
  9:18pm Chris Farrell:

Buenos Aires would be a lovely place to live. If I can master the language that could be in my future.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm chresti:

Thanks Chris:)
Avatar 9:22pm northguineahills:

Argentinian Spanish is almost as foreign to the Mexican/Colombian/Cuban Spanish I know as Castilian.
Avatar 9:23pm northguineahills:

(those three are the only espanol dialects I can understand).
  9:26pm Chris Farrell:

Yeah they have a different dialect than northern South America/southern North America.

The first musician we heard was from a region of Argentina north of Buenos Aires.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm Sam Segal:

RIP Ras G.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm chresti:

Ras G!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm Sam Segal:

A legend of the Los Angeles beat scene! Passed away yesterday. One of the greats.
  9:47pm Chris Farrell:

Is that the Lead Belly song he wrote to be released from incarceration?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm chresti:

Wow! What a shock
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm chresti:

I would see Ras G a lot over at Poo-Bahs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Sam Segal:

Ah man, that's cool to know that you saw him, Chresti. I get the sense that he was a really important figure in that scene.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Sam Segal:

@Chris: Hmmmm I am not sure, but it very well could be!
  10:04pm Chris Farrell:

Never heard of Ras G before tonight but he died young..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm Ike:

Hello! How are the kittens?
Avatar 10:05pm northguineahills:

If I pass out, it's b/c my corporality has decided to stop. (so sore and tired from moving recs last night).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm Sam Segal:

Ike! I'm so glad you asked. They're delightful. Settling into their life with us really well. They have wonderfully complimentary personalities. Simon is an extrovert and Jasper is an introvert. They sleep together every night and play all day. Only problem we're having is trying to get them to stop climbing on the table when we eat.
  10:12pm Chris Farrell:

Your spirit will live on NGH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Sam Segal:

Not to worry, NGH. The archives will be there when you need them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm chresti:

Sam, Ras was part of was part of the crew at Poobah records in Pasadena. Although he was a man of few words we would at least manage to say hey at lease once a week in the shop. This is shocking and sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Sam Segal:

I'll try to put together a longer tribute to him for next week, Chresti. I was really shocked to hear about it a couple hours before the show started.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Franco Twinkie:

That was me, Sam. I just woke up and hadn't checked the control panel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Sam Segal:

At ease, Franco!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm Doug Schulkind:

Big galactic HORSE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm doctorjazz:

Ready to Pony Up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm Sam Segal:

Doc and Doug in the stable!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm chresti:

Thanks Sam!
  10:57pm Carmichael:

Heya Sam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm Sam Segal:

Hey, Carmichael! How's it hanging?
  11:00pm Carmichael:

It just is ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01pm Sam Segal:

Incredible how that works, isn't it?
  11:05pm Chris Farrell:

Loving the tunes. Making business law that much less stressful..
11:06pm Jeff g., post-dog walk, on the stoop, sweating:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Sam Segal:

Happy to be of service to you and business law, Chris!
Jeff! Want to make clear I am not playing this Kenny Chesney with a hint of irony.
  11:12pm Chris Farrell:

I saw him and it was rather disappointing. I went by myself and there was very little room to dance, someone spilled their drink on my shoes, and when I went to the rest room I missed my favorite song.
11:12pm Jeff g., post-dog walk, on the stoop, sweating:

What's irony
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm Sam Segal:

Irony is meeting your best girl for a malted the day school gets out for summer...irony is cruising the highway, shooting toward the horizon with nothing but a song in your heart and a wicked grin on your face.
  11:43pm Carmichael:

Irony is when the guy you punched out while high is your counselor in your sobriety program.
  11:44pm Carmichael:

Just sayin’ ...
  11:44pm Carmichael:

For a friend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Sam Segal:

Hahahaha of course! A friend!
  11:51pm Todd76%:

Thanks for the mood-adjusting sounds tonight. Much appreciated!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52pm Sam Segal:

Thanks for checking in, Todd! Much obliged.
  11:53pm Carmichael:

Pretty cosmic show tonight , Sam. Thanks for the vibes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54pm Sam Segal:

Thank you for dropping by, Carm.
  11:57pm Carmichael:
