I lose Dylan when he went Christian, not because of the religion, but I just didn't find a lot to like in the music. He's Dylan and he's entitled to morph as many times as he wants, but I can't be bothered to follow him. My youngest sister is a hardcore Dylan devotee and digs everything.

I never thought of that. Joni Mitchell, early on, had some of that vibrato as well (but I always let it pass in her case)

@Larry: Ken used to torture us w/ the Dylan xmas album regularly, until like 1984, we just accepted it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am

There's a composer at work who want to digitally impose a predefined and manipulated vibrato on a live singer's voice. I'm marginally involved (just get it faster) so I don't know how it sounds
Avatar 9:38am

Dylan has some decent stuff since the 80s, but it's rare and far b/tn IMHO.
Avatar 9:39am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Interesting point t about the Rhythm. So much is made of Dylan's words that his Music might be interesting to go granular on instead...certainly his collaborators... & yes I'm a fan. Although there can never again be anything like the way Dylan & the mid60s crossed Rach other like lightning.
Cohen always seems distinctly Not American (he's Canadian) - & not RawkaRolla. Bob idolized Little Richard before Guthrie...Leonard was already a fairly successful Writer before Singing...Sometimes I hear French Chanson & think Cohen's in that world...Lennon was also known for scanning a little weird Rhythmically...when you have words to fit...

Hey Revolution Rabbit Nov63 - I agree about Cohen falling in with the chanson-influenced crowd. I'm always amazed that a guy who was established as a poet developed into such an amazing songwriter, not just lyrically but melodically as well. Songs of Leonard Cohen is one of my favorite 1960s albums.
Avatar 9:45am

i bought the sage and rosemary, since i've never had great luck growing those from seeds. the parsley is coming along, though it's sorta silly for me to grow parsley as i might easily eat an entire plant in one sitting. same with lettuce, but i'm growing it anyway.

I find the whole Juggalo subculture to be largely harmless and entertaining (from a distance). Theire music is run of the mill hip hop (with weird, Juggalo-specific themes). They even have a couple of ICP movies. Naturally the FBI wants to classify them as a gang (while letting neo-Nazis run free).
