"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Are we waking up in the future today?
  12:06pm chresti in Griffith park:

Just so you know, I have to find a sweet spot in the parking lot to say hello.

Sunday, August 18, a jazz festival in Poughkeepsie. Along the waterfront just blocks away from the Metro North train station: www.jazzinthevalleyny.org

They pick their feet in Poughkeepsie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Krys O.:

Must be a typo. JAZZ festival.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Rich in Washington:

the new Carl Stone album Baroo is pretty cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm karlward:

Is this Steely Dan?
  12:44pm Ike:

For just a moment there, that almost threatened to become a Thomas Storck-Style Weather Report (tm).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm karlward:

Michael Mcdonald is always just around the corner. Watch your back.
Avatar 12:53pm John Allen:

i am going to get so close to conjuring michael mcdonald, beware
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Aaron Working In Newark:

Good Afternoon JA
Avatar 1:00pm John Allen:

hey Aaron, and everyone. Can I get a head count? I need to make sure "all jazz all the time" is working. thx
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Carmichael:

I'm a hydra-headed beast, so that could skew your data.
Avatar 1:06pm βrian:

Are you out there, John the Baptist? Be counted!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I'll answer this census as long as there's no citizenship question.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm karlward:

You had me at Psychedelic Backfire I. Now you're just showing off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm TomDash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Carmichael:

I am the recipient of one of those "test" censuses that Prez Coppertone sent out. it says all over it, "You are required by law to complete and return this form." As any good citizen would, I shredded it unopened.
Avatar 1:16pm John Allen:

fighting to get jazz onto the census
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Carmichael:

"Do you or anyone in your family play 'funky flute'?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm karlward:

Who else is trapped in the back of a van in the late 1970s, just an extra in a CHiPs episode?
Avatar 1:20pm John Allen:

1st generation funky flute = invader!
Avatar 1:21pm Chris from DC:

I think I may have heard this on an episode of "Mannix."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Krys O.:

Yay, Insect Trust!
Avatar 1:23pm John Allen:

Chris that only means at some point during this song you'll hear "clay pigeon' triggered
Avatar 1:24pm Chris from DC:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm karlward:

Obligatory reminder about my previous request: WFMU should get Mariah Carey to front a Saccharine Trust show.
  1:27pm Marie:

The drummers on these past two songs deserve a lot of credit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Krys O.:

Mannix makes me think of the parody that Bob & Ray did called Blimmix.
Avatar 1:28pm Chris from DC:

Ooh, have not heard that.
  1:31pm βrian:

Intensive porpoises?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm TomDash:

Sounds of Liberation reunited for their record release...possible NYC show in the works?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Carmichael:

Insensitive porpoises.
  1:37pm Andrea in Jersey City:

Yes jazz should be a question on the census
Avatar 1:37pm βrian:

There will be many citizens who believe they do not like jazz (but who secretly do.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Carmichael:

This sounds like that Sparks riff mixed with the Russian guy who only sings sounds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm steveo:

  1:48pm Kelly:

Avatar 2:46pm βrian:

We should all catalog our kinks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm jmr3:

Darn - I was hoping Adris Hoya was playing the drums again. I guess if your only band was Harry Pussy, there's nowhere to go but out. I guess thisis one of the "other" people from Harry Pussy - not Bill Orcut or Adris...
