"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Avatar 12:15pm Hubig Pie:

Got some fat, sweet rainier cherries yesterday at the market.
Avatar 12:17pm βrian:

Montmorency cherries, too. A few years back my wife used some to bake an epiphany pie.

So good.
Avatar 12:20pm Hubig Pie:

Listening to FMU while at work makes life a bowl of cherries.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Carmichael:

A guy sells them on my street corner. He has 2 signs: "Cherr" and "ies".
Avatar 12:23pm βrian:

A friend's mom, who grew up in southern Indiana, used to reminisce about "churr pahs."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm steveo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm tim from champaign:

What era is this harpsichord and organ piece from? My classical knowledge is really lacking other than 20th century muziks.
Avatar 12:28pm Hubig Pie:

A Hubig cherry pie is so tasty. Fried in lard.
Avatar 12:28pm John Allen:

@Tim: I have a feeling it's JAZZED UP 18th Century musics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm tim from champaign:

@Carmichael - thanks. I could only take it back as far as Keith Richards. There's always something that comes before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Krys O.:

My parents called them czereśnia. The Polish word is kinda close to cerises.
Avatar 12:38pm βrian:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Passaic River Blues:

Avatar 2:27pm Lixiviated Life:

A time traveler?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Kevin-san:

Just came back inside from yard work, can confirm NO ghosts of winter currently stalking here in NJ... super sound tho'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm chresti:

Yes, from the PST zone @Lixiviated
Avatar 2:37pm Lixiviated Life:

my word... an actual time traveler.
or are you a "time loiterer"?
one could argue that you're not traveling backwards in time but simply lagging behind.
maybe you suffer from "Chronic Time Malingering"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm chresti:

All of the above and then some, I'll always be 3 hours behind
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm tim from champaign:

I used to joke when I traveled from EST to central Illinois (CST) that I was going back in time.
Avatar 2:41pm Lixiviated Life:

Having lived The Lush Life for decades, I've opted for The Lixiviated Life.
Avatar 2:44pm Linda Lee:

what musician's bio was that? help me, friends!
Avatar 2:48pm Linda Lee:

got it. "Lush Life' is the biography of composer, pianist, arranger Billy Strayhorn ~ who wrote "Lush Life" as well as "Take the A Train." so now we know.
Avatar 2:54pm Hubig Pie:

That dive bar is on St. Claude ave. in the 9th ward.
