Avatar 9:13pm Andrew S:

Hey all haven't tuned in for a while, got thrown for a loop for a second, was wondering how there could still be traces of sunlight at midnight EST
  9:18pm MONEYBAG$:

when I finally got to see Television do this song live, it was...not good
Avatar 9:19pm slugluv1313:

Good Evening, Jesse and everyone!
ahh "Child of the Moon" so perfect right now :)
(and still so hard to believe that that song is fifty years old!)
and segueing into "Marquee Moon" . . . one of the best, most PERFECT songs, EVER
(damn i think i was at this Tom Verlaine show!!!)
"and I ain't waiting', nah, uh-uh . . . "
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm chresti:

Can't believe what happened to the Bonzos.

Avatar 9:29pm hillzy:

@slugluv1313 cancer szn in rx not doing any favours
  9:29pm mary:

Thanks whoever recorded this
  9:30pm MONEYBAG$:

this was around 2001 and was like a total "doing it for the money" show. they literally messed up the big rising section so bad that they stopped playing entirely
Avatar 9:31pm slugluv1313:

  9:32pm John from NP:

GD!! Not too late!
Avatar 9:33pm Andrew S:

@chresti what do you mean by what happened to the bonzos? Do you mean them not being able to use their name? Im just curious Ive always loved them but dont know anything about their doings since the early 70s
  9:33pm mary:

Don't stop!
Avatar 9:34pm slugluv1313:

@ mary -- right?!?
  9:34pm Ami Ad:

Hello D.J.Hello all.Wow,what a track. This guy always reminds me of Patti Smith. Thanks and Praise.
Avatar 9:34pm slugluv1313:

Avatar 9:41pm hillzy:

Avatar 9:42pm Andrew S:

Avatar 9:42pm slugluv1313:

i honestly do not recall the rest of the band members!
(although who knows -- i probably have reviews and/or the ticket stub lurking about in the black hole that is my apartment) (i am only half joking when i say that i should turn my place into a freakin' museum!)
however these reviews confirm you are correct:
Avatar 9:50pm northguineahills:

Never heard that Verlaine before, sounds even better then Television!
  10:04pm will:

Dreadful, that whole Rolling Thunder tour, walked out in 1975 Portland ME. Entire band seemed to have done quaaludes before the show, Might be the minority here, but hell I was there!
  10:10pm Sam john:

Now this is a set of music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm jj.:

funny, i associate that music with uppers & speedy things & heavy boozing more than 'ludes. hmm, doesn't seem like they played portland. augusta or bangor, maybe?
Avatar 10:13pm hillzy:

jj is the bloops you prankin or part of the track?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm coelacanth∅:

  10:13pm John from florham park:

Hello fellow listeners
Avatar 10:15pm northguineahills:

Subotick is where the Silver Apples got there name (as Simeon tells it).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm jj.:

Avatar 10:16pm northguineahills:

I could use some 'ludes, never have done any, but no sleep....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm chresti:

Lemon Balm, passion flower, scullcap, kudzu tea
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm chresti:

Avatar 10:21pm northguineahills:

@hillzy: I have that album, and the bleeps and bloops are part of Subotnick's "Silver Apples of the Moon" (1967)
  10:21pm John from florham park:

Some fantastic tunes tonite, where do the djs find all this great music
Avatar 10:24pm nfrae:

Loving this!
  10:25pm Dean:

The Subotnick...was it really on Columbia? Wasn't that a Nonesuch record?
Avatar 10:26pm northguineahills:

@Dean: Mine is on Nonesuch....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm doctorjazz:

Hi, great playlist, checking in for a bit.
  10:28pm Dean:

The Nonesuch is sorta the "classic," but perhaps there were other or re-issues?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Aitch:

Simian Angel is good/disturbing.
Avatar 10:30pm hillzy:

  10:30pm phillippe bastille:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31pm jj.:

good catch. brain fart. it was made with equipment at the columbia (university) electronic music center.
  10:33pm uru boris:

Bed vibes
Avatar 10:33pm northguineahills:

Body w/o Organs refers to Egyptian mummies, since the organs were taken out, and the album title refers to Egyptian gods?
  10:34pm uru boris:

Sweet dreams from philly the dead fish
Avatar 10:34pm hillzy:

@northguineahills gonna need the beepbloops in my life, thanku
Avatar 10:36pm northguineahills:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm doctorjazz:

My wife recognized it first, and said WTF?! Always a good sign.
  10:54pm Dean:

Still, nothing beats the high-pitched Rick Astley mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm coelacanth∅:

  11:03pm otto:

  11:04pm HellCat:

Because, ya know, whores. The reason bad things happen everywhere. Other than that, thanks so much. Have been surviving the torture! Never thought rock and roll could be so deadly! My extreme apologies.
  11:05pm John from florham park:

I am just here listening to some fine tunes
  11:05pm HellCat:

Please accept my apologies. Never thought being erotically explorative with nice peeps would actually be a bad thing.
  11:06pm HellCat:

But yeah that was actually the reason no one was paid a living wage for 40 years. Who woulda thunk? Not me!
  11:08pm John from florham park:

Like I said hellcat just listening to some fine tunes

  11:32pm Carmichael:

It can also be dug by me.
  11:34pm Dean:

I know I sound like a broken record, but I *really* urge WFMU programmers and listeners to check out the catalog of the (now defunct) invisible birds label. Gorgeous stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm coelacanth∅:

i can help, and i have extra shovels
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

got my gloves
  11:38pm Dean:

I apologize in advance, but this Park Jiha is beginning to sound like Supertramp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm chresti:

I am also digging
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm Aitch:

Part of a plot to calm us before Marcel comes to us freak us all out again. Nice show JJ
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

i just had this hilarious cartoon vision of everyone digging deep to the center of the earth, with Dean frantically waving and yelling at the opening, a million miles over our heads
  11:43pm Dean:

Must have left LA before there was a Largo, regrettably. It's in territory I know a bit.

Yes, GST, I wave and yell a lot.
  11:43pm Carmichael:

I adored Park Jiha. Can’t clicky star on the app, but will fo do tomorrow.
