I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Good afternoon!

I saw a video for Merle Hazard's bluegrass tune "Gimme that Old Atonal Music" and immediately thought of you Bryce. :)

real DJs of Jersey City? (I almost said "of East Orange")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Carmichael:

East Orange is the new Black.
Avatar 12:23pm Sem:

@sphere. Much obliged! Hilarious, and then some.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Ken From Hyde Park:

There should be a Bryce app for the phone where you put various marbles into the blender, then choose different speeds and see what kinds of sounds you get.
Avatar 12:51pm Hubig Pie:

Flying thru the Matmos-sphere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Ike:

@Ken from Hype Park, I'd buy that for a dollar!
  12:56pm Hi from Holland:

Aloha! Matmos has a bit of a NIN vibe to it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Carmichael:

NIN? I thought it was Chick Webb.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm sphere:

For me, this Matmos feels like Nurse With Wound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Barney Grubbs:

matmos keep it on theme in describing one old recording: “it sounded like Rahsaan Roland Kirk records being played backwards in a blender.” www.emusician.com...
  1:07pm Hi from Holland:

OK, so they put NIN, Chick Webb, The Nurse and Cpt Kirk in a blender...
Avatar 1:08pm Chris from DC:

Ahoy hoy
Avatar 1:09pm northguineahills:

Isn't NHK the Japanese state-run public broadcasting channel?
Avatar 1:10pm Chris from DC:

Yes, I believe so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Ike - A more ambitious app would be one where you select a DJ and different activities ensue. For Bryce, you get the blender; for Carol, pick a song and movie dialog; Jeff Conklin, a GD track and how many hours you want it to last; etc.
Avatar 1:13pm northguineahills:

Ahh, they are Japanese, w/ a Russian name as well (brain working again).
  1:13pm Hi from Holland:

Japanology is a very soothing YouTube channel if you're into Japanese TV (in English)

Wow, Errorsmith w/ Mark Fell!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm ⓘⓚⓔ:

@KFHP, ha ha ha, you picked that third one to rile me up, didn't you? The only thing that's almost as lame as Don Felder is a bad hour-long Dead boot with any amount of Jerry Garcia's inane caterwauling. (Admittedly some of the better ones are tolerable though.) As with Garbage Time, it was weird how the rest of that show was always excellent but it just had this one single rotten, malodorous pit at the center of the mouthwatering fruit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Carmichael:

Cyber Salsa, as in you dance over there and I'll dance over here. WWAAYY over here ....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Krys O.:

Once again the sounds of your show are similar to the ones in the production department at my job. I had to double check a couple of times. Yup, that was the radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Bryce:

i just mic'd a 3D printer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Carmichael:

Ike, you don't like incessant mindless guitar noodling??
  1:28pm John from Florham park:

Hello fellow Bryce listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm sphere:

Ike, you know Eleventh Dream Day's "Burn the Mars Hotel"?
Avatar 1:30pm northguineahills:

Lisa Carbon, one of my favorite Uwe Schmitt aliases...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Passaic River Blues:

@NGH: The Lisa Carbon output is all incredible. Thinking of that "Experimental Post Techno Swing" record makes me miss Instinct Records.
Avatar 1:37pm northguineahills:

@PRB: I like how Uwe made this story of a Costa Rican organ musician who made dance music for the debut album. I thought it was legit until I saw a Wire article a few months later....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm ⓘⓚⓔ:

@sphere, I don't but I love the theme! I'll check it out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Passaic River Blues:

@NGH: Oh man, it was introduced to me as a concept, but I would have definitely believed that storyline.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Michael 98145:

_Altered Carbon_ one of my favorite books.
  1:43pm John from Florham park:

Test
Avatar 1:44pm northguineahills:

@PRB: I bought for the album cover, and organs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm tim from champaign:

It's sounds like for this Nannok track that they used Gristleizer Buddha Machines to create it.
  1:52pm John from Florham park:

Is anyone here having a problem with the chats
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Krys O.:

Ooh, I was just watching a video of a musician playing a cello full of bees! www.bbc.com...
  1:54pm John from Florham park:

Or is it just me
Avatar 1:59pm Chris from DC:

That one line in the Mx Goldt thing sounded like "Interesting people believe in 1:30"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm tim from champaign:

That sounds awesome, Krys, The cellist is a brave soul!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm tim from champaign:

I think a really nice compliment to this set would be Holland Tunnel Dive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Bryce:

chris, close!!
  2:12pm mic_break:

A waltz! Nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Bryce:

hahaaa, not enough triple metre in electronic music
Avatar 2:19pm northguineahills:

@Krys: I'd do it (if I could play a cello competently), bees like me (I pet them in my garden).
Avatar 2:19pm Chris from DC:

Oh, duh me, read the title.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm sphere:

do sequencers and samplers support anything outside four-to-the-floor?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Krys O.:

I talk to bees and butterflies and dragonflies etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Michael 98145:

I do like dragonflies. The first sign of summer around here.
Avatar 2:28pm Cecile:

Bryce, you should check out Die Traurige Gaertner.
He's this 20 something from Austria who has a wicked sense of humor and primitive, catchy synth beats. Sort of like Trio if they did MDMA.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Bryce:

oh wow, i will! thanks!
  2:32pm wfmu_listener_phillip:

@michael98145 i love dragon flies too. at juniper vally park in queens you see sometimes swarns if brown dragonflies. they are the natural enemy of wasps and hornets
Avatar 2:32pm northguineahills:

@Michael: I love dragon/damsel flies, they eat mosquitoes (but it's reverse predatation for the larvae.
Avatar 2:33pm Cecile:

his videos are strange, inexpensive, and hilarious, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Carmichael:

Lovin' this funky hoomei.
  2:36pm wfmu_listener_phillip:

i have my EPI pen now so if a bee or wasp should sting me? ill survive. in deathly allergic to bee stings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Bryce:

wait a minute, fabio played this exact bit literally yesterday, lmaooooo
Avatar 2:39pm northguineahills:

@Bryce: And he played it Mar 1st of 2018 as well, when I originally clicky-starred it!
Avatar 2:41pm northguineahills:

Once I learned not to be afraid of bees, I hadn't been stung since I was 6. Wasps, I keep my distance, Hornets I give the side-eye, Yellowjackets are assholes, and can DIAF.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm sphere:

If you want a synth that can mess with time signatures, my quick search indicates that the Elektron Octatrack MKII Dynamic Performance Sampler is your only bet. FWIW.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm chris:

ita, ngh. one of my favorite pics i've taken is a black widow killing/eating a yellow jacket. hell yeah.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm chris:

and, hi, Bryce and all. been listening and digging the selections. a dancey blender today. nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm George of Troy:

Very nice, Bryce. Thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Bryce:

thanks, you guys!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Michael 98145:

Where's my horse?
Avatar 2:53pm Cecile:

Conchita Wurst is in NYC as we speak. Bryce, you should go find him at World Pride and ask him about a Hermann Nitsch collab.
  2:53pm mic_break:

My (pretty cheap) 20th century Boss drum machines could do any ol' time signatures by dropping steps from the 16-grid, with more complicated possibilities by chaining patterns, but yeah, in the 21st century it's pretty much all square-dance, all the time. Promenade left, swing your partner....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Michael 98145:

you could actually dance to this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm sphere:

thanks again, Bryce! so soon!
