Welcome back.
Avatar 9:07am Nick S.:

Good morning! Checking in, Jonathan! Lovely beginning. Cheers!
Avatar 9:07am Diezel Tea:

Good afternoon from the foothills of Ararat friends, listeners, and Blursed and Obscursed Jonnie Herweg.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am AndrewC.:

A rare opportunity to listen to Bl.&Ob. live. Nice!
Avatar 9:08am Nick S.:

I love Paul Bowles, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am melinda:

Howdy Herweg!
Avatar 9:12am Jherweg:

Hey everyone ! Pleased to be here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am Ken From Hyde Park:

Ominous good morning, Jonathan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15am sphere:

hey Jonathan. nice to hear you. :)
Avatar 9:15am Lixiviated Life:

I could get used to this
Avatar 9:15am Nick S.:

Bizz buzz in the eardrum!
Avatar 9:23am Davee:

Why is everything so blurry?
Avatar 9:24am Diezel Tea:

This Ben Vince is some ragtime honky tonk blues that's right up my alley.
Avatar 9:24am Chris from DC:

I have missed Organum, drat. Yay, anyway.
  9:25am The Butterman:

This is good make and eat pancakes to- music.
Avatar 9:25am Diezel Tea:

Any leftover glisteners - I had to miss Clay's show, so did anything stand out that you'd like to mention?
Avatar 9:26am Nick S.:

Clay set himself on fire at the end of the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27am Phillippe Bastille:

Hi all
  9:32am brick layer:

glad yer here JH!
Avatar 9:32am B/wad:

I love Blurred and Obscued. Welcome Jonathan <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am sphere:

I really dig Jonathan's bed music so hearing it always messes with my head.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am sphere:

There you go Chris
Avatar 9:36am Diezel Tea:

Sup @B/wad? Thanks, @Nick. I feel informed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am Ike:

@AndrewC, niiiiice nickname for this show. I'm going to call it Bl.&Ob. from now on. Although that gives me strange mental imagery of Jonathan starring in a direct-to-DVD remake of "The Blob". He gets eaten first.
  9:38am tripod:

Excited for the Paul Bowles theme. That Dust-Digital set is a beautiful thing to behold.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40am AndrewC.:

@Ike the 1988 remake of The Blob is actually pretty darned entertaining. Not sure if Herweg is in it or not :)
  9:44am brick layer:

whats that sample from in the seekersinternational tune?
Avatar 9:45am B/wad:

Sup Diez, you workin today?
Avatar 9:47am Diezel Tea:

Yeah, working and tworking to these tunes.
Avatar 9:48am Chris from DC:

Note to self, search for Organum later... Also digging the Paul Bowles.
Avatar 9:52am Diezel Tea:

Not that it matter too much, but Jonny Herwegz it seems made a typo for this album/track title. Oglon Day*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am sphere:

to the toad - "nostalgie de la boue"
Avatar 10:01am Chris from DC:

Yup, 3 CDs worth, wow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am melinda:

I enjoyed the Tangiers episode too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am Phillippe Bastille:

Man, that Bourdain suicide still bothers me. He was one of those people who's combination of kindness compassion and intolerance of stupidity is something I aspire to.
Avatar 10:10am Jherweg:

I know , he was so inspiring to me .
Swag For Life Member 10:11am Bucksomcounty:

Lovin your Paul Bowles tribute Jonathan. Definitely will be re-listening.Thank you!
Avatar 10:15am βrian:

I could imagine this with ravioli, too.
Avatar 10:27am Chris from DC:

That Shrilltower was interesting. Never heard them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am WillCrete:

Thanks for all the music this morning Jonathan. Really digging the interludes from Bowles as well. I've been going back into the stories of Bowles' associate Mohamed Mrabet much over the past couple of months, and these readings today equally delight. That "Oglon Day" cut was also popping especially well.
Avatar 10:32am βrian:

9 Beet Stretch for bed music?
Avatar 10:33am Chris from DC:

I was going to ask if the Sheltering Sky movie is any good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am Jeezy:

Evocative show, Jonathan! Really enjoying it...Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am maestroso:

Debra Winger & John Malkovich. Pretty good film but the book was much better.
Avatar 10:35am Chris from DC:

The Shrilltower thing is archival nostalgiedelaboue.bandcamp.com...
  10:35am Polyus:

I believe listener Lewis just returned from a Morocco trip.
Avatar 10:37am Hubig Pie:

Rode the train from Tangier to Fez, summer of 1981. It was during Ramadan and the place got crazy when the bell was rung and the faithful could break their fast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39am Luisa24:

The Sahara is a romantic place...and strange things happen there. I crossed it in 1993 and barely made it out alive. The wierd thing is I had decided to bring The Sheltering Sky to read. Like the book, my journey just kept getting worse and worse: Touareg rebels, sand storms, 15 year old military with AK-47's, endless truck breakdowns and flats, stormed by a mass of prisoners in an open air prison...ah but the stars, the music, the landscape...what an adventure! Of a lifetime!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am Ken From Hyde Park:

@Louisa - Wow, neat! Good for you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am Krys O.:

Adrian Belew has a lovely track on King Crimson's Discipline called Sheltering Sky.
Avatar 10:48am Chris from DC:

Morocco is kind of a bucket list trip.
Avatar 10:50am Jherweg:

Oh man mine too!
Avatar 10:54am Hubig Pie:

It's been several years, but the Old City of Fez still seems like some crazy psychedelic dream.
Avatar 10:57am Hubig Pie:

Course I might have ingested a few psychedelics back then too.
Avatar 10:59am Chris from DC:

Great show. Meeting time. Sigh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Kat in Chicago:

@krys I love that one
Avatar 11:02am βrian:

This has inspired me to read Sheltering Sky. My exposure to Paul Bowles is limited to the Bourdain show and a group photo taken by Allen Ginsburg. Thanks!
