Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm sphere:

Test of a disco singer: the ability to say "sweet stuff" and be sexy at the same time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Carmichael:

i’m driving down the shore right now, and this show is really amazing and keeping me from getting bored. thanks samantha!
  12:58pm Man Of Few Werds:

Sylvia's 'Sweet Stuff" somehow was not on the album called 'Sweet Stuff', but on an earlier, self-titled LP
  1:03pm Dan from Delco:

This is sooooo dope
Avatar 1:04pm Samantha:

The sheep really make it
  1:10pm Dan from Delco:

Loving the Brazilian tunes. Back to back shows with Brazilian music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm sphere:

this Carvalho E Seu Terreio is awesome.
  1:12pm P-90:

Sylvia is underrated
Avatar 1:17pm Samantha:

Agree 100%
  1:17pm Mark Williams:

Hey Samantha. Down in MS for work and randomly catching your show. Didn't realize you Sunday slot had ended (my bad). Hope you're well. The show is sounding great, as ever.
Avatar 1:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

back from meeting straight into the lovely murk of this quicksand. Reyes = new to this brain. Lovely stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm chris:

hi, Samantha and folks. really enjoyed that Reyes track, and into this Tyler the Creator track was lovely as well. digging the show muchly.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Mungerphut:

Yay Samantha's show at work!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm blee:

with Chris on this. digging this show, without a shovel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Carmichael:

This sounds like the beginning of the song that the nerds played in Revenge of the Nerds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm sphere:

@Carmichael - yeah, i agree.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Carmichael:

I am in agreeance with chris and blee.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Michael 98145:

so -much- great music on this station
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm sphere:

@Michael 98145 - indeed. we have a triple-A (Adult Album Alternative) station whose motto is "Music for Music People." Compared to WFMU, they're not even close.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Jackie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Stanley:

We have the much vaunted BBC Radio 6 over here.
Again, doesn't come close.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Michael 98145:

@folks, which is why there are so many hearts & radios on this board

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm JtotheK:

Have heard tracks off a different Catalyst LP - but not heard that Celestial Bodies tune before. Nice one!
  1:47pm Man Of Few Werds:

Yeah, nice one
  1:49pm Man Of Few Werds:

@ Stanley - I'm pretty sure not even the BBC vaunt BBC Radio 6, they tried to close it down a few years back.
  1:56pm Man Of Few Werds:

Love this Adkins; good pick.
  1:56pm prudy:

BBC radio6 does have a show curated by Iggy.
  1:57pm queems:

i have so been enjoying this show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Yes:

this is nice
  1:57pm queems:

sunday night on a thursday afternoon
  1:57pm schwartzy:

for a second i thought that was dubya
  1:58pm Man Of Few Werds:

Iggy, like most of BBC6 celebrity shows, just does the voicovers; doesnt pick the tracks.
  1:59pm prudy:

good to know...too bad he gives the impression HE chose them...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Carmichael:

I used to listen to Steve Harley's show some years back on BBC ... 3?

Sirius XM's Deep Tracks is nothing but classic rock major cuts by the same 10 or so bands.
Avatar 2:01pm βrian:

@Yes: Your avatar image is from Bread & Puppet, yes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Yes:

  2:03pm mekon86:

Love the Go Betweens, much better than the Beatles.
  2:03pm Man Of Few Werds:

Even if Iggy did pick the tracks, he'd have to choose from the extremely narrow type of music selections that 6 music ever plays.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Stanley:

@Man - The presenters think they're so great and are not shy in telling you that
And there is so much of that oh-so-chummy BBC chat, like they're our best friends.
Boring, to say the least.
Steve Harley show was good and so were occasional guests like Ray Davis.
Avatar 2:04pm βrian:

I have fond memories of Glover, VT.
  2:07pm Man Of Few Werds:

Every single member of the 6 music roster has some kind of speech impediment (which isnt their fault) but its a strange career choice with such an impediment. Thankfully, someone must have told Tom Ravenscroft that he sucks in with a flemmy noise between every sentence, bcuz he managed to drop it. Now he just has a very loud sucking in breath sound between each sentence. He has no breath control whatsoever. They need to learn a trick or 2 from Tony Blackburn.
Avatar 2:08pm cobradan:

nice jams
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Stanley:

I remember that sucky breath fella.
He spoke too much, anyway.
  2:16pm Marley Dogg:

Great show today!
  2:17pm Man Of Few Werds:

that kit sebastien track wuz dope
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Guido from Cologne:

Had problems to keep track on Cate's last show in Cologne.
Though the band were really grst.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm adampsyche:

i'm really enjoying the show today, thanks Samantha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm The Oscar:

Been lurking/working, but MAPS! I'm a sucker for this era of Boston punk/new wave.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Krys O.:

Yay, the Maps!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm The Oscar:

My dad might have known/been in a band with a member or members of The Maps, but I may have them confused with a different band of that scene.
  2:34pm Tracy Walsh:

The Leopards were an amazing band! Someone needs to give Dennis Pash some recognition and money for all his good work...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Samantha means business today! Keep it comin', love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm chris:

this Opus Minor is the merde!
Avatar 2:39pm Rev. Turnip Druid:
