Meet Mdou Moctar, the scorching visionary Tuareg rock guitarist! You may know Moctar from his star turn in the first-ever Tuareg-language dramatic movie, a desert-rocking adaptation of Purple Rain. Now he has a blistering new album, Ilana: The Creator (Sahel Sounds), which NPR Music calls "perhaps the most fiery psych-rock of the 21st century". Hear Moctar chat with Rob tonight and then come to WFMU's Monty Hall Wednesday night June 26th to see Mdou Moctar and his super-charged band blow your mind!
