Sammy, I love you, the best out of the rat pack, but: I don’t trust you, sorry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05am Scraps:

For one thing, one of your eyes doesn’t look at me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05am diciassette:

I'm not sure if I trusted him in Sweet Charity, either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06am diciassette:

OMG HI!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06am Scraps:

On the other hand, I’ll trust you over Lyndon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08am diciassette:

There was a guy next to me at the bar with a book about LBJ. He told me "he was on the wrong side wrt civil rights until he was on the right side." (he was very drunk)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09am Scraps:

Love love love Sweet Charity, but I don’t join any religion, even with awesome choreography.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10am diciassette:

But you were tempted, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10am Ken From Hyde Park:

I had an extra cup of coffee on Saturday so I could hang out here for a while on the last show. Hoping we'll meet again some sunny day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11am Scraps:

Well.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12am Scraps:

Omigod, “You Must Meet My Wife” is one of my five favorite Sondheim songs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13am Scraps:

Yes that much seems clear!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15am Scraps:

Ken, I’m broken-hearted, damnit. I hope it’s just the summer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18am BronwynB:

  3:22am Aunt Loris:

Good morninggggg
  3:23am Ross in Glasgow:

Final phase?! Oh no! We love the show so much. Looking forward to Act 2.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25am Goyim in the AM:

Long-time WFMU listeners know the pain of the last show before a hiatus is always exceeded by the joy of the next show back. Gonna miss you; gonna dig that Act Two overture.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26am Scraps:

diciassette, I wonder if the LBJ bio is Caro’s. That book(s) can make one exclaim drunkenly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27am Scraps:

(Because it’s great, I mean.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27am diciassette:

I believe it was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29am Scraps:

Waaah! I love Love Is Only Sleeping!

(“There, there.”)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29am Ken From Hyde Park:

Yay, happy 25th birthday. You can rent cars now without substantial penalties.
  3:29am yippie:

I think I could knock a few balls around
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33am Scraps:

Very very faithful cover of “Soul Man”. Almost makes me says, why?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33am diciassette:

Scraps, I am fixing you a martini! We have two and a half hours! We must be cheerful, sing the Marseillaise, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35am Scraps:

Swingin’ Baseball Party Music?? Maybe it =is= the original....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36am diciassette:

The F5 is *kind* of like an at-bat.. the count is 0-2..

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43am Scraps:

Martini? Thanks, neat please. Or as one of my girlfriends used to say, “Whisper ‘vermouth’ over the glass.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45am BronwynB:

@diciassette: i think it is 2 out of 5 now (this one and the last one are definitely the best haha)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45am BronwynB:

Martinis for everyone!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48am Scraps:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57am Scraps:

Haven’t seen it or heard it. Put off by rape for laughs
  4:00am Coleusound:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04am diciassette:

I am so waiting to pounce the the clicky-star for this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05am diciassette:

Okay, remind me to ask my mom what an uvula is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07am diciassette:

Thanks to WFMU I know that Leon Redbone died on the same day as Roky Erickson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08am Scraps:

Thank you! I was pleading for someone to play Leon Redbone. He was great, and I was distressed at his death.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09am diciassette:

I meant "Thanks to Scraps" (I'm going run out of comments)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10am Scraps:

(me too)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12am BronwynB:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am Scraps:

Good version of “Dirty Work”. Steely Dan had no bad songs, to me, which is... I don’t know if I can say that of any other band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42am BronwynB:

so many memories of listening to steely dan in the car with mom and dad
  4:53am ignatatus666:

Avatar 5:05am Billy Jam:

@Bronwyn B - damn you are digging deep tonite - like Stanley I too recall (but had forgotten) Sailor - @dicassette - yeah thought so - as I am sure you were the person who had posted about cycling by the Temescal Oakland Public Library with the tool lending section - I ask cos I am in North Oakland now and will be doing another live WFMU remote broadcast this upcoming Friday June 7th 4pm local Pacific time out of my spot here in Oakland with loud hip-hop, weed, wine, and wieners on da BBQ + in addition to inviting a bunch of local DJs and other hip-hop friends some Bay Area FMU family and wanted to include you - so if you are interested and free at that time (4pm - 5pm but will go later til 8pm) email me @ billyjam@wfmu.org and I will send u invite info - so u can roll thru and hang out - Coincidentally Bronwyn B (whose show tonite is killing it) will be engineering for me back in WFMU's NJ studios)
  5:08am Steiner in Whately:

Good morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am diciassette:

Whoa, Billy Jam. That sounds amazing! Hang work, as they say.
Avatar 5:22am herb.nyc:

Us toddlers will be well behaved while you parentally ignore us. We are happy for you. In our soiled diapers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23am BronwynB:

@scraps: i love your list!! im glad a weekend in the country is on there. my personal favorite sondheim song ever, and fav musical theatre song ever, is the worst pies in london. it contains my all time favorite lyric, "just the thought of it's enough to make you sick/and i'm telling you them pussycats is quick"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am BronwynB:

@billy jam and diciassette: i wanna go :( have fun!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am Scraps:

It was on my shortlist.....
Avatar 5:24am Billy Jam:

@diciassette - good and if u cannot make this week's remote from CA- will be doing more over the upcoming summer @Bronwyn B - didn't realize til now that you were taking the summer off @Bronwyn B thanks for playing Pete Shelley and you will be there in spirit and back in WFMU studios :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26am BronwynB:

good morning steiner!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27am BronwynB:

@herb: thanks hahaha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am diciassette:

Billy Jam, have you been to Andrew Noz' shop on Park Blvd? He's calling it quits and has GOBS of hip hop, rap, jazz, miami bass... not to mention "recommended oddities." I went by there today and did what I could.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am BronwynB:

@billy: glad you enjoyed the pete shelley...another recent loss
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36am fred:

@Bronwyn: Will there be no Bronwyn at all on the radio now? You'd better be back in the fall, this is not a good situation
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am BronwynB:

dont worry fred, it is only the act i finale. act ii will be bigger and better!
Avatar 5:43am Billy Jam:

@Bronwyn - yes and speaking of recent losses and an artist u played earlier - and Disney music - lets not forget that Leon Redbone contributed to the 2003 Will Ferrell movie "Elf" as the voice of Leon The Snowman and most markedly sang great duet with Zooey Deschanel of the holiday season classic "Baby It's Cold Outside" - @Fred -hiya over there in France @diciasset te- yes have been at that rekkid store back when it opened when I did a WFMU live remote broadcast out of the shop (in fact G Spot who joined me on air out of WFMU studios one week ago came thru too) - but did not know the shop was closing - although his former biz partner in the record shop had told me recently that he had cut out of the biz that was (understandably) a challenge - @Bronwyn B like all other listeners of your show am gonna miss hearing u on the air
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am BronwynB:

@billy: the first time i ever heard of leon redbone was in Elf! yes they sang baby it's cold outside written by frank loesser, songwriter of many musicals including guys and dolls (so when people complain about that song being problematic i feel the need to defend a member of the musical theatre squad)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50am fred:

I hope you'll be back in a slot that matches my listening hours, but at the same time I understand that these are tough on you. Even if I can't listen, I think it's important that the music you play gets played
Avatar 5:52am Billy Jam:

@fred I concur and am sad that Love Will Be Only Hibernating for the summer WFMU season
  5:59am ignatatus666:

Ya truly burnt the grilled cheese today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am BronwynB:

thank you fred and billy jam :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am BronwynB:

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00am randyfrommichigan:

Good morning everyone - getting up early, having some coffee, gonna head out biking once the sun is up
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00am fred:

Where else could I turn to get something like "I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper" stuck in my head for weeks? You have to come back
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00am diciassette:

O Captain, my Captain! I will miss this show terribly. Thank you!
  6:00am ignatatus666:

Well my shift is over
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01am randyfrommichigan:
