  6:20am adrian in mpls:

Morning everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23am Jeffrey Davison:

greetings spamoni, annie, fred, Cooh John, Nulsh, Buddha of Suburbia, adrian in mpls...
  6:32am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hi Jeffrey Davison. just returned from the ER last night after spending all afternoon and evening there. This music is my drug of choice. IT's just the right mix of nuance and serenity. Didn't mean to concern u with thw whole hospital fiasco. i am better now. Rather not elaborate if that's ok.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35am Jeffrey Davison:

Buddha, glad to have you here. Music is a healing force!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38am Nulsh:

Aw Boods. Sorry to hear you were in ER. Hope you are back to 100% soon.
Avatar 6:48am Tidepoolbay:

Good morning Jeffery! Everyone!
Avatar 6:49am TDK60:

Morning..
  6:52am Buddha of Suburbia:

Thanks Nulsh. Resting up today. As i mentioned been going through some changes. i will be ok in due time. Morning TDK60.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53am Nulsh:

Hey TDK60.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54am Nulsh:

Keep me posted Buddha. Hang in there!
Avatar 6:57am TDK60:

Good morning Nulsh; Buddha sorry to hear about ER trip. Was just awoken by shouting outside. For some reason I thought it was a protest but kind of early for that.
Avatar 7:03am TDK60:

..but things are turning so reactionary and backward, I'd be willing to go protest at 3 AM!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am fred:

@Buddha: Don't elaborate, just get well
  7:06am adrian in mpls:

one thing that has gotten better in the 21st C is queer/trans rights
  7:08am adrian in mpls:

always happy to hear some Davachi!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am Jeffrey Davison:

adrian: yes, and many other rights as well...though in the current climate I fear for these also.
  7:09am Buddha:

Thanks Nulsh, TDK60, and Fred.
Avatar 7:09am TDK60:

True adrian except I keep hearing about trans folks murdered.
  7:11am prudy:

good morning folks...just looked at the comments board...hoping for a peaceful day in the midst of the national fiasco..
Avatar 7:15am TDK60:

Morning Prudy, it is a beautiful day on this small planet; and most folks mean well I figure..
  7:17am adrian in mpls:

yeah - the current reactionary moment is scary - and assholes definitely feel emboldened. I’m trans and obviously the current admin wants to get rid of our rights - but at least generally we have a lot more legal protections now - but of course this varies based on where you live
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20am fred:

@prudy and TDK60: Over here the national fiasco is scheduled for tomorrow, when "fine people" are poised to win an election by a wide margin. They don't mean well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22am Nulsh:

Been listening to Mark Deutsch since I heard him here a few weeks back. Really engrossing music.
  7:28am Crei6hton:

Morning
Avatar 7:28am Andrew in Etobicoke:

Good morning Jeffrey and fellow planeteers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29am annie:

ok, all done with the day's news-reading, it's a beautiful morning here, although the humidity did not dissipate overnight.. done with this dog-sit today, off to another this coming week. each pet-sit gig is an excercise in New-floor- plan-yoga. i feel bad for all your troubles, fellow planeteers; i'm an aging activist. developing a POV which embraces compassion for all those experiencing these changes.
Avatar 7:30am TDK60:

...where's there, fred?
  7:31am prudy:

and the UK is braced to have blowhard Boris as the next PM. He and Drumpf can be tweedle dee and tweedle dum...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am fred:

@TDK60: France, EU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am annie:

Boris Who, prudy?
  7:34am prudy:

Boris Johnson
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36am fred:

@annie: google "boris johnson zip line" to get an idea of his brilliant plan for Brexit
  7:38am prudy:

in a nutshell a lot of people the world over are flocking to nationalism or tribalism as the answer to their problems...
  7:42am prudy:

Jeffrey, loving your show as usual. Thanks for your efforts every week.
Avatar 7:42am Zoot:

Morning Jeffrey,my dad was in the big one also. When my grandfather talked about the war it was the first one.He said they never thought there would be another one.He was from Scotland and in the British army.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am fred:

@prudy: What makes it even more sad to me is that I think nationalism and tribalism are a big part of their problems. The old divide and conquer. The ultra-rich who rule us don't acknowledge borders
  7:45am prudy:

right Fred. They're chuckling all the way to the bank!
Avatar 7:46am TDK60:

..the old divide and conquer yes, fred. One great hope is, the children and others worldwide calling for dealing with reality --on the climate.
Avatar 7:47am holland oats:

v pretty set good morning world
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am annie:

thanks prudy, fred..
Avatar 7:49am Zoot:

Aye
  7:51am prudy:

thanks for all comments..I'm trying not to continue commenting on the future as I find it pretty bleak, and it prevents me from appreciating the here and now.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00am Nulsh:

Avatar 8:01am Zoot:

Be here now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02am queems:

hi @nulsh!!
  8:03am prudy:

enjoy the city, Jeffrey!
Avatar 8:06am TDK60:

..it's interesting, we're encouraged to avoid politics/etc. on WFMU. I usually do. On this show it does get more political; when such comes up, most people here do have a "It's a small planet" attitude. (We need not all agree.) Mostly, we can and do discuss the fine music.
Avatar 8:06am Zoot:

Ghost town compared to regular mornings
Avatar 8:09am Andrew in Etobicoke:

Long weekend Zoot.
  8:09am DaveinPA:

I owe my regular mornings to coffee
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09am Linda Lee:

not sure what i'd do without theses saturday mornings, Jeffrey!
as for politics on the boards, i'm with hank bukowski.
  8:09am clarke:

i, for one, come to the chat because politics are mostly avoided, and the music is what matters - because that's the way it SHOULD be!!
Avatar 8:10am LynnsBrother:

Guten morgen from OH, USA. Great discussion on the comments. Whether it's words or worten, its all good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10am fred:

@TDK60: I'm usually not listening/commenting at this time, sorry to have spoiled this board. Don't worry, I'll be away in the future
Avatar 8:11am Zoot:

Music is the glue.Or is it duct tape?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am Nulsh:

Linda Lee!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am Linda Lee:

fred, the power of the board is such that nothing short of power disruption can sully it. have no fear. we need everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12am Linda Lee:

hey ho Nulsh! how goes it?
  8:13am prudy:

fred, no apologies necessary. as long as respect is present and sensitive to nuance, I think..
Avatar 8:13am TDK60:

Fred, not at all, you haven't spoiled the board, you are one among the rest of us discussing the world for a bit here. No problem. And I hear steel strings vibrating over a wood box so it's ok, (or is that a Spanish guitar with nylon strings? hee.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am Linda Lee:

"keep 'em guessing til they figure it out' ~ that's my strategy too!
  8:13am clarke:

..AND... this is a very nice set building, here...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am annie:

i love the fluctuations of subjects on some of these comments boards. i DO try to avoid a constant eye on them, though. i like that most commenters are civil and considerate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15am Jeffrey Davison:

welcome Crei6ton, Andrew in Etobicoke, TDK60, prudy, Zoot, DaveinPA, Linda Lee, clarke, LynnsBrother, fred
Avatar 8:15am Andrew in Etobicoke:

Thanks for the Townes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am Jeffrey Davison:

comments or side conversations, all allowed...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am Linda Lee:

the idea of a 'safe space' is somehow made silly by folks who don't need one ~ but that's what we have here generally. that means lots of room & a few obvious rules. it's good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18am Linda Lee:

thanks, Jeffrey.
Avatar 8:21am TDK60:

..but rest assured, I would not be here if it was mostly a reactionary setting. Luckily (because free-formers tend to love freedom) it's not like that.
  8:22am prudy:

tdk60: agreed
  8:22am clarke:

agreed, TDK, i can always just shut off the chat and listen to the GREAT radio shew!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am Linda Lee:

of course! :-)
  8:23am Cooh John:

TVZ! Good morning, LynnsBrother, from between the banks of the Scioto and Olentangy rivers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am Linda Lee:

me, i like the feel of hearing in a group that the boards offer. do remember when we had to listen alone at home. the boards are good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am Nulsh:

Linda Lee, I'm great ta. Doodlin' and listenin'. I love these three hours on a Saturday.
How the the hell are you?
  8:25am clarke:

also, this is just one guy's opinion, here, but i find the next show a little too "perky" for my saturday morning tastes. although, i can't think of a more appropriate time for that particular show, i find myself putting on some records instead. and then, tuning back in for the Shelley show.
  8:26am prudy:

a community of sorts..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26am Linda Lee:

my life's a trash fire darlin! nothing new there.
