"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

The "Upcoming Special Programs on WFMU" page already spilled the beans that Olivia is taking this slot, and now your gun-jumping "PST" show title alteration suggests you're moving to 12-3 ET somewhere. Any other clues as to what's happening on the new schedule, anyone?
Avatar 11:17am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Seems like the godfather of that kind of name treatment must be El Vez, the mexican/american Presley-styled bloke.. recall seeing that name around in early '90s (?)

Avatar 11:19am

Yeah, El Vez was definitely a forerunner, as well playing lead guitar for The Zeros before his "transformation". He's amazing live!

Speaking of gaithersburg/muffins/etc, finally scored a decent copy of their Random Radar label comp from back then..... lovely stuff.

I'm wondering if Olivia and JA are just straight-up swapping slots, or if Pseu might be taking the summer off. Historically Pseu seems a wee bit inclined to jump on and off the schedule at whim.

Yeah, as troll "events" go, it was pretty underwhelming. One constant irritant who plays dumb (SC) catfished a poor ol' ding-a-ling as far as I can figure. Write your own script based on that concept and it would probably be more entertaining.
Avatar 11:44am

Yeah, that semi-troll is almost as annoying as Markie Post, whom I hear was also zapped.
