Zats, I should stop debating and just get tickets for Mdou Moctar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...calls him Moctar cause he mocks the rest of us on Gittars...
I reckon yas KenfHP.
Avatar 12:40pm Sem:

Think you'll be glad you did, KfHP. Nothing but rave review from 'FMU-ers who seen the show.

Avatar 1:13pm Mary Wing:

ARGH, I can't seem to type today, so I promise to put all the links on the playlist later. How many typos did I have to correct in this one post alone? Ebery greaking worrd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Many times, typos are a result of one of two things:
A) Not enough coffee
B) Too much coffee
Avatar 1:24pm Mary Wing:

I have had no coffee; what's MY excuse?

Avatar 1:36pm Mary Wing:

For Mdou? Cool beans, crateslinger!
Avatar 1:37pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hey Wingettes! Mary, I wouldn't look for too many "remedies" from Mercury, unless it' has a first name of Freddie.

Heh, indeed, Kevin! Freddie heals me for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm crateslinger:

yes indeed tickets for Mdou. This will be my first time to Monty Hall, although I have been in the building and one of the broadcast studios before.

Avatar 1:53pm Mary Wing:

Howdy Michael, what type of music does Lila play?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Michael 98145:

she is from Oaxaca ( and the US ) and lets us love Latin music
Avatar 1:57pm JakeGould:

You know, I have been casually researching all kinds of fortune, luck and astrology stuff over the past few months… Symbolism, meanings and all that… And honestly I found a common conclusion: It’s all comforting and seductive bullshit. Fun in it’s own “conversation starter” way but still.

Maybe I should talk to Keano for more wisdom?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Michael 98145:

speaking of which, i just acquired a copy of Copernicus's "On the Revolutions of Heavenly Spheres" which i truly intend to wade thru. the holy fathers didn't enjoy it.

Avatar 2:09pm Mary Wing:

Hiya Stanley! Well, she doesn't do this pop shit no more, so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Michael 98145:

love this song ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Jake: To each their own. Myself - I think it's like most human endeavors: You get as much from it as you're willing to devote to its' depths. (Does one even know about one's entire BirthChart, for example?) Astrology for instance is one of Humanity's oldest endeavors - & people are just now translating many of the Ancients - learning Greek & Latin & Arabic just to do it - & so on... As for reconciliation w/ the awlmighty Religion of SCIENCE (voiced in yer best ThomasDolby exclamation) - I go to Jung in one sense - & Chaos Theory/Fractal Geometry/Systems Behavior studies - if I care to be concerned about it... More things in heaven & earth - as somebody well-versed in Astrology in an era when many Cosmologies were shifting once remarked... What it all might Mean in terms of grander Philosophical 'considerations' (which is literally: by the stars, btw) - rabbit holes on rabbit holes...
Avatar 2:09pm Roberto:

O noes she got et by da big bear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm crateslinger:

A new fire escape!? Never heard of such a thing! What does it look like? Is it made from polymers? Does it have bluetooth? Can you talk to it? Any event I can't wait to see it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

She such a Scorpio.
Avatar 2:18pm Mary Wing:

It's made of unicorn hooves, maybe? It's much better than the old fire escape; that's for sure. nearly broke my ankle on the old one!

Avatar 2:21pm northguineahills:

Si, MW!
Avatar 2:22pm Mary Wing:

How's spring shaping up down there? Hot and humid?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm crateslinger:

I was just reading an article this morning about how people used to fall off fire escapes all the time when sleeping out there before air conditioning. Now it's mostly just drunk college students and curious toddlers. The first Black Jean Valjean on Broadway fell to his death from a bedstuy fire escape the day after the play closed just a few years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 2:27pm JakeGould:

Oh, FWIW I find magic, symbolism and luck entertaining. But just stand on the edge of taking it seriously. I like it for what it is on a superficial level, not the depth others see. I am fascinated with the aesthetics. Aesthetics it shares with religions and gambling and games of chance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm steveo:

wfmu trivia, the only other program to feature a non-bjork human behavior (with or w/o "u"), was . . . Mary Wing in 2003.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm steveo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm maestroso:

I'm liking pretty much all of these.
Avatar 2:48pm Mary Wing:

Yes, I think this is the first 3oak with all songs clickstarred! (Although, when RevRab is around, there are always plenty of stars clicked, heh.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Björk, Yoko and Sun Ra = found all over WFMU but rarely anywhere else.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Rev9 has been covered...itself a deconstruction of the tune 'Rev'/'Rev.1' - two versions already - of which there are outakes & remixes...itself already an Impression of what the inevitable Revolution is supposed to sound like...
Clone Bjork - gets my vote.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
