Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am DouglasInDallas:

I remember seeing the read at Red Rocks and my much older brother already instilling in me bout to not lose my tickets. Thunder stubs folk were trying to get from me had acid in them
Avatar 1:07am Jeff Conklin:

Are you on acid now, DouglasInDallas?
  1:08am Hector:

Oh man, I've never heard this set before but I just looked up what they are gonna do... I'm going to be blown away aren't i?

  1:11am Jeff Conklin:

  1:13am Hector:

  1:13am greatbarrington:

Wow taking us to another world, strolling down a whole other land with this version of Playing in the Band
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am DouglasInDallas:

Sorry, yeah, @Jeff_Conklin I'm not on acid (bad phone app) now but in 1978 the Dead at Red Rocks apparently the ticket stubs had acid and my lil 9-10yo self was holding tight to my ticket as hippies were trying to get it and I'm microdosing under my brother's stupid chaperoning
  1:20am Jeff Conklin:

Hahha. Wow. Good shows to be at for a 10 year old!!
  1:21am Semmsem:

don’t think i’ve ever heard these dead songs before
  1:22am Hector:

Feeling that west Texas wind... so wild!
Avatar 1:22am Jeff Conklin:

@Semmsem: You must be new to this show? (Although to be fair, I never play El Paso bc it sux)
  1:23am Semmsem:

  1:25am ggold:

Avatar 1:26am Jeff Conklin:

Right on, semmsem, welcome!

Ggold: I don't really know but I know Bobby came out and sang with him in Boston a few years ago so there must be some respect there?
  1:28am ggold:

i wonder if he thought they were the greatest band ever
Avatar 1:30am Jeff Conklin:

Are you setting me up for that meme....?
  1:30am Semmsem:

Avatar 1:35am Jeff Conklin:

I dont know that artist or song but cool! Welcome.
  1:36am ggold:

  1:42am greatbarrington:

  1:44am Semmsem:

  1:44am greatbarrington:

"playing in the band" takes on this weighty tone... a sign of the times for where the band was headed
  1:45am :

This jam is abysmal
  1:45am greatbarrington:

  1:57am Semmsem:

Avatar 1:58am Jeff Conklin:

This show is about what I feel like playing at any given moment and thats very often the GD. You'll hear a lot here youll never hear on any other radio show.
  2:00am Semmsem:

oh rad! well it’s pretty enjoyable. i’m having fun hahaha
  2:02am greatbarrington:

I first heard El Paso during a Steve Martin comedy special. sorry, forever tainted by the absurdity https://youtu.be/LGNU5FkRz7g
  2:18am greatbarrington:

LOL that Steve Martin is hilarious. This is a hot take but I like the version of "El Paso" on Steal Your Face
Avatar 2:19am Jeff Conklin:

I generally cant stand any of Bobby's cowboy shit.
  2:21am Semmsem:

  2:22am Semmsem:
