Hello GeorgyGirl!
I'll be listening on my phone in our office lunchroom, heating up my pathetic can of lentils.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Man, like, we're headed down to the coffeehouse in the basement of Sheena's Jungle Room. It's Beats-ville down here, dad!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

HA!! :-)
Avatar 3:13pm
Mr Fab:

Jack K did read from "on The Road," but with music by Steve Allen, i believe? So i guess it couldn't be mixed with anything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

That's was Plan A but I couldn't get Steve Allen's piano and the library music to sync up :-(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

So you've got my dulcet tones instead ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

The Kerouac/Allen album is stunning, mind you :-)
Avatar 3:18pm
worldsworstrecords:

Today's playlist has such a 70s sitcom vibe... I'm loving it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Uncanny, isn't it? It's almost like Kerouac and Cassady were in this very room! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Oh my God, Darryl! YES!! lol!
Avatar 3:19pm
worldsworstrecords:

It's like watching Robin's Nest without the annoying actors interrupting
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Robin's Nest ... noooooooooooo
Avatar 3:20pm
Mr Fab:

"you've got my dulcet tones instead" - I'm imagining Dean played by Julie Christie driving around the UK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Julie Christie?? Blimey. I'm grinning now! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi everyone, just checking in to see if you're alright. I'm listening archives this week, I'm afraid :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hi, Jan! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi GG :-)
  3:24pm
Martinibomb:

Hello Georgy/Jan/Fab/WorldsWorst. Back from a walk and ready to get high wasted with DJ GG.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Yay!!! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

The jazz compelled you, MB ;-)
Avatar 3:26pm
Mr Fab:

Anyone ever see the TV series "Supernatural"? It's actually somewhat based on "On The Road," complete with soundalike main character names "Sam" and "Dean." But they're ghost-busters, not beatniks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

My daughter was obsessed with that show back in the day. I had no idea of the connection tho!
  3:28pm
Martinibomb:

I think if I had to pick one genre I could only listen to it would be jazz - only because I think it touches more genres than anything else. Plenty to listen to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

MB - I did a genre vs genre knock out thing years ago with friends, and got it down to the ultimate one for me. (Drum roll, please) - disco ;-) Yep. I love the nightlife ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Having said that, if you tried to remove any other genre from me I'd probably bite you ;-)
Avatar 3:31pm
worldsworstrecords:

Ohhh... I've just discovered you can sign in and stream Sheena via the WFMU app! Go me! I'm so down wiv da yoof
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

There's an app?? Excellent!!
Avatar 3:34pm
worldsworstrecords:

Indeed. Just found it, although it's pretty much just the same as the website
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm
Rich in Washington:

That's what I was listening on. It doesn't make commenting particularly easy, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

That's brilliant! I can put that on my tablet for the kitchen :-) Thank you for that :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Rich in Washington:

There's also an 'unofficial' WFMU app called Woof Mu, which has a few more features.
The Sheena stream's on both of them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm
Rich in Washington:

That's pretty much how I listen when I'm away from a computer. If it was on TuneIn like the other WFMU streams, I could listen all over my house, since they're accessible via our TVs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm
Rich in Washington:

The Sheena stream was on both apps immediately after the stream was launched. I think it may have been automatic, since neither app has been updated for quite some time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Just downloaded both to my tablet :-)
Avatar 3:39pm
worldsworstrecords:

excellent!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
Rich in Washington:

Is there an iOS version of the Woof Moo? I wasn't sure if it was just Android or not.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Not sure - I've got Android
  3:49pm
Domenic:

Enjoying this approach. Its like listening to a cool LP with commentary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you, Dom!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I swear this is the track they use in the SNL sketch where Kristen Wiig is Ann-Margret putting litter in the bin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Keep listening after me for Martinibomb and Medium Cool! www.wfmu.org...
  3:53pm
Martinibomb:

Was painting in the *zone* then thought GGs show had finished and panicked. It'd be funny if this show were live and I was late.. you could be like "hey wake up MB, wake up! It's time to do your show."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you all for listening this week :-) I'll be back on Friday for The Flange & Frigate Show :-)
  3:54pm
Martinibomb:

I'll be here. You know it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm

  3:58pm
