Hello fellow hookers
  12:04pm John from Florham Park:

@Granny hello again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

and HI! Pseu! (where are my manners? it's always awkward finding the secret doorways between WFMU comments spaces.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

John from Florham Park: feeling sassy today, eh?

still here for a while, i just remember the roads in hollywood looked like they needed the road menders when i last looked, but we must all get off the road anyway and follow Greta Thunberg
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hello, Pseu and hooking crew.
@Ike - Ha, glad you enjoyed that.
  12:09pm clarke:

testimonial: after many weeks on the road, i am catching up w/da Hook. just archived last week's show, this morning, to fight the dreary cape cod morning, and now midday, here - DAS BUENO!!!
  12:10pm John from Florham Park:

@Granny I am always sassy:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

Sass is an admirable quality, in my book.
  12:12pm John from Florham Park:

@Granny that’s why I like you, your pretty sassy too
  12:13pm listener monica:

it's Pseusday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

Golly, thanks, JfFp, i do my best to carry the banner of sass into the world at large.
  12:14pm John from Florham Park:

@Granny you do a good job of it too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

JfFP, i'm gonna blush! I think the "Spicy" in my name is a reference to the sassiness. I used to offer my services as a "professional heckler and free-lance go-go dancer."
  12:17pm John from Florham Park:

@Granny just spit soda out thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

I've been told by performers that i am an excellent audience member. I like to get the crowd enthused. Now i mostly pester WFMU comments boards. ;P
  12:20pm John from Florham Park:

@Granny you don’t pester anyone on here at all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

JfFP: you ought to check out The Night Owl comments. I am ruthless!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

This music is doing all it can to pep me up, and i still feel drowsy.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Phillippe Bastille:

@granny point me to some. I google Granny Spicy Tuna and I get FMU-related stuff, a Russian discogs page, and lots of sushi recipes
Avatar 1:00pm Roberto:

Wow, two quaalude-related songs in one week. Uncle Michael played Shel Silverstein's Quaaludes Again last Friday.

1:17pm Daybreak, the free, but responsible.:

You are very welcome Pseu!!!

I bounce form the conversation to actually commenting about the music. “I’ll Wait for You” speaks well of my 3 attempts to propose to my wife 12 years ago! Ha! Music comment and a story.

It's just that there are so many friendly listeners in these chat rooms, which is really unusual on the internet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

I am sorry if i have contributed to the narcissism here, i'll behave now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Phillippe Bastille:

I agree with Granny, Pseu. I love the music and vote with my clicky stars. But its the community and chatting with people is also part of the experience that makes this station great.

I am extremely jealous of all you locals who get to attend the record fair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Hughie Considine:

I have only very recently been alerted to the evils of self checkout.
Avatar 1:37pm Pseu Braun:

Self-checkout isn't taking away any jobs anytime soon. Plus, stores can't and won't pay anyone enough to do this job. So, there are no takers.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Mike Sin:

@Hughie -- I downright love that book! Even if I don't agree with all the opinions, McDonald definitely knew how to make an argument and express an articulate opinion. I've gone back to it so many time!
  1:54pm clarke:

but i WILL do self-checkout!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Hughie Considine:

@Mike it is my go-to. His ears are so sharp, the language is so precise and he really nails who's doing what. Learned some great musical terms too. Totally agree though about some of the opinions -- he's really harsh on "Baby You're a Rich Man" and others I cherish, but it's a hell of an achievement.
  1:56pm clarke:

Trevor, Constance, Brendan & Nick - these are the members of The Lucille Furs....!!!!
  1:58pm clarke:

hughie: i have lately found that Magical Mystery Tour is one of my fave beatle albums - it gets so underrated...
  1:59pm clarke:

it is actually the first album of theirs i got the week it came out - as i was just reaching the age of independent purchase around this time. it was between that or a model tank i wanted....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Mike Sin:

@clarke -- if you haven't already, listen to the mono version of the Magical Mystery Tour LP. It's a very different experience, especially at loud volumes, if you are very accustomed to the stereo mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Mike Sin:

@Hughie - right on!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Hughie Considine:

Times like these I feel a little guilty about making fun of "Lonely Boy" back in the day. You have to reassess a lot in the Vally of the Hook.
