I wasn't at the show but I saw on youtube that Roger Waters joined Nick Mason on stage for Set the Controls for the Heart of the SUn this past Thursday at the Beacon. It was a very endearing moment. Wish I could have gone

@spamoni: Is that for the same procedure that failed two weeks ago? Did it fail again last week?
Avatar 6:21am Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

jkeigh, I read an interview recently with Gary Kemp (he of Spandau Ballet), and learned that he is in Nick Mason's band. I need to check out that Youtube video you mentioned
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am CarolCrow:

Hello sweet cheri! Wishing you and everyone the same:)
Avatar 6:22am Brian in UK:

Hello Carol and early risers. Very hot over here. Will briefly work on the chicken run until it gets too much.
Played William Byrd's Mass in Four Parts this morning as my token religious experience.
Avatar 6:23am Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

Carol, love this Bulgarian Orthodox music. The low drone vocals remind me of Tibetan monks chanting
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23am CarolCrow:

Hello Kevin!
Avatar 6:24am Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

kind of Tibet meets Gregorian chant
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24am CarolCrow:

Hey there, Brian! Sounds like a nice way to observe the day:)
Avatar 6:24am spamoni:

@fred no that procedure went ok and was for something different than this one coming up.
Avatar 6:25am Brian in UK:

Kevin, ever seen Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares? A wonderment.
Avatar 6:27am Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

@Brian, yes, they are truly amazing. And I've spent the last 30 years trying to find an album I saw in Andy's Records in Norwich by a group called Trio Bulgarica, which I didn't buy at the time. Similar vibe, I think, just with a trio rather than the whole choir
Avatar 6:29am Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

t'internet tells me it was Trio Bulgarka...
Avatar 6:31am fred:

@Kevin: I once got to hear Tibetan monks chanting in a temple near Paris. It built up to being surprisingly loud
  6:33am sweet cheri:

carol, I have a confession, i'm all grown up now but I still LOVE eatinig chocolate easter bunnies, sounds weird, huh carol?
Avatar 6:39am Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

@fred That must have been a terrific experience. I've only heard recordings (so far...) - the Tashi Lunpo Monks have an album called 17 Golden Greats, which isn't a great name but it is a good compilation

Brian, I liked that there were gray hairs, middle-aged families, children and of course the younger 20s-30s partiers. A friendly atmosphere. My camping area had a circus tent with stage for music and its own restaurant. Oh! take your waterproofs; it rains often in Oxfordshire in August. Hee.
