Hi! Show sounds great from Varick street
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm heyitschris:

Heard a Claypool interview on Bill Burr's podcast but hadn't checked out the record he was promoting yet, and this sounds great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm EG_Astro:

  12:48pm Andrea:

That was a killer set

The 90s are kind of a blur for me... I won't disclose why. :>) Nice show, Pseu. I love Todd!!!!! I saw him at the winery last year for the first time. Finally.
Swag For Life Member 1:01pm davehamilton:

whoops! no I was at the Roger McGuinn one, good write up here (not by me) vintagerock.wordpress.com...
  1:01pm Marie:

Should I have prefaced my comment with "Apropos of nothing"?
Swag For Life Member 1:03pm davehamilton:

i hear vinyl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Hughie Considine:

Ah, Virginia Astley. Never gonna give her up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Hughie Considine:

I love that moment of frisson when you know the song but you can't name it. VW!
Swag For Life Member 1:15pm davehamilton:

can't beat a bit of frisson
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Krys O.:

How did you break into my eMusic folder? ;)

rebooting! nice Cat Stevens song - i love it, so does my wife
Avatar 1:29pm Listening Out There:

Cat Stevens. I'm sorry.
Avatar 1:30pm Listening Out There:

When will he call for the death of another author? That is the question...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Krys O.:

@davehamilton, I was joshing. Pseu has infinitely better sources than I could ever hope for. I haven't heard Vampire Weekend and Beirut in years and they reminded me of my eMusic subscription from that time.
Avatar 1:31pm Listening Out There:

When there's so much good music out there, why play his stuff? I know it was years ago...but still...
Avatar 1:32pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Cat Stevens song made me think of Harold & Maude movie.
Avatar 1:32pm Pseu Braun:

really? you're worried about Cat fkng Stevens?
Avatar 1:33pm Listening Out There:

Isn't there such a thing as...history?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Hughie Considine:

It was years ago, and regardless of how you feel about Harold & Maude, just let it go, @Listening
Avatar 1:34pm Listening Out There:

I guess these things just never happened. Yeah, that's it. [Sipping Koolaid]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Hughie Considine:

It would be a pretty half-assed act of integrity to not play "Here Comes My Baby" by a 20 year old Cat Stevens because of what he later said and then later renounced. Fight the good fight, not this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Krys O.:

Um, Listening Out There, take a gander: www.news24.com...
Swag For Life Member 1:39pm davehamilton:

great show! Must go home now - bye!
Swag For Life Member 1:39pm davehamilton:

hang on to your head Pseu!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm KevinfromBayRidge:

If we can't separate the person from the art here in the FMU listening world, then where can we?! Anyone up for some Charlie Manson?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Krys O.:

Used to have that exploding head symptom occasionally when I was younger and also had petit mal seizures. I also was a sleepwalker. Don't have those any more, but I have to contend with myoclonus, mild cervical dystonia, and ocular migraines. I feel for you, Pseu!
  1:43pm Websie:

Cat Stevens song made me think of Rushmore movie. (RIP Seymour Cassel)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Krys O.:

Saw him play with B.A.L.L. at their reunion. Bob is a great painter too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Phillippe Bastille:

Pseu, I used to have to deal with stuff that I guess may have been EHS but wasn't diagnosed. I started taking an anti-convulsant for another issue a few years back and don't have that EHS-type thing anymore
  1:49pm Marie:

I enjoyed hearing that C. Stevens song. I am for separating the art from the artist. I see it as a personal decision and I would not want to keep the art from anyone else because I object to what its creator did.
Avatar 1:50pm Pseu Braun:

PB - I take an anti-convulsant already. Damn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Krys O.:

Sad about Seymour. I stupidly left my VHS copy of Minnie & Moskowitz in a compact TV/VCR hybrid unit that quit working and was picked up for electronic recycling. :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Hughie Considine:

I gotta say this is Richard Lloyd's finest solo moment...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Krys O.:

I concur, Hughie.
  1:56pm Keith from Oregon:

KevinfromBayRidge: I believe WFMU has played Charles Manson in the past.
Avatar 1:58pm Roberto:

When it comes to gold-starring tracks, the Hook is most always a fish-in-a-barrel scenario.
  1:58pm Fernando P.:

I used to listen to this album by Richard Lloyd alot and always loved it. Haven’t listened to it in a while though. Thanks for playing it Pseu!
Avatar 1:58pm Listening Out There:

@Keith - You're right. I thought of hearing him when I later downloaded a copy of "Atwar."
Avatar 1:59pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

This song is describing me pretty well and it is eerie.
  2:02pm Marie:

What about Hitler's paintings? Ultimate extreme example. Of course, one could argue whether he deserves to be called an artist, but aren't they interesting as a possible window into his sick, tiwisted mind?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm KevinfromBayRidge:

That's the point, Keith.
  2:04pm Marie:

Micah's show plays music made by cults that are often led by criminals.
  2:05pm John from Florham Park:

If this station wants to play Charles Manson more power to them, I for one will turn that off until the song is past
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Phillippe Bastille:

@Roberto agreed
  2:06pm Mike Sin:

As usual, another great show, Pseu!
  2:06pm Marie:

love this bass
  2:07pm John from Florham Park:

@Pseu hugs another thing I would not wish on my worst enemy
  2:09pm John from Florham Park:

I still listen to cat Stevens his Muslim name and still makes damn fine music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Phillippe Bastille:

This Julia Jacklin album: {heart emoji}
  2:10pm Marie:

Someone might want to play this for Joe Biden?
  2:11pm Andrea:

Pseu you are so talented! Another nice set, ty!
  2:11pm Mike tp:

solid selections Pseu
  2:11pm Andrea:

Lol @marie. Poor Jim
  2:12pm Andrea:

I mean Joe. I actually think Joe is a great guy. He’s just a hugger
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Phillippe Bastille:

@Pseu ah. It may not be a connection between the meds and the EHS, if that's what it was for me. Only happened a couple times that I can remember. Was having optical migraines around the same time and they are gone as well. I hope you find a solution.
  2:15pm John from Florham Park:

@andrea joe is and that is all I am going to say don’t want to get political on here
  2:19pm KP in DC:

Hello, Pseu. Sorry so late
  2:20pm dano59:

Wow The Corrs! Real past blast!
  2:20pm SeanG:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm EG_Astro:

Glad to hear Julian Cope. thanks Pseu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Hughie Considine:

Man, between Virginia Astley and Tommy Keene and the Primitives and Margo Guryan and Julian Cope and Richard Lloyd, I feel like this show has been designed with me in mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Phillippe Bastille:

heading onto a conference call. Thanks Pseu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Krys O.:

That's the genius of Pseu, Hughie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm EG_Astro:

yesssss. i love this record
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Joe D.:

best best best
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Mike Sin:

I came to "The City" LP late in the game... always heard of it, but didn't hear anything in the grooves until I snagged a very nice LP reissue three or four years ago... Carole King was born to write songs -- such a clever writer.
  2:31pm Marie:

@ Andrea--yeah, I really like Joe Biden--I think he is an honorable person. I also want to apologize for bringing Hitler onto a pop show playlist... :>)
  2:32pm fletchernyc:

That Carol King really has something, huh? She should stick with it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Bill in W.O.:

I have always struggled a little with New Pornos, always felt like I was supposed to like their stuff better than I actually did (Kinda felt that way about Zumpano, too...hmm) But this tune is undeniable. Saw them at SXSW the year this came out. They were great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm EG_Astro:

stupidly commenting for every song, but yeah today's set is so soo good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Cool Runnings:

Enjoyed today's show Pseu. :-).
Avatar 2:45pm James in ATL:

Thanks for another terrific show Pseu! Have a great week!
