Listener comments!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hey everybody! Welcome to this week's show! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Rich in Washington:

I shall be listening from the kitchen, as is my custom. I'll here shortly unless I have a massive kitchen mishap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

See you in a bit! :-)
Avatar 1:05pm Mr Fab:

Hi GG! I am here, and ready to contemplate whether "curiouser" is actually a real word.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Not according to the spell check which keeps putting an angry red line under it! Ha! Hello, Mr Fab! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Georgy, Rich & Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hey Otis! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

This is the first time it's been light and sunny outside for my show - Spring is on its way!!! Normally it's really dark here in the future ;-)
Avatar 1:14pm Mr Fab:

I realized after Scott Walker died that I hadn't really added too many of his songs to the stream, just odd things like some cool surf and rockabilly sides he cut as "Scott Engel" and some Walker Bros ("make it East on Yourself = one of my all time fave Bacharach recordings.) But I will correct this, adding Lots more Scott, inc, yes . "Montague Terrace (In Blue)" .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm Otis Fodder:

Here as well, light jacket weather... but still cannot open the windows quite yet. Can't wait.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Otis Fodder:

Scott 3 and 4 would fit so well on the stream, as well as Songs 1-4 on Nite Flights.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

"She's swallowed in the stomach room" is one of the greatest lyrics ever written.
Avatar 1:18pm Mr Fab:

hey Otis, I just got "Night Flight" the other day. haven't listened to it yet, but it was one of those albums I'd been meaning to check out. Now's the time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Otis Fodder:

I love it, but just the first 4 Scott-pinned cuts. The others remind me of Toto meets Genesis at the time, I'm being mean, but they just never stuck with me and god knows I have tried. The first 4 though, my god, my god.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Otis Fodder:

I should!! Ha ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

That means YOU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I love the chorus on this Amen Corner track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Otis Fodder:

Great chorus and new to the song/band. I like!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The wonderful Andy Fairweather-Low :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I am freshly showered, cup of Rooibos to hand, and in my PJs. At 5:30 of an evening. DECADENCE. ;-)
Avatar 1:36pm Mr Fab:

Jealous! I just started work...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm such a rebel ;-)
Avatar 1:37pm Mr Fab:

These guys were British? I thought this was James Taylor's old band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Irish, I think. I may have confused them with another band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Rugby, not Ireland :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Rugby is ... erm ... mid to North England.
  1:41pm Rich in Kitchenton:

I am the world's slowest cook. good thing it's not how I make my living.
Really digging today's show, GeorgyGirl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you, Rich!! What have you been cooking up today? :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Otis Fodder:

Hello again, had to fix a site down for a client. Work never ends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Otis Fodder:

Listening though to tea talk and now the wonderful Donovan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There's a Donovan story in the next talking bit :-)
  1:45pm Rich in Kitchenton:

it's my customary diced potato (red), diced onion and peppers, garlic, with eggs fried in the middle and a side of fancy sausages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Your photo of that looked VERY tasty indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Otis Fodder:

What a story!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There you go - Donovan and Mike Hugg lead to me :-)
  1:50pm Rich in Kitchenton:

I came to this song via The Fall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

That's a hell of a journey!
Avatar 1:51pm Mr Fab:

Wow, amazing story!

On a related note, my wife turned down John Cusack. (And married ME?!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I think we can all agree that Mrs Fab is a very astute lady who made the right choice :-)
Avatar 1:55pm Mr Fab:

She probably thinks, "Sure, he's a movie star, but how many Mrs Miller albums does he have, eh, EH?!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Precisely!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Jan Turkenburg:

oh... shoot... forgot DST again... Hi everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hey Jan!! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Rich in Washington:

Back now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Rich in Washington:

I should probably haul my laptop to the kitchen next time, as the phone app makes commenting nearly impossible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm thinking about food now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Rich in Washington:

but I did find a way to connect my phone to the living room/dining area stereo so can listen good and loud.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Rich in Washington:

I'm eating now! No thinking involved!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Otis Fodder:

Same here, when listening to shows (post my show) I bring my phone or tablet into the kitchen but never chat. Laptop and desktop are in the office so run back over to chat.
Avatar 2:05pm Mr Fab:

I remember hearing someone on the radio years ago talking about Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit", and how weird he thought the line was about "a hooker smoking caterpillar". Guess he didn't know what a hookah was. I have this image of a prostitute puffing on a creepy-crawly insect rolled up in papers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I have some leftover pasta sauce wot I made yesterday so I shall make some pasta after the show finishes :-) I followed "Salt Fat Acid Heat" principles and it came out beautifully
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

HA!!! I'm doing a choking cough laugh now at that image of the hooker!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Rich in Washington:

I love improvised cooking.
Avatar 2:08pm Martinibomb:

Hello fellow jungle dwellers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

MB!!! Yay!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Rich in Washington:

Hello Mr. MB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ooo - this goes a bit Tuesday Afternoon in the chorus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Otis Fodder:

Hey MB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Otis Fodder:

I was working and thinking, I don't know this moodies cut. But it's not, wow... sounds so moody.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Doesn't it? It's gorgeous :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hmm . Temple Row is an area of Birmingham. I wonder if there's a connection?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Otis Fodder:

Very much so. Love the Moody Blues sound. Even the early 80s are great imho.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Written by Justin Hayward - it's a cover of a Moodies song :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Rich in Washington:

Geez. It takes about 45 minutes for me to cook my breakfast and less than five to eat it. Good thing I don't have a webcam active. It ain't pretty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Rich in Washington:

I like some of Hayward's solo stuff as well. No guilty pleasures here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Back in the 80s I cleared a rib restaurant. lol
Avatar 2:17pm Mr Fab:

I'm now mad about "I Must Be Mad." That was indeed nuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The Craig are brilliant :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Otis Fodder:

I love anagrams.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Oh my God!! Otis is Saucy Jack! lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Rich in Washington:

GeorgyGirl, have you ever heard Randy Grief's Alice in Wonderland thing? It's like a weird collage mix. I think it's in five volumes. It's sort of like The Orb doing Lewis Carol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Rich in Washington:

You're a naughty one, saucy jack! You're a haughty one...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The Orb doing Lewis Carroll? Count me in :-) Although you had me at "Randy Grief" :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Rich in Washington:

My son used to be able to recite The Jabberwocky from memory as a small child. I am taking him out for his 28th birthday later this evening. I shall test his recall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ooo! Happy Birthday to your son! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Rich in Washington:

one of my fellow late night DJs Miss Christy Pickles turned me onto that Grief project. It's wonderful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

THIS is the Irish band. Both songs about smiling - that's what confused me :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Rich in Washington:

I should get him on the radio again sometime. I started taking him to the station when he was a preteen and eventually he and some friends got their own overnight show and it was brilliant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Tell him if he doesn't get back on the radio then all of the Sheena crew will give him VERY hard stares.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's not unusual ... oh wait. lol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Otis Fodder:

It is, so much!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Otis Fodder:

I like to think Dave takes a nip of spirits in his coffee. I hope so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Rich in Washington:

my studio is like the Tardis, only instead of larger, it's much more cluttered on the inside than the outside. People alway say that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I wonder what Lewis Carroll would make of all of this psychedelic tomfoolery?
Avatar 2:39pm Martinibomb:

My studio is more like the Turdis. Stinkier on the inside.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Rich in Washington:

HA!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

LOL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Rich in Washington:

Since I quit smoking, I've become a hardcore incense junky. Maybe I have joss stick huffer's lung by now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Same!!!! I burn way more incense now than when I smoked!
Avatar 2:43pm Martinibomb:

hadn't heard that downliners sect before? I've heard other versions of that song tho
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I think this track may be a cover too ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Otis Fodder:

I quit a pack a day almost 10 years ago. Just over the past year however if I am out at a show or if I make for example, a huge crock pot of chili, I might have one on the back porch with a cocktail.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Keith Something ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm coming up to the year mark and I'm still in the twitchy stage.
Avatar 2:46pm Mr Fab:

Hey MB! Yep, "Why Don't You Smile Now? " is a Velvet Underground song. An obscure, pre-banana album track. Been covered a number of times, inc by a solo Moe Tucker. (and used in one of my RIAA mashups!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The last song is about 8 minutes long so you might want to make a coffee or tea and settle in ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Jan Turkenburg:

thanks Georgy! I'm not near the screen all the time, but I'was listening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you all for listening and keep listening for Otis :-)
  2:52pm Elle Elle:

Also have a listener who's been catching up on archives. so much so that i pledged post marathon. Hello :) this is my 1st chance to catch live. Have a great weekend all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Elle Elle!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Otis Fodder:

Wonderful show today Georgy. So many songs new to the ears. Happy weekend!
Avatar 2:55pm Martinibomb:

Hiya Elle Elle!
Avatar 2:55pm Martinibomb:

@Fab thanks! yeh I've heard a couple covers of it didn't realize it was VU. Thanks for zee knowledge! It's a cool track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'll be listening to Otis while doing my own cooking stint :-0 So may not speak for a bit after my show finishes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Otis Fodder:
