Hi Darryl. Give me your worst, I can take it!
Avatar 1:58pm worldsworstrecords:

I'll see what I can do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Darryl, hi mr Fab!
Avatar 2:00pm worldsworstrecords:

We're off!
Avatar 2:00pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi Jan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm joe:

'ello folks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Rich in Washington:

Hi worldsworstrecord!
Hi Mr. Fab!
Hi Jan!
Hello, Joe! Whattaya know?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm joe:

Woof that's a loaded question.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Joe, Hi Rich, Hi John-Bob
Avatar 2:03pm Mr Fab:

This Shatner stuff is the Sheena's equivalent of "classic rock." It's our "Stairway to Heaven" or "Bohemian Rhapsody." Only I'm still not tired of it!
Avatar 2:03pm worldsworstrecords:

Welcome, one and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Rich in Washington:

This was one of the first things I remember downloading off of Napster.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Rich in Washington:

Almost all the stuff I first started seeking out on the web was firmly in the kooks/outsider/golden throats category for some reason.
Avatar 2:06pm worldsworstrecords:

that's where I spend most of my life Rich!
Avatar 2:06pm Mr Fab:

Probably cuz that's stuff you would have been embarrassed to buy. You're supposed to spend your money on, y'know, "real" music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Jan Turkenburg:

I first heard it on Instituut Schreuders, a 10 minutes item by artist Piet Schreuders on friday morning on Dutch public radio, when that was still worth listening...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm joe:

Anybody have any idea who does the session work on the track? I have to believe considering the time period and area it has to be some interesting folks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm joe:

I have still have 2 500 GB harddives that I have not been able to access but won't give up on and primarily filled with stuff from before the file locker crack down.
Avatar 2:09pm worldsworstrecords:

No idea Joe... I'll dig out my CD version and see if there are any notes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Rich in Washington:

A lot of my web collecting habits had to do with being unable to find stuff like that in stores, really a dearth of good stores near where I lived at the time, etc. And I honestly never bought music online until well into the 2000s.
Avatar 2:14pm Mr Fab:

I don't see musician credits on the liners, but it says it was recorded at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood, where Phil Spector and the Beach Boys recorded, so it could very well be the Wrecking Crew.
Avatar 2:15pm worldsworstrecords:

I was just about to say the same thing, Mr F. He credits the producer and engineers, but that's it
Avatar 2:16pm worldsworstrecords:

Don Ralke, producer; Stan Ross, engineer
Avatar 2:19pm Mr Fab:

maybe the musicians begged to not be listed on the cover!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Jan Turkenburg:

ow... this is a painfull track...
Avatar 2:19pm worldsworstrecords:

But... we all need a friend!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, but not necessarily Bill Joy...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm ChrisB.:

Oooh, Don Ralke, creator of one of my favorites, "But You've Never Heard Gershwin with Bongos." It's quite good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello¬! I'm here but cooking dinner! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Chris, hi Georgy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm joe:

Thank you for looking. That's what peeked my curiosity it has a very Wrecking Crew sound to it
Avatar 2:22pm worldsworstrecords:

hey Georgy! Hey Chris!
Avatar 2:22pm worldsworstrecords:

No problem Joe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Rich in Washington:

Hi GeorgyGirl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Music on one side - bubbling on the other :-) Hi everyone :-)
Avatar 2:24pm Mr Fab:

Ooh, gotta find that Gershwin with Bongos album - Ralke's "The Savage and The Sensuous " is fine slab o' exotica.
Avatar 2:27pm worldsworstrecords:

There are a few copies on Discogs, Mr F
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Dinner made. :-) Enjoying the Mae West :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Otis Fodder:

Hello to Wednesday and Way out West.
Avatar 2:30pm worldsworstrecords:

Just found Gershwin/Bongos for a fiver. Bought!
Avatar 2:30pm worldsworstrecords:

hey Otis! Isn't it wonderful?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Rich in Washington:

Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Otis Fodder:

Classic Golden Throat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Otis
Avatar 2:32pm worldsworstrecords:

Does anyone know what the word is that Cara sings here before 'government'?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Rich in Washington:

Oo! This sounds song poemy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I missed Geoff Goddard! Nooo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Otis Fodder:

There's a great cover of this by Michelle Boule on Incorrect Music from 20 years or so ago. Might be online in the archives. Classic IM/Key of Z cut. Love it.
Avatar 2:33pm worldsworstrecords:

It is Rich, an absolute classic
Avatar 2:33pm worldsworstrecords:

Sorry Georgy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Good job there are archives :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Otis Fodder:

All of our archives will be online in 20 years too. Oh my!
Avatar 2:34pm Mr Fab:

Incorrect Music had a discussion on that very subject, Darryl. Some said 'asshole', but others somehow knew about this bit of Burmese history:
en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar 2:35pm worldsworstrecords:

lol!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Rich in Washington:

There's something about how they shoehorn really awkward lyrics into otherwise pleasant sounding, serviceable arrangements that tip one off that it's a song poem.
Avatar 2:35pm Mr Fab:

Cara might be literally singing "AFPFL"
Avatar 2:35pm worldsworstrecords:

Mr Fab! I Love you! AFPFL... that's EXACTLY what she sings!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm joe:

Well that was creepy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I still have The Enid's "Golden Earring" on 45. I love that record lol
Avatar 2:38pm worldsworstrecords:

It's a classic, Georgy... and it's coming up next!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I first heard that on Annie Nightingale's show back in the day. Happy times. Still makes me smile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Jan Turkenburg:

Agony Bag... their flute player's alright ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Jan Turkenburg:

at least with his kiss-mask on...
Avatar 2:39pm worldsworstrecords:

That's Clive Jones, Jan. There's a load of info on the single here: worldsworstrecords.blogspot.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Cue happy Georgy :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, I know. I can't help but love him!
Avatar 2:42pm worldsworstrecords:

I love this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm joe:

There is a photo on the Agony Bag site which may be the prototype for all of those Black Metal band shots that exist now adays.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Like a cross between John Cleese and Tim Curry on acid. I adore this :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you so much for this - you've made my evening :-)
Avatar 2:44pm worldsworstrecords:

Serious rarity from Mrs Miller coming up at the end of the show... you have been warned
Avatar 2:45pm worldsworstrecords:

Oh Georgy, I'm so happy!
Avatar 2:48pm worldsworstrecords:

Poor little duck...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Otis Fodder:

Looking forward to Mrs. Miller
Avatar 2:51pm worldsworstrecords:

Do the Hammer Lock, you turkey necks!
Avatar 2:52pm worldsworstrecords:

It's short but sweet, Otis
Avatar 2:52pm Mr Fab:

ALL RIGHT YOU TURKEY-NECKS!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Rich in Washington:

This is one of the finest rock n' roll songs ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm dancing off my pasta as we speak :-)
Avatar 2:53pm worldsworstrecords:

I'm with you on that one, Rich
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Otis Fodder:

I always liked to think that The Crusher song is the father to Fred Blassie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm joe:

I was absolutely heart broken when I found out that was not actually Reginald Lisowski singing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I completely misheard that as "Millwall wrestler"!! Completely different animal ;-)
Avatar 2:53pm Mr Fab:

pro wrestling: the official sport of Sheena's Jungle Room. Well, along with roller derby.
Avatar 2:54pm worldsworstrecords:

can't we combine the two?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm joe:

@Mr Fab and with that I have become a life time member
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Otis Fodder:

@joe - that would have been amazing, I know, 'crushed' here too. ;)
Avatar 2:54pm worldsworstrecords:

All-jn Roller Wrestling?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Rollerball!! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm joe:

What about Roller Derby and Curling as a combination?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Well, when we've had an evening in the bar a great deal of Hurling takes place .... Ba doom TISH! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Otis Fodder:

I can get down with some curling, followed by a nice Poutine supper.
Avatar 2:57pm Mr Fab:

This song's genius!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Otis Fodder:

... followed by hurling.
Avatar 2:57pm worldsworstrecords:

Poutine! I'm up for that!
Avatar 2:58pm worldsworstrecords:

Glad you like it Mr Fab...
Avatar 2:58pm worldsworstrecords:

That's all folks... hope you enjoyed the last hour
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Otis Fodder:

Open-End Interview gem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Rich in Washington:

OMG! Wonderful! Now I know what I'm going to torment people with on social media when it's their birthday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you, D! :-)
Avatar 2:59pm Mr Fab:

Bowling has a lot going for it: those shoes; bowling alleys usually have cocktail lounges and many have cool Googie architecture; and any song about bowling is bound to be funny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks Darryl, fun show!
Avatar 2:59pm worldsworstrecords:

Georgy is up next... all full of pasta and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Jan Turkenburg:

Thanks Darryl!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow. There was an open-end Mrs. Miller disc? The wonders never cease.
Avatar 2:59pm worldsworstrecords:
