Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Duane and fellow listeners. I'm listening in the Netherlands
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm AnAnonymousParty:

Duane, your bed music should include the sound effect of a train rolling down the tracks in the background. I mean, really.
  12:09pm John from Florham Park:

Hi guys @queems what is it like driving across that state
  12:11pm queems:

@john depending on where you are, it’s flat as hell for miles on end with some grass & cows, or flat as hell with some big mountains in the surrounding area
  12:12pm tfunk:

sup daddy Duane
  12:13pm John from Florham Park:

@queems in other words boring
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm AnAnonymousParty:

@queems, so it's like Kansas without the wheat?
Avatar 12:14pm Duane:

AnAnonymousParty: I always think that may be too corny:) Every once in awhile I'll do it..maybe on my birthday!
  12:15pm John from Florham Park:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@queems - Cool. You're so lucky to be in a different country today!
  12:16pm queems:

@ananonymousparty i haven’t been to kansas but i would imagine it is much grassier. this is mostly sand and scrubby bushes and sometimes short cactuses. very long freight trains too, so on topic
  12:17pm queems:

@john some parts are, but where i am now (gallup) is pretty colorful
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm AnAnonymousParty:

Oh yeah, been there done that. Watch out for that big hole if your heading into Arizona.

  12:47pm queems:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The marathon finale videos are up! www.wfmu.org... Get your kicks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm AnAnonymousParty:

So you got Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Barringer Crater (careful, you are in Meteor country) all along the way. Do take advantage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm zpulpa:

@queems, there are really nice hot springs in Las Vegas New Mexico is you are passing through!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm chris:

hi, Duane and folks. much digging of the musics happening today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm AnAnonymousParty:

If you do got to Meteor Crater (not too far of the main drag), and if they still let you, take the hike around the crater. Only 3 miles, gives you a better sense of how big it is.
  12:58pm queems:

thanks for all of the excellent suggestions! i know i’ll be hitting some of them on the way back
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Clay Pigeon would enjoy a postcard from Roswell, I'll bet.
  1:04pm queems:

@ken i unfortunately already went through there or i’d pick one up! i didn’t think about it at the time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm AnAnonymousParty:

Do the EAS test with a funky groove.
  1:10pm Mr. B:

What was the song that was playing right before the EAS test? I should know it but I can't remember. It's super famous funk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm zpulpa:

John Waters is in the bookstore I work at right now....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm Passaic River Blues:

@zpulpa: OH SHIT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm zpulpa:

Im in the back where I do shipping... I feel like I should do something but dont know what. Strong celeb aura.
Avatar 1:13pm Duane:

Mr B.: Stuyvesants-High Stakes Hustle is the track, but i'm not sure what the sample is
  1:13pm queems:

this set is fire
  1:16pm Mr. B:

Oh, right! Thanks, Duane.
  1:17pm cluebucket:

such a good track Duane! @zpulpa oh man... I dunno! a creepy wink?
  1:18pm cluebucket:

I rode a Bolt Bus from Bmore to NYC with John Waters and his assistant once. we exchanged a look as he emerged from the bathroom in the back (I was walking in the aisle to my seat). I overheard him referring to it as "the latrine"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm zpulpa:

He just left... I guess the owners of the store bought him a photo of hellraiser signed by the porn star Seka as a gift for helping with a big consignment. I missed my chance.. haha
  1:20pm Choggie:

Some Casio keyboard-soundin' snack right here...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm zpulpa:

back into his Buick and off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm Passaic River Blues:

I love every Mizell Brothers song that sounds like a software-spliced broken beat track but was actually recorded 45 years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Passaic River Blues:

BTW I only know about them because of Duane, of course.
Avatar 1:38pm Duane:

Mizell's were so amazing.. the pop stuff they did for Taste of Honey and Mary Wells is so underappreciated in my opinion
  1:49pm yes:

Duane ! These edits get me
  1:53pm oks:

oh,so good!
Avatar 2:06pm PKNY:

Woah, is this an OG of the Smiles? I remember this track ending Shadow's "Diminishing Returns" mix, straight fire!
Avatar 2:07pm Duane:

PKNY: Yeah its an advance of a 7" reissue that's droppin on RSD this year
Avatar 2:08pm PKNY:

nice, didn't see that on the RSD lists, might have to try to cop this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Passaic River Blues:

Man, even for Nina this is extraordinary.
Avatar 2:14pm PKNY:

It looks like that Smiles will be part of RSD in the UK, not finding it on the US lists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm The Oscar:

Been busy working, but hokey smokes this Nina!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm AnAnonymousParty:

Your brain is not the boss.
