Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Rich in Washington:

Alright, Darryl! Do your worst!
Avatar 2:01pm worldsworstrecords:

"I like to eat it with my mouth..."
Avatar 2:01pm worldsworstrecords:

Will do Rich!
Avatar 2:02pm Mr Fab:

Hi Darryl. Broccoli makes me puke, but I like this song!
Avatar 2:03pm worldsworstrecords:

lol! I've just had my daily portion Mr F!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Rich in Washington:

I vividly recall hearing this on the radio often as a small child. What kind of radio station did we listen to, though?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Jan Turkenburg:

This is one of my favorite themes. Songs about food!
Avatar 2:04pm worldsworstrecords:

I love this single!
Avatar 2:04pm Mr Fab:

I'm happy to see that this show already has some pledges. Click on "Pledge Now" folks, if you're as big a masochist as I am and love hearing this madness every week!
Avatar 2:05pm worldsworstrecords:

Oh! How exciting! Next time I will get my act together in time and offer up something special for pledgers
Avatar 2:06pm worldsworstrecords:

This horror was produced by Tim Rice...
Avatar 2:06pm worldsworstrecords:

Incidentally all - I won't be around next week: I'll be in London recording an audiobook!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Rich in Washington:

That sounds exciting, Darryl! Congrats and good luck!
Avatar 2:08pm worldsworstrecords:

Cheers Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Rich in Washington:

Have you done it for your other books or is this your first time?
Avatar 2:08pm worldsworstrecords:

the show will still go on, all thanks to remote trickery
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Rich in Washington:

I actually like this!
Avatar 2:09pm Mr Fab:

"She pogo-ed out on me"?! Oh my gawd, this is truly mind-boggling. On disco label RSO no less. Still '78 is pretty early to cover the Ramones, gotta give 'em (a little) credit for that I guess...
Avatar 2:09pm Martinibomb:

Hello people of Sheena's Jungle Room.
Avatar 2:09pm worldsworstrecords:

First time... I'm excited and shitting it at the same time!
Avatar 2:09pm worldsworstrecords:

Hey MB!
Avatar 2:10pm worldsworstrecords:

The B-side of this is a cover of Pretty Vacant
Avatar 2:13pm Mr Fab:

Darryl, will you be recording one of your own books?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Rich in Washington:

We have a community orchestra in the town I live in that is similar in vein to Portsmouth Sinfonia, but I think they try a bit to not sound as wobbly. It's mainly retired people like engineers and the like who played instruments when they were much younger.
Avatar 2:13pm worldsworstrecords:

Yes Mr F, David Bowie Made Me Gay
Avatar 2:14pm worldsworstrecords:

They sound like a giggle, Rich
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Rich in Washington:

I still wonder if Manson or Beausoleil had heard this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Rich in Washington:

Oh man.
Avatar 2:16pm worldsworstrecords:

Leave it to Beaver...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Rich in Washington:

geez. No wonder he faked his death in Vietnam.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Jan Turkenburg:

Just found out that it IS possible to pledge from abroad :-)
Avatar 2:16pm worldsworstrecords:

hahaha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Rich in Washington:

YAY!
Avatar 2:17pm worldsworstrecords:

Oh ace!
Avatar 2:17pm Mr Fab:

I saw a copy of "David Bowie Made Me Gay" at a downtown LA bookstore, as well as copies of Spacebrother Greg's book, "Weird California." The store needs its own "Sheena" section!
Avatar 2:17pm Martinibomb:

is there a place to send people to pledge for Sheena's?
Avatar 2:18pm worldsworstrecords:

That's great... I've not read Weird California, but it sounds right up my strasse
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Jan Turkenburg:

I think it's either a particular show, or WFMU as a whole.
Avatar 2:20pm worldsworstrecords:

"I believe his temper's just for show..." silly girl, Joy!
Avatar 2:20pm Martinibomb:

it's been a couple years since I last donated - I think it's something like you just got to the donate page and then you can enter the show. Am I correct?
Avatar 2:20pm Mr Fab:

So far as i can tell, i think Jan's right. supporters can click "Pledge Now" in that box up top of the page.
Avatar 2:21pm Martinibomb:

oh yeah! I see how it works now. I was clicking it but wasn't getting anything now it works tho
Avatar 2:23pm Martinibomb:

okay gonna save my hand for typing in my playlist today. Loved that Paul Jones track never heard it before.
Avatar 2:25pm worldsworstrecords:

Glad to hear it MB - I'll feature the flipside soon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Blimey ... I tune in to Tony Newley! :-)
Avatar 2:26pm worldsworstrecords:

This is excrutiating
Avatar 2:26pm worldsworstrecords:

Hey Georgy!
Avatar 2:26pm Mr Fab:

Don't leave, Georgy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hi, sweetie! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

LOL! I've heard worse ;-)
Avatar 2:27pm Mr Fab:

How a genius like Bowie gained so much inspiration from Anthony Newley is a mystery for the ages
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Tony Newley had his charm ... sometimes. Occasionally. lol. Ask Joan ;-)
Avatar 2:28pm worldsworstrecords:

Lol! He was a major star over here for a while... especially during the first half of the 60s
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

What have I missed ... ? Joy Sarney!!!! You played the punch and judy song!!!!! That used to drive me insane back in the day! God ... talk about memories. :-)
Avatar 2:30pm worldsworstrecords:

A classic... a nasty, violent, mysoginistic classis
Avatar 2:31pm worldsworstrecords:

*classic
Avatar 2:31pm Mr Fab:

You missed the Ramones classic that is one of this station's theme songs being turned into a sleazy ballad.
Avatar 2:31pm worldsworstrecords:

Lol! My aim is to impress and to educate!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I shall have to catch up with that ;-) I was stuck in an upload loop! Hence my lateness :-)
Avatar 2:37pm worldsworstrecords:

Petula Clark...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm coelacanth∅:

wow. never knew this show was here, and it really does seem to be the world's worst records!
(makes "atrocious music" look like a pretty class act)

... hi Darryl Bullock and others
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Linda Lee:

found you! fabulous!
Avatar 2:39pm worldsworstrecords:

Hello new friends... welcome!
Avatar 2:40pm worldsworstrecords:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

www.facebook.com...
Avatar 2:43pm worldsworstrecords:

I've just noticed: purely by coincidence I have two songs on tonight's show called Time Marches On
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Linda Lee:

i'm in aural heaven here. so tired of good music.
Avatar 2:43pm Mr Fab:

hi Linda, the shows are usually archived within a few hours after the show ends
Avatar 2:43pm worldsworstrecords:

hahaha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Linda Lee:

thank you DJ Georgy Girl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

"And who was that handsome so-and-so in the movie with them playing Paulie's grandad, eh?" lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Linda Lee:

is 'fan poetry with accompaniment' a hidden treasure chest?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm coelacanth∅:

(presumably neither of which are John Lee Hooker's "time marches on"...not his best record; but not on this level either)
Avatar 2:48pm worldsworstrecords:

No.. it's Robert "Jesus of Nazareth" Powell
Avatar 2:49pm worldsworstrecords:

...and he's up next
Avatar 2:50pm Mr Fab:

We need to start a twitter campaign about how Pat Boone made a record where they chant 'death to America' and throw him to the Fox news-type wolves. Taking things out of context is fun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Rich in Washington:

Oh Pat. What a tool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

LOL!
Avatar 2:51pm worldsworstrecords:

ohh... yes, lets!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Linda Lee:

downside: we have to start a twitter campaign.
Avatar 2:51pm Martinibomb:

Im in
Avatar 2:52pm worldsworstrecords:

It's still better than his version of Tutti Fruitti
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Rich in Washington:

I've got this great Pat Boone and George Otis record where they talk about what America would sound like once the hippies/communists took over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's the Voice of God. ;-)
Avatar 2:52pm worldsworstrecords:

That sounds like a must have
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Linda Lee:

my god, Rich ... must hear it. i've been wondering.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I love how you went God Botherer - Voice of God - Jesus :-)
Avatar 2:54pm worldsworstrecords:

It's not Time Marches on, it's Once Upon a Time - I had a brain fart when I was compiling my script
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Linda Lee:

i feel stirred.
Avatar 2:55pm worldsworstrecords:

Mst of it happens by accident Georgy... I wish i was that clever and calculating!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Rich in Washington:

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, hairy thunderer or cosmic muffin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Shhhh - claim it! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar 2:57pm worldsworstrecords:

I love it Linda - an absolute favourite
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 2:58pm worldsworstrecords:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar 2:59pm Martinibomb:

Thanks D
Avatar 2:59pm worldsworstrecords:

Let's go visit Georgy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm coelacanth∅:

this song isn't any worse than peter paul & mary's song about liking rock & roll music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, Darryl! Have fun recording! Luckily, you're pretty familiar with the material, no? ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Linda Lee:
