I just woke up. I have coffee.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Rich in Washington:

I have too much coffee!
Avatar 3:01pm Mr Fab:

Yo Otis. this is NUTS.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Rich in Washington:

This is groovy, Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Webhamster Henry:

I'm going to sell a VW after hearing this tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Webhamster Henry:

I hope you do a little Industrials set - including my 356 days contribution!
Avatar 3:03pm Mr Fab:

Ah, see the Marathon banner up top the playlist? Just appeared.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 3:03pm Mr Fab:

I humbly apologize.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Otis Fodder:

I could and should do a whole Industrials show with all the submissions collected here from friends, like you Henry!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Webhamster Henry:

Yes, the Pre-marathon mailing is out - so if you want to get in early or are a swag-for-lifer, you can keep track of the Marathon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Webhamster Henry:

I think due to the great purge of 2010, I'm down to maybe 3 Industrials now. Unless there's a box of LPs I'm unaware of somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Webhamster Henry:

But, chat list friends, there are plenty of industrial tracks still available from Beware Of The Blog!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Otis Fodder:

Just received the physical marathon printout in the mail today. Now need to pledge myself and get that new T-Shirt!
Avatar 3:07pm Mr Fab:

Oh, it's "I'm a Mechanical Man," didn't recognize it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm chresti:

Hi Friendly persuaders and Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Otis Fodder:

Henry is so correct, search out Industrial Musicals on the blobby blog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm Otis Fodder:

I can't even get my dates correct. Coffee!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm chresti:

Coffee came with Uncle Michael's show, in the comments
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Rich in Washington:

I like plethora.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Webhamster Henry:

Yeah I got caffeined out from Uncle Micheal, went to Wales with Georgy Girl.
Avatar 3:11pm Mr Fab:

is it "PLETH-ora"? Cuz the "Faster Pussycat Kill Kill" announcer pronouncer sez "ple-THOR-ah."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Otis Fodder:

I believe it is PLETH, I always fall over to PLE.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Jan Turkenburg:

No, you're not alone, there, Otis....
  3:14pm Germaine:

Hi!! I'm listenin'
also, I was curious:
"pot-pourri, 1610s, "mixed meats served in a stew," from French pot pourri "stew," literally "rotten pot" "
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Rich in Washington:

@Webmaster Henry: the coffee talk at UM's show was what prompted me to crank out some really strong coffee today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Rich in Washington:

OMG, Otis! This is fantastic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Germ! Ha, rotten pot!
Avatar 3:17pm Don-O:

Ah, I JUST missed the Knives & Spoons. Looks like I'll have to listen to that part later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Rich in Washington:

I had read about something like that recently - that stews were derived from a custom of having this pot at a constant simmer over a fire for many days on end, with things constantly being added to them as it's being eaten over time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm chresti:

Great- High school cafeteria band
This one too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Rich in Washington:

I used to sort of cook/eat like that when I was a bachelor - only putting the pot in the fridge when not actively eating/cooking it.
Avatar 3:20pm Mr Fab:

Yo Don-O, i think the Rhapsody for Knives, Forks and Spoons was posted as part of Otis' 365 Project, so hopefully the link is still good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm chresti:

We still eat like that. Pots stay in the fridge for months.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Otis Fodder:

@Rich - That is my scene these days. Bachelor life, cooking for one.
Avatar 3:21pm Mr Fab:

as of recent years, Marlin Wallace aka The Corrilions was still recording. Was in correspondence with his assistant, who sent me some CDs for my old blog.
  3:21pm Domenic:

This is wonderful
Avatar 3:21pm Don-O:

Thanks for the tip, Mr Fab. I'll have to look it when todays Sheena-thon is over.
Avatar 3:25pm Don-O:

I'm taking a break with this show as I JUST got Dr. Demento's Covered In Punk and the latest Firesign Theater "boxless" set within the last 2 days. Both a total 9 hours of "stuff" to pile through.
Avatar 3:25pm AdamOooh:

Oh first time hearing this, lovely....RIP JJ
  3:25pm Domenic:

Pat Prilly a pseudonym? The style sounds very familiar
Avatar 3:25pm Don-O:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Otis Fodder:

Pat Prilly = Jean Jacques Perrey
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Jan Turkenburg:

Duggy approves
Avatar 3:27pm Mr Fab:

Wowzers, had no idea this Raymond Scott Songbook thing existed. Must get.
Avatar 3:27pm Don-O:

Oooooh, this is beautiful from Downtown Vegas!!!!!!
Avatar 3:28pm Mr Fab:

yeah Don-O that Dr. Demento's Covered In Punk is all kinds o' wonderful.
  3:29pm Domenic:

I can tell who these artists are by just listening now. Don't need a playlist. No hope for me now ;')
Avatar 3:30pm Don-O:

Jimmy Dynamite was a screeching thing of beauty!!
Avatar 3:34pm Mr Fab:

There will be a quiz at the end of the show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Webhamster Henry:

@Don-O : Don't forget to bump your shoes!
Avatar 3:46pm Mr Fab:

gadzooks, the Raymond Scott Songbook set is selling for a whopping $62 on Amazon. Any American labels want to pick this one up, pretty pleeze?
Avatar 3:49pm Don-O:

That FT "boxless set" covers their live output from 1979 to 1982 and is 7 hours long. Only on Bandcamp. While i was picking up the Dr. D Punk set at the local record store, I told the cashier about the set, he was very happy! Then I told him you can only get it as a download, he became unhappy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Otis Fodder:

@Don-O - Vegas Show on YouTube for you, www.youtube.com...
Avatar 3:51pm Don-O:

Oh! Thanks Otis! Bookmarked for future Vegas use.
Avatar 3:52pm Don-O:

Per-taining Ta!
Avatar 3:53pm AdamOooh:

Mr. Fab, I have been holding off on that set despite being a small part of it. I can say that it was an interesting project in that all the artists seem to have been funded well enough to pay for studio musicians and al, not sure whether there was financial backing from an actual label, but the high price is probably an honest one considering the limited market for such a product.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Otis Fodder:

@Fab - AdamOooh played Alto Sax on a Kid Koala cut on the 2-CD Scott comp. It's a crazy labor-of-love deluxe package.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Otis Fodder:

I find J&H is soothing, with eyes closed. Pertaining to, AMSR.
Avatar 3:57pm Mr Fab:

Oh, i don't deny it's worth every penny. But if it is a Japanese release, those import costs drive up the price. Some American distribution would help alleviate a bit of that.

Otis played that track couple weeks ago, great stuff AdamOooh!
Avatar 3:57pm Don-O:

Avatar 4:05pm Don-O:

Is he done?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm Otis Fodder:

He is done, taking a nap.
Avatar 4:07pm Don-O:

I hope he doesn't talk in his sleep and set up another tour....or something.
Avatar 4:10pm Mr Fab:

I wonder if he's still waiting for a "respond." Pertaining to, Otis just playing his tape.
Avatar 4:16pm Mr Fab:

Oh man, i had this flexi from Grand Royal magazine! Holy cannoli, I forgot all about this, Hope I still have it.
Avatar 4:17pm Don-O:

One hell of a magazine. I think I still have the Moog issue.
Avatar 4:18pm Don-O:

I'm still laughing at "My Daughter The Broad" album title.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Otis Fodder:

I want the issues again, had them all in the 1990s. Moving and purging. Kept this flexi though, love it so much.
Avatar 4:18pm Mr Fab:

I think I still have most of the issues. Was just flipping thru that new massive ($50) Beastie Boys autobiography. Looks pretty essential.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Otis Fodder:

Picked up the BB Book, so very good.
Avatar 4:23pm Mr Fab:

Mike D lives here in LA now - is into surfing and wine! He even worked as a sommelier at a Hollywood restaurant recently. From giant Budweiser inflatables on stage, to being a wine expert...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Otis Fodder:

Love it! Send some of that sunshine to Montreal please.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm chresti:

My landlady did some photo shoots with the Beasties, back in the day
Avatar 4:28pm Mr Fab:

Moogs AND steel drums?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm chresti:

steel drums and moogs go with everything
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Otis Fodder:

Steel Drums, Moogs, and Beasties go together!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm chresti:

I never watched Baretta-did he have a parrot?
  4:32pm Domenic:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Otis Fodder:

@Domenic - I still have on my to-do list, the rip of Werner. :)
  4:34pm Germaine:

This right now....very pretty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Otis Fodder:

Love this soundtrack, "Follow Me". Loads of pretty on it.
Avatar 4:34pm Mr Fab:

"Steel Drums, Moogs, and Beasties go together" - ok, now I want a mash-up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm chresti:

Enjoying this set:)
Avatar 4:36pm Mr Fab:

excellent track, but still a bit disappointed that "Strip Poker at Caesar's Palace" was an instrumental. Would love to hear some lounge crooner have a go at that topic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Otis Fodder:

@Fab - If only there was an alternate version!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Otis Fodder:

@chresti - This set is the type of sounds I listen to while working almost daily.
  4:43pm Domenic:

THAT David Whitaker track was nice. And its on YouTube!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm Rich in Washington:

i get Skitch Henderson mixed up with Sketch Erickson all the time.
Avatar 4:49pm Mr Fab:

I just clicky-starred this Pierre Henry song, and it sez 5 other ppl did already. Do you know what's your most "starred" song, Otis?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm chresti:

@Otis same here, instrumental, spacey stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Otis Fodder:

I need to star more selections. I hope it's Mrs Miller or J&H Productions. Ha!
Avatar 4:51pm Martinibomb:

Listening from the Hospital! Had to take my gal in. Sometimes this wifi cell stuff rocks. Blutooth headset
Avatar 4:52pm Martinibomb:

I got GGs CDRs off to Wfmu tho. Should be there moMond
Avatar 4:52pm Mr Fab:

Yo M-Bomb! Hope yr lady's ok?
Avatar 4:53pm Martinibomb:

@fab don't know. She's having some pain so they wanted her to come in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Otis Fodder:

Hope all is well at the hospital MB. I need to mail my CDR off, tomorrow morning and will do a 1-2 day and just make it. Whew, deadline.
Avatar 4:56pm Martinibomb:

I like.ghostbox! Love belbury
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm Otis Fodder:

MB - Yes! I was thinking of you actually when I pulled out 2 Ghost Box 7" singles as only a few friends I know are into Ghost Box. Want to play a bunch more on the show, introduce to others. Amazing label. I also pulled out a John Foxx 7" that was included with Electronic Sound Mag (a mag I know you are a fan of too!)
Avatar 5:00pm Martinibomb:

Iyer cutting a wide path by the look of yer playlist. Haven't heard this track Analysis really good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Otis Fodder:

Analysis - Just one single. By the guys who went on to become Oppenheimer Analysis.
Avatar 5:02pm Martinibomb:

Don't know much about them ... New to my ears
  5:02pm Germaine:

This is so great, too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - Oh, I just found out about Oppenheimer Analysis as they were comped, like 2 years ago. Found the Analysis single that same year, in 2017 at a record fair. Really new here too.
Avatar 5:04pm Martinibomb:

Wow nice coincidence love it when that happens. What are the chances
Avatar 5:05pm Martinibomb:

I think my Buddy Solenoid is coming over tomorrow to play records for everyone hell no doubt have some good elrcyronel stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Otis Fodder:

Seems like that's how I continually find music. Chance encounters, stumbling on something after being turned on by someone else or finding in the wild ... and exploring.
Avatar 5:06pm Martinibomb:

Geez typing on a phone sux
Avatar 5:07pm Mr Fab:

yeah, and i keep thinking, ok NOW I've heard everything...
Avatar 5:07pm Martinibomb:

That's how I am too I like the randomness
Avatar 5:08pm Martinibomb:

The more I hear the more I realize I don't know anything hahaha
Avatar 5:08pm Mr Fab:

I remember early '90s, i had like 12 Moog albums, and thought: well, that's probly all of them..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Otis Fodder:

Ha, sooo many moog albums thank gawd!
Avatar 5:10pm grantbob:

Whatever they have done to Gary Numan here... I really like it.
Avatar 5:11pm Martinibomb:

Jebus Viv keeps knocking out new Dr airlines it seems like every day I get a Bandcamp email.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - Delivery of material like a cross between R Stevie Moore and Jandek.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Otis Fodder:

@grantbob - so true, it was sort of like Numan's Films!
Avatar 5:13pm Martinibomb:

They are very busy. Not sure how they do it. Kinda impressed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - I know, I average a release every 2 years at best, normally every 4-5 years. Priorities and inspiration. I get sidetracked by naps, often.
Avatar 5:17pm Martinibomb:

Is ghostbox putting new stuff out? Feel like it's been awhile did they go under,?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Otis Fodder:

New Pye Corner Audio LP was just released, slower stream, but still ongoing and steady.
Avatar 5:18pm Mr Fab:

I used to be prolific, til I got a kid. And a radio station.
Avatar 5:19pm Martinibomb:

@fab my brother used to do music with me all the time until he had a kid. Just no time for it anymore
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Otis Fodder:

@Fab - That's it, family/life x time.
Avatar 5:22pm Martinibomb:

@fab just stop sleeping and work at minig problem solved haha

Avatar 5:56pm Mr Fab:

I have the 2 CD set. it's separate from the book, tho it has a booklet about the artists on the CD.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Rich in Washington:

I can't believe I still don't have that. What a doofus!
