very cool show.. whats the name of crazy instrument again? a babagoonie?
  7:20pm Saxlois:

Fabulous playlist! The polyphonic singing really got my attention in the first hour. I was thinking it was more Central African polyphony (like Aka), but pleased to learn about the Dorze.
  7:26pm ledzeppelinsucks:

delightful

Avatar 7:52pm Mayuko:

Thanks maestroso & james!
Listening to these tunes while working is definitely taking me to JOY right now!
  7:54pm rw:

sautéd mushrooms... why does everyone else's life seem better than mine?
  8:00pm rw:

Although... I'm pretty sure most of the world isn't listening to music this beautiful right now. Feeling pretty lucky about that.
Avatar 8:10pm Mayuko:

@rw agreed both mushrooms envy and the music bliss we're experiencing right now.
Avatar 8:17pm northguineahills:

I made so much Japanese curry (w/ my chilis and poblanos, and many veggies, and dry fried tofu), I have enough food for a most of the week.
Avatar 8:20pm northguineahills:

@Mayuko: my first morning in Japan, jetlagged and groggy, I had Japanese curry (I was 10), so you know I had to figure out the recipe. (of course it took until my late 20s to it recreate perfectly, and now to my specification).
Avatar 8:26pm northguineahills:

It's PSP/Gateway to Joy, so, I'm happy the Ainu have been recognized as an official indigenous minority in Japan. How that happened under Abe, I have no idea....
Avatar 8:26pm Mayuko:

@ngh Now I am feeling the craving for JP curry too! Maybe I should make some when this show is over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm ɨkɛ:

Wow, I have never been any good at making curry, but I suppose I've never really put my mind to it and tried all hard. Some friends and I trekked out to Mitsuwa today too, so I could've gotten some ingredients if I'd had my eyes on the prize.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm ɨkɛ:

*all THAT hard
  8:32pm Carmichael:

Heya Donna. Pleasant surprise.
Avatar 8:36pm coelacanth∅:

hello Donna
been listening on/off/on in the car all evening it's been All Great!
Avatar 8:39pm Mayuko:

@ngh ha I didn't know that news, must look into it. I do wonder how it happened now but possibly 2020 Olympic or Putin/Kuril Islands beef related?
  8:42pm rw:

Okay, time for me to figure out the food situation around here. Thanks Donna for filling in today! Fantastic. Take care everyone!
Avatar 8:51pm northguineahills:

Ok, I'm hitting the road, thanks Monica!
Avatar 8:58pm coelacanth∅:

Thanks Donna!

Great show, Donna. Thanks! (I went to South Africa last fall and it has definitely informed my listening to African music.)
