Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Cuban rum is fine :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Otis Fodder:

Too much salt and vinegar and I'll be in a cloud of.. ether.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar 1:16pm Martinibomb:

Whadya prepping food stuffs for?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Otis Fodder:

Had to go look quickly, just to make sure I was not losing my mind. I mean, a whole show on Barbara Moore, and saucy at that. Weekend Tunes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm trying to lose some weight and be healthier so I'm doing meals in advance to make sure that I eat properly :-)
Avatar 1:20pm Martinibomb:

That's a smart idea! Is it stuff you can freeze? I need to do that more often
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Lots of veggie stews and soups so very freezable :-)
Avatar 1:22pm Martinibomb:

I like making veg medley. par boil broccoli etc.. freezes well. Then stuff is ready to go.. no chopping
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Exactly! Otherwise I fall into the hungry, tired, takeaway trap.
Avatar 1:24pm Martinibomb:

I'm obsessed with Israeli couscous right now from watching Shtisel on Netflix. which is about unltra-orthodox jewish people
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Jan Turkenburg:

there where two Kaleidoscopes, weren't there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Is that the massive couscous? Like big pearls of it?
Avatar 1:25pm Martinibomb:

Yuppp! Oh my gawd I love it so much
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I love how it sucks up sauces :-) Very tasty stuff :-)
Avatar 1:26pm Martinibomb:

I'm always trying to figure out what they are eating in the show. hahah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

That was me and The Sopranos back in the day ;-)
Avatar 1:27pm Martinibomb:

I think when I travel I'm more interested in what people are eating for some reason than anything else
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

You're like me. I need to know about all the available restaurants etc ;-)
Avatar 1:28pm Martinibomb:

totally!!
Avatar 1:32pm Martinibomb:

ooooh I'm a big fan of this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's a MASSIVE song. Never fails to get me dancing and jumping about :-)
Avatar 1:33pm Mr Fab:

Hey all!

Yes Jan, there was a California band named Kaleidoscope, featuring David Linley I believe. But these guys named their album "Tangerine Dream"? Hmm..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I would love it if Tangerine Dream had an album called Kaleidoscope :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Like the Nick Lowe "Bowi" album ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Mr Fab! @ Georgy, well TD made a huge pile of albums, maybe they did???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

That would make me so happy. lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Here we go ... :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm Jan Turkenburg:

a a queer flute again!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm intrigued as to what a queer flute is! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Jan Turkenburg:

I looked it up: I've got an album of both groups
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Aha! The Peter Daltrey thing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Jan Turkenburg:

well, a flute that isn't straight :-) :-) :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

LOL!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Jan Turkenburg:

The one with Peter Daltrey is called White Faced Lady
Avatar 1:42pm Martinibomb:

Why are you talking about queer flutes? What am I missing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I mean ... it doesn't *sound* like a name in common usage ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Jan Turkenburg:

ah, this track of Arthur Brown is featered in a coming theme show of mine :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Seriously?? Great minds!! lol
MB - Jan is pointing out all the queer flutes in my selections this evening ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Jan Turkenburg:

And the California one is called: "Beacon From Mars"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I used to have that!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm Jan Turkenburg:

fyi, 'querflöte' is the German name for the classical flute,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Aha :-)
Avatar 1:45pm Martinibomb:

He's a flute spy
Avatar 1:46pm Martinibomb:

Anybody here play flute? I keep thinking of getting one hahah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I have a stunning inability to play any instrument at all, and God knows I've tried over the years. lol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Jan Turkenburg:

Well, I could give you lessons through skype :-) :-)
Avatar 1:48pm Martinibomb:

Not even Kazoo? I thought everyone could play that.. how about Jews Harp?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Jan Turkenburg:

That was @MB. Georgy, by the sounds of it you're a hopeless case lol!
Avatar 1:49pm Martinibomb:

I went to a Jew's Harp festival once Lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Jan Turkenburg:

You can always play cow bell!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Jan Turkenburg:

Every band needs one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I broke my first kazoo because I kept blowing and blowing and couldn't understand how it worked. I can play spoons after a fashion! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

MORE COW BELL!!! :-)
Avatar 1:50pm Martinibomb:

I'd be up for some flute lessons with you Jan.. I just need to get one first.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

A Jew's Harp festival? That sounds intriguing!
  1:51pm ?:

OK, Finally here. Hello!
Avatar 1:51pm Mr Fab:

The most money I ever made in music was playing jews harp for a Blue Man Group show. Strange, but true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Jan Turkenburg:

I always find it hard to believe that somebody with your taste and feel for music can't play any instrument, Georgy!
Avatar 1:51pm Martinibomb:

I was driving along the Oregon Coast through this small town and there was this big sign that said "Jew's Harp Festival" so of course I had to stop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Here you go everyone. Everyone's favourite seagull ;-)
Avatar 1:51pm spacebrother:

Sorry, didn't sign in.
Avatar 1:52pm spacebrother:

Hello! Dave the S, yeah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Greg!!! You were an enigma!!! Hello :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

We need back story Mr fab! :-)
Avatar 1:53pm Martinibomb:

Hiya Greg! Nice to see ya
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

If I saw a sign like that I'd have to stop to be fair
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Otis Fodder:

Cool Daddio Beat Flim Noir Seagull Action!
Avatar 1:53pm Martinibomb:

I love Dave. Maybe I can do a drawing of him and make him the official Sheeena's Mascot?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Sadly, Jan it's true :-(
Avatar 1:53pm spacebrother:

Hello Georgy and Martini!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Otis Fodder:

Canadian Fan Club President, in attendance.
Avatar 1:54pm Mr Fab:

Hey Spacerother! I thought the lead singer of the Mysterians was joining us for a sec.
Avatar 1:54pm spacebrother:

I've actually been on a Troggs trip for the last couple of months, so thanks for the hit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

You're very welcome :-)
Avatar 1:55pm Martinibomb:

@Fab you for real played Jew's Harp for a Blue Man group? Holy crow you're my new hero if that's true
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Greg!
Avatar 1:55pm spacebrother:

I'd change my name to "Question Mark" in a second.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Otis - Dave is becoming international!!! lol
Avatar 1:56pm spacebrother:

Hey there Jan! Thanks again for filling in awhile ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Jan Turkenburg:

@ Martini, if you're serious about buying playing the flute I would suggest you contact someone who knows something about flutes, to get you one that's both good and affordable. Nothing takes the fun more out of flute-playing than a bad instrument...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Jan Turkenburg:

Georgy!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Jan Turkenburg:

This song is in my coming show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Yes? :-)
Avatar 1:58pm spacebrother:

Wow, great version of Spare a Dime!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Jan Turkenburg:

but in quite a different rendition :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's amazing, isn't it? I'm a little obsessed with it :-)
  1:59pm Domenic:

Spare a Time. Awesome indeed. I always liked Abby Lincoln's version. She was so expressive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hey Dom! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Jan Turkenburg:

Imagine this by a crooner with a heavy Dutch accent LOL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Rich in Washington:

Back now. My phone battery just made it. Breakfast accomplished!
Avatar 2:00pm Martinibomb:

@Jan that's exactly how I usually buy instruments. Actually I think my bro-in law has my wife's old flute from highschool which he doesn't use.. was thinking of asking about it
Avatar 2:01pm Martinibomb:

Hello Rich! Glad to see your smiling text today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Rich in Washington:

Hi spacebrother! Hi Martinibomb! Hi Domenic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Gimme some breakfast porn!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Domenic!
Avatar 2:02pm Martinibomb:

Hello Domenic
Avatar 2:03pm Martinibomb:

Odd fact of the day I just discovered that I never knew. Ricky Nelson's real name is Eric.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Nice bit of phasing there :-)
Avatar 2:03pm spacebrother:

Hey Rich!
Avatar 2:03pm spacebrother:

Stones Corn Flakes ad!
Avatar 2:04pm Martinibomb:

I'd like to crawl inside of that phasor fx and just live there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I always assumed it was Richard! So like Ricki Lake (Erica)?
Avatar 2:04pm spacebrother:

I always loved phased drum sounds.
  2:05pm Domenic:

Hi friends. At work. My co-worked tolerates my "taste" in music. Nice bloke. Good to see you all here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Phasing is one of my favourite things in the universe. :-)
Avatar 2:05pm spacebrother:

"I've"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Rich in Washington:

You are lucky, Domenic! So rare!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Jan Turkenburg:

Who has been playing too as a kid with the recod player and taperecorder, getting the record player to slowly catch up with the tape recorder (or hitting the pause button quickly)
Avatar 2:06pm Martinibomb:

Ricki lake's real name is Erica?? Is Rick short for Eric? I guess it kinda is hah I never made that connection.. Ric or Rik?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I broke so many tape recorders and midi systems like that so yeah - guilty as charged! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Jan Turkenburg:

LOL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Rich in Washington:

Rick is usually short for Frederick, I understand - variants abound. I have been cursed with always being called Rick. We all know the nickname for Richard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It took me ages to work out the Rick/Rric thing too. And Peggy/Margaret still hurts my head!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ok - I never realised Frederick + Rick until you said that. Wow. I'm impressed! :-)
Avatar 2:08pm Martinibomb:

I had a principle in gradeschool who's name was Richard Dick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Nooooooooooooooooooo ... LOL!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Rich in Washington:

I honestly didn't know that Dick was short for Richard until say the 6th grade, as my great grandfather (a sweet Dutch immigrant we called Poppy) was formally named Dick. I didn't know it was short for Richard until he passed away and read his obit.
Avatar 2:10pm Mr Fab:

Hapshash and his Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat?
Avatar 2:10pm Martinibomb:

Hey cool rich! I'm also descended from Dutch settlers. maybe we're related?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Poppy sounds like such an affectionate name - that's so sweet :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Jan Turkenburg:

@ Martini Wow, I had one who's sir name was Pick, which is the Dutch equivelant of prick, but we had to pronounce it like Peek. One of the nicest principles ever by the way!
Avatar 2:11pm Martinibomb:

@Jan I think having a name like that makes you a nicer person. He was super cool guy. Boy named Sue kinda thing going on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Rich in Washington:

Maybe! Who knows! It's on my father's side, his mother's father. I think he immigrated over in the late 1800s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Jan Turkenburg:

Wait a minute! there are Turkenburgs that have migrated to the US in the pas. so perhaps we're all related! LOL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I love genealogy stories. I genuinely find it all fascinating. I got a subscription to Ancestry before Christmas and have been obsessed with it everr since
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Jan Turkenburg:

might explain a lot :-) :-)
Avatar 2:14pm Martinibomb:

@Rich mine got here in the late 1500/early 1600's
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Rich in Washington:

I suspect we're all related here. We have Martian genes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Rich in Washington:

paging Dr. Quatermass...
Avatar 2:15pm Martinibomb:

my relative was the first male dutch person born here. Yeah I suspect we're all cousins some how
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Well ... I have ancestors from London who got on a boat in 1630 and ended up in that Massachusetts place, so we genuinely could all be related. lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Jan Turkenburg:

My late uncle spent his life-time digging up the Turkenburg History back to early 16th century and sofar all known Turkenburgs to us seem to have their roots the same Dutch Village
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Rich in Washington:

man. I'm addicted to this hot sauce my son and daughter in law got me for xmas. Organic Harvest Chipotle Habenero Pepper Sauce.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Clearly it must be a lovely village then! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ooooooooooooooooooooooo ... I do love a chipotle.
Avatar 2:17pm Martinibomb:

My mom's side there's records that seem to go back pretty far. My dad.. the Irish side.. eh not so much
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Rich in Washington:

This track is amazing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

This whole set kinda blew my mind a bit :-)
Avatar 2:18pm spacebrother:

Rich, my favorites are Yucateca and Waha Wera (kiwi fruit and habanero sauce from New Zealand.)
Avatar 2:19pm Martinibomb:

Ooh I love chipotle habenero I want some now!! mouth watering
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Jan Turkenburg:

Every now and then I'm contacted by a Turkenburg because I have the archive now. Two fine friendships have evolved from that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Rich in Washington:

Well. I need to buy some more, ASAP. I was just slapping the last bits our of the bottle. Boo hoo!
Avatar 2:20pm Martinibomb:

I love putting some butter with habanero in a pan and cooking a bannana in them and eating with icecream
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

So, if Burg is village? Does Turken mean something? Like Village of ??
Avatar 2:21pm Martinibomb:

@Jan have you ever met up with any of them?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm really hungry now!!!
Avatar 2:21pm spacebrother:

"Organic Harvest Chipotle Habenero Pepper Sauce" is available on Amazon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Jan Turkenburg:

Turk probably meant Torch in medieval Holland
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Rich in Washington:

My dad's side of the family is sketchy. It's traced to his grandfather who jumped ship in San Francisco from Glasgow. The trail goes cold there. We think he was an orphan who became a merchant seaman. My sister tried tracking down records while in Scotland but there were no records of him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Jan Turkenburg:

@ Martini yes, I even dated one ;)
Avatar 2:23pm Martinibomb:

@Jan u devil u
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Jan Turkenburg:

Burg could mean fortress, castle or big defendable place in most languages
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Jan Turkenburg:

It was last year. We're still good friends. She sometimes comes to visit me in Zwolle
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Jan Turkenburg:

And the other one is Wouter Turkenburg, who is a wellknown name in Music Academy land... We've met once last year and we got along very well. He is the father of the other songwriting Jan
Avatar 2:28pm Martinibomb:

this naughty boy song is soooo cute loooove it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's very fey pop bordering on sunshine :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, spacebrother! Wish they had gallon jugs!
Avatar 2:28pm spacebrother:

Holy shit Martini, Habanero and bananas? OMG... Gotta try it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Rich in Washington:

This is great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Rich in Washington:

Who's a naughty boy, then?
Avatar 2:29pm spacebrother:

It's bordering on something all right.
Avatar 2:29pm Don-O:

The only family trait I can show off is my dad was talked out of giving me the middle name beginning with the letter 'Z'.
Avatar 2:30pm spacebrother:

Not sure exactly what.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Rich in Washington:

I was never a huge habanero freak but after this sauce. Dang. I literally think of things I can cook just to go with it.
Avatar 2:30pm Martinibomb:

You just need a little Habanero it goes a long way. It's a good flavor
Avatar 2:33pm Martinibomb:

I might have to cover that Naughty Boy song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Otis Fodder:

Loved that Naughty Boy song. New to the ears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Please do!! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah. i'm all about the flavor, not so much into extreme heat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm having a proper old bop in my chair and I've already heard all of these about 500 times this week ;-) lol
Avatar 2:35pm Martinibomb:

I had to go listen to that naughty boy track a few more times on youtube that's how much I dig it. Thanks GG
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Jan Turkenburg:

you don't say ;)
  2:36pm Domenic:

These are RARE 45's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Jan Turkenburg:

@Georgy that was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

You're very welcome MB! :-)
  2:37pm Domenic:

I should probably register here. And use my my Luxuriamusic name "Martooni". 18 years ago I was known as "The Martini Guy"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Only one more section to go - this has flown past! I've thoroughly enjoyed myself ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Jan Turkenburg:

I haven't heard much queer flutes anymore, by the way.
Avatar 2:38pm Martinibomb:

Oh yeah I was all over Luxuria in the late 90s/2000s Dom so.. I remember ya I was going by Diabolik back then tho
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Note to self - more queer flutes for Jan ;-)
Avatar 2:39pm Mr Fab:

Luxuriamusic! One of my entries into internet radio, like, 20 years ago..? Yeesh...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Rich in Washington:

Your shows are fantastic, GeorgyGirl! I love the mood it puts me in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yezzz we needzz more queer flutezzzz
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you Rich! That's made me feel very proud indeed :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Rich in Washington:

The various early web music communities are amazing. Someone should document them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Rich in Washington:

A Mod show! Yes!
Avatar 2:40pm Martinibomb:

Jon Huck played one of my songs with the Coconut monkey rocket and that's how I met him
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Rich in Washington:

I got hooked on internet radio by Weirdsville.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Steam is amazing - throughly nice bloke and xcellent DJ. :-) I shall post links tomorrow/later today :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Rich in Washington:

The Sheena stream reminds me of Weirdsville quite a bit.
Avatar 2:42pm spacebrother:

I was part of 2nd wave mod in Los Angeles. Had the scooter and the whole bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I wish we could all hang out in the meat space. that'd be so freaking cool. Video call soon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Rich in Washington:

I was maybe a latecomer to internet radio. I didn't have high speed internet at my (rural area) house until 2004, 2005 or so, so listened to most of it at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Rich in Washington:

I would love to do a video call soon!
Avatar 2:44pm spacebrother:

YES! Meeting!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Otis Fodder:

@Rich - Great comparison, Sheena reminds me as well of Weirdsville. Thankfully now we have audio quality, I don't miss realaudio/media one bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Rich in Washington:

MEETING!
Avatar 2:44pm Mr Fab:

No way Greg! You were a mod, that's amazing. Parkas, too? With Union Jacks on stuff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Otis Fodder:

Video call soon, I'm in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Same really - I started mostly chatting and file sharing and then slowly got more into internet radio. Around the 97/98/99 mark.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Jan Turkenburg:

Has that been done by you yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah! I would also record a bunch of Weirdsville on cassette and listen to it in my car. SIlly eh? I recently found one of the tapes and listened to it for shits n' giggles and I can't believe I would listen to that.
Avatar 2:46pm spacebrother:

Yes, Georgy, but in L.A. we put the flags representing our heritage on the backs of the parkas. My scooter had eight mirrors on the front and three fog lights.
Avatar 2:47pm spacebrother:

I have pics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Rich in Washington:

I always loved that Camper Van Beethoven song Where Is Bill. It documents the progress from New Waver > Mod > Punk really accurately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Would love to see pictures of everyone on their nefarious youth guises ;-)
Avatar 2:47pm spacebrother:

I still have my old parka!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Rich in Washington:

I wanna see the pics, spacebrother!
Avatar 2:48pm spacebrother:

I liked that one too, Rich. It's very California-centric too.
Avatar 2:48pm spacebrother:

I'll post in the FB group.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Rich in Washington:

I lived in a rural podunk, so Mod never quite made its way up here. I was way into punk in high school but no one knew what the fuck I was because I didn't dress like a TV version of a punk rocker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Jan Turkenburg:

A little bit of Haendel carefully squeezed in in the intro there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Rich in Washington:

I still have the motorcycle jacket I had as a teenager. It's quite worn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I was a one of about five hippies in a sea of punks at my old school in the 70s. Luckily they mostly liked me/thought |I was harmless or I wouldn't have a face.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Jan Turkenburg:

I'm afraid I looked quite boring compared to your stories :-(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Jan Turkenburg:

I did try to look a tiny bit hippy-ish
Avatar 2:52pm spacebrother:

I love this Who song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

:-)
Avatar 2:52pm spacebrother:

It's very punk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Wow. Nearly there.
Avatar 2:54pm Martinibomb:

@Rich I didn't even know who the Velvet Underground was until I moved to Portland. Redneck kid
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Rich in Washington:

Looking back, I realized that a lot of my 'look' was mitigated by not getting jumped by rednecks in pickup trucks, but after I started going to shows nearly every weekend and playing in my pathetic teenage garage band, I no longer cared.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Rich in Washington:

I was fortunate that I had KBOO's late night weirdo DJs to edumacate me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Rich in Washington:

I hope Henry's back soon! Look forward to Jan's shows, as well!
Avatar 2:55pm Martinibomb:

I got a graveyard job at Kinkos when I first got here and this guy from Chicago who knew everyting about music totally schooled me. So you all have him to thank for everything I've done since.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Jan Turkenburg:

I said: don't make me blush! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Rich in Washington:

I'm the caboose to the friday train!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you, Mr Chicago Man :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Woo- Woo!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Jan Turkenburg:

For the time being it's just called 'the fill in show'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks Georgy for the weekly magic! Props to Dave too!
Avatar 2:57pm spacebrother:

Thanks for another great show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you all my lovely friends and fellow DJs! :-) I've had a blast as always :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Jan Turkenburg:

because there are 4 shows that already have been recorded and after that we'll just see
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Jan Turkenburg:

Bye Georgy!! It was great again!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Sticking around for an hour and then off to bed. But I shall catching up with everyone from this week tomorrow during my food prep :-)
Avatar 2:59pm Martinibomb:

Thanks again for the intro to that simon Secret track.. def going into high rotation
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, GeorgyGirl!
