I love this one. I think Iggy played it on his BBC6 show a few weeks back. Kind of reminds me of the Steven Jesse Bernstein album - that he did with Steve Fisk.
Avatar 3:05pm Creamo Coyl:

Whoa really? Damn, Iggy's got good taste. DRT live was fucking sick, that guy can jam some guitar. ANd that Bernstein record is an all-time fave. Yeah the voice is kind of similar.
Avatar 3:06pm Chris from DC:

th'Pond! And shoot, I missed Davis Redford.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm ultradamno:

You Blastards!
Avatar 3:16pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

Avatar 3:39pm Chris from DC:

yay, Spaceheads!
  3:42pm Луц:

know... leary also talked about net... which is essentially the same things... radio=tv=net=?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm steveo:

Луц, I'm not familiar offhand with what Leary said, but I think the idea of TV (and commercial radio) as an opiate for the masses has a lot of truth. And that's why I'm here.
  3:52pm Луц:

recently we published wallace's “infinite jest” in russian... (20 years later :)... thank's you to the american people for your such a talented national author...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm steveo:

  3:53pm Луц:

The internet fulfills the threatening promise of television (Winston smith, you are not buying enough on Amazon!S
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm steveo:

(for the 'echo machine' settings)
  4:11pm Old Dave:

Read Wallace. Do it now. Read Berry, O'Connor, anything.
Don't be like our current President and not read a book ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Even one of those Where Went Waldo books would count.
  4:16pm Boomer:

Rock on!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Devin B.:

Луц: what Russian authors/books should we be reading?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Psychedelic Salon credits McKenna who credits TimmyLeary w/ the mandate to 'Find The Others'...& I credit FMU w/ being Other awlright...
  4:20pm Old Dave:

Yes, beyond Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, who I loved in High School- what's new?
  4:21pm Jeff:

I started War and Peace, but the title is kind of a spoiler. And it's long in the middle.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm steveo:

unlike Ohio
Avatar 4:30pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Crawled in the headphones thirteen seconds ago. Became magnificently happy straight away.

Do carry on.
  4:30pm Aggravation Overdose:

I'm sure Cream O' probably has his sets all lined up, but may I may a request?
X. Ray was quite fond of Scottish funky post-punkers APB. I think they would fit in nicely in the S-AB Skronksphere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm ultradamno:

There's a scrappy newcomer called Nabokov worth a look
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm ultradamno:

The Leaving Trains were, bar none, the whiniest band I ever saw. Who would have thought a basement in Muncie on a Sunday night wouldn't be packed with rabid Leaving Trains fans?
Avatar 4:40pm Creamo Coyl:

Haha. Still love em. And no one could ever be as whiny as Aton Newcombe, but I can see Falling James as kind of a proto-Newcombe, except w/ talent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm TomDash:

Hey there CC - groovy, sleety/snowy/rainy mix of jams man...
  4:42pm Aggravation Overdose:

Muncie baesments shows? Musta been a BALL! Do tell about that scene.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm ultradamno:

Well, No Bar & Grill. A basement juice bar on Martin. Big Black played there, Killdozer, Scratch Acid, Henry Rollins, Boy Dirt Car, Die Kreuzen, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm ultradamno:

And there were basement shows Modern Vending's house some times.
  4:45pm rw:

How-Dee!! I must drive around a lot on Tuesdays always hear this show in the car.
Avatar 4:45pm TDK60:

Hello DJ Creamo and Blasters.
  4:46pm rw:

Are we whining about whining?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm ultradamno:

Avatar 4:48pm Creamo Coyl:

Basement Juice sounds disgusting, but like a pretty good band.
  4:49pm Old Dave:

Poetry from Russia equals Joseph Brodsky to me, but there must be more!
"There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them."
I think he said that.
  4:55pm Aggravation Overdose:

I always thought Modern Vending was from Naptown. I learned sumpin' today.
  4:58pm brainiac:

Lester Bangs, "Peter Laughner Is Dead http://straighttovideo.org/wp-content/uploads/Peter-Laughner-is-dead.pdf
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm ultradamno:

I think there were some Indy people in there, but they were definitely formed and lived on Ball State campus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm steveo:

hate to go but thanks for the great stuff CC
Avatar 5:09pm TDK60:

see ya steveo..
Avatar 5:11pm TDK60:

...never really liked Soft Cell, but I'll listen patiently...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm ultradamno:

I think I've heard few people left Some Bizarre happy with the Some Bizarre guy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Aitch:

Loved that stuff last week. Hadn't heard a lot of the Marc Almond stuff. Must chase
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Devin B.:

Cool stuff. That was a fun set last week, nevertheless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm George of Troy:

Stevo at Some Bizzare. Coil was none too happy with him, either. Hence the message on the Scatology CD reissue, "stevo pay us what you owe us!" or something to that effect.
Avatar 5:14pm Creamo Coyl:

Yes! Exactly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm TomDash:

GONNA get far out? Well then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm ultradamno:

I think I recall Diamanda Galas trashing, but then she trashed most everybody.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm ultradamno:

...trashing him, I meant to say
Avatar 5:16pm TDK60:

A trashing from Diamanda might be a tad scary.
Avatar 5:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

reminds me. I've had a book of hers on the shelf for a decade or two; probably time to give that the old eyeball.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm ultradamno:

That might have been in her Forced Exposure interview
Avatar 5:22pm TDK60:

..time for my evening tea and some orchestral music with zing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Aitch:

Creamo providing more rabbit-holes to get lost in. Hedvig! Great show.
