Sounds like a good time, UM

12 days us a ways off. We're visiting my dad in Santa Monica.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Carmichael:

Hopefully it will clear up by then. Currently in a big soaker (which we always need).

Let this music light our way

We need a little sunshine here today! Thanks Andrew!

Avatar 6:08pm cometothesunshine:

Welcome, Karen S!
Avatar 6:11pm mce1965:

Love that NC6 track... my fave single by them
Avatar 6:12pm cometothesunshine:

I found an unplayed copy of it just a few weeks ago - $2
Avatar 6:13pm cometothesunshine:

This Nirvana Banana single was a good find - like a great lost Merry-Go-Round track
Avatar 6:14pm cometothesunshine:

of the early variety
  6:14pm uptownjen:

Yeah! Loving this!
Avatar 6:15pm cometothesunshine:

Michael Nesmith gave me a few eye rolls when I arrived delighted with it in my hand.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm Itzall Ablurr:

Hello. Now THIS is good, thank you.
Avatar 6:16pm cometothesunshine:

Welcome Itzall
Avatar 6:18pm cometothesunshine:

I fretted over today's choice of 45's, but the results sound good.
Avatar 6:19pm cometothesunshine:

If you click the stars next to the songs you like in the playlist, they become favorites
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm Glynis GirlGroupGirl:

Great! I love that Creatures 45!
Avatar 6:20pm cometothesunshine:

Yeah - they were from Ireland and made 4 great 45's
Avatar 6:21pm cometothesunshine:

Love the bright clean production production on this RCA single - unusual for the label.
  6:23pm Doug in Boston:

Come to the Sunshine -- Cats, Toads and Creatures, but no Trolls!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm Carmichael:

The Creatures: psychedelicized.com...
  6:23pm uptownjen:

Same label as Sam Cooke’s version, right?
Avatar 6:23pm cometothesunshine:

Not yet, Doug. Welcome!
Avatar 6:24pm cometothesunshine:

Actually - this one is on Jubilee, his was on RCA
Avatar 6:24pm cometothesunshine:

The RCA 45 I was talking about was Tom & Ellen
  6:26pm uptownjen:

Oh. Silly me.
  6:27pm uptownjen:

Loving the knowledge you’re dropping on us today. I think it’s cool to hear where you pick up your records.
Avatar 6:28pm cometothesunshine:

No big deal - it is a lot of info to juggle
Avatar 6:28pm cometothesunshine:

I am surprised how much I remember where I was when I found all of these, considering I have about 5000 45's
  6:29pm uptownjen:

My Sonos (which catches you on TuneIn) is usually a little ahead of the app.
  6:29pm uptownjen:

(I have to have the sound turned down on my phone to chat while I listen on my Sonos. Ha!)
  6:30pm uptownjen:

I thought you kept a record of where you buy things...it’s impressive that you remember!
Avatar 6:30pm cometothesunshine:

I love this Mike Batt 45
Avatar 6:31pm KarenS:

I love thinking about all these little gems sitting in a bin just waiting for you to rescue them. And shine a light on them.
Avatar 6:31pm cometothesunshine:

This one I bought online - the seller was in Tehran - not sure what this was doing there, but happy when it arrived perfect.
Avatar 6:33pm SpikeBeasley:

Phew! I made it! Listening to your amazing vintage buried treasures on my space-age wireless Bluetooth speaker making this rainy day perfect! Thanx, Andrew!
Avatar 6:33pm cometothesunshine:

I would like to find a better copy of this Sounds Incorporated 45 - but it is nice to have it any event.
Avatar 6:33pm cometothesunshine:

Welcome Spike - thanks for joining us!
  6:35pm Barry Gutman:

That New Colony Six single is beautiful -- I always overlook that wonderful band. Time I did something about that! Thanks, Andrew -- you know I always love it when I "Come to the Sunshine"! Cheers from Philly, Barry
Avatar 6:36pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks so much, Barry! Yes, a wonderful song.
Avatar 6:37pm cometothesunshine:

This is a wild 45 - the A-side sounded nothing like this. Snow have an album that I have not heard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Glynis GirlGroupGirl:

I love Snow, lots of greatness on their LP
Avatar 6:41pm cometothesunshine:

I would love to hear it someday.
Avatar 6:42pm cometothesunshine:

This Fortunes single never even came out in the UK (or US)
  6:42pm uptownjen:

That might be the best Fortunes track I’ve heard
Avatar 6:45pm cometothesunshine:

Jen - they have an even better one called "The Idol"
Avatar 6:45pm SpikeBeasley:

Hi - I have digitized and posted a groovy rarity I bet you and your listeners will adore; "Good Grief, Griffin!" by Carole Lee Lombard. I posted it to my profile for EZ access. I'll also repost it to FB and tag you in comments, Andrew, for later.. A heartfelt share in thanx. Peace!
  6:48pm Doug in Boston:

Love the phasing effect on the vocals. Would have been too much for the Bee Gees but it works nicely here.
Avatar 6:48pm cometothesunshine:

Yes, the phasing totally elevates the record
  6:51pm uptownjen:

Might be my fave JA song...in my top five at least.
Avatar 6:51pm cometothesunshine:

Making their Come To The Sunshine debut: Jefferson Airplane
Avatar 6:52pm KarenS:

I’m really looking forward to Noel H. I am woefully unfamiliar with his non-hits.
Avatar 6:53pm cometothesunshine:

I think you will really like it, Karen
Avatar 6:54pm cometothesunshine:

He was a charming performer; I was lucky enough to see him a number of times. He passed away a few years ago.
Avatar 6:55pm cometothesunshine:

He was working at a newsstand and managing an apartment bldg in LA when I met him. Very nice guy.
  6:55pm Doug in Boston:

Didn't Jefferson Airplane record at RCA? But none of their records have the same "sonic signature" of anything else from RCA.
Avatar 6:55pm SpikeBeasley:

Ooh! Nez musta heard this on! Thanks! Winken, Blinken & Nod - I've heard him sing this from 65?
Avatar 6:56pm cometothesunshine:

That Nez performance is more likely late 63/early 64
Avatar 7:00pm cometothesunshine:

Welcome to the music of Noel Harrison
Avatar 7:00pm KarenS:

I wish he could have kept performing! I always loved seeing him on the variety shows and on The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.
Avatar 7:01pm cometothesunshine:

He did actually keep performing in small folk clubs. He was onstage in the Uk only hours before he died of heart attack.
Avatar 7:05pm KarenS:

Avatar 7:05pm cometothesunshine:

I think these records are great
Avatar 7:07pm SpikeBeasley:

Meet me under the WHALE, Karen.
Avatar 7:07pm KarenS:

Did he have one producer? His songs always seemed a good fit for him.
Avatar 7:08pm cometothesunshine:

Mostly Jimmy Bowen on Reprise
Avatar 7:12pm cometothesunshine:

It is amazing how such a big and beautiful production could remain unissued for decades
  7:15pm Doug in Boston:

That's what I'm thinking. Top-notch arranging, production, session musicians, and recording quality. Who was behind the scenes?
Avatar 7:17pm cometothesunshine:

Jimmy Bowen, Don Peake, Don Randi, Greene & Stone
  7:20pm Doug in Boston:

This is why we need CTTS. To hear gems like these.
Avatar 7:20pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Doug. It is a pleasure presenting and searching for this music.
Avatar 7:21pm KarenS:

That one was amazing
  7:21pm uptownjen:

This is some extraordinary, sophisticated music.
Avatar 7:22pm cometothesunshine:

Yeah, he was something else.
Avatar 7:23pm cometothesunshine:

He made a lot of records too - it was nice distilling it down to this hour.
Avatar 7:23pm mce1965:

These are some beautiful sounds, Andrew... I will continue to enjoy on the way home. Thank you for all you do to entertain us...
Avatar 7:24pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, MCE - be careful out there
Avatar 7:25pm KarenS:

Ooh ... plot twist!
Avatar 7:25pm cometothesunshine:

En Francais
Avatar 7:25pm cometothesunshine:

Come To The Sunshine exclusive
Avatar 7:26pm KarenS:

Mind blown!
Avatar 7:31pm cometothesunshine:

The Windmills Of Your Mind is such an amazing song
Avatar 7:33pm cometothesunshine:

I had to play through a lot of copies of Fly Sing Song to find one that wasn't totally distorted
  7:36pm izzy:

Soothing music for a post-work chill!
Avatar 7:36pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Izzy!
  7:37pm Doug in Boston:

That was the voice of Gary Owens in the promo.
Avatar 7:38pm cometothesunshine:

Yes, it was!
  7:38pm Doug in Boston:

All the great L.A. DJ's wanted to leave radio for TV!
  7:40pm Doug in Boston:

Don't recall if Roger Christians made it to the tube.
Avatar 7:43pm cometothesunshine:

You can hear all that great James Burton dobro on this one - so much like the Everlys and other great period LA recordings.
  7:43pm Matt:

Really enjoyed that last set!
Avatar 7:44pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks so much, Matt!
Avatar 7:44pm cometothesunshine:

A little P.F. Sloan for everyone
Avatar 7:46pm cometothesunshine:

I saw Noel perform this solo at a P.F. Sloan tribute show many years ago.
  7:46pm pf sloan fan:

This is great, love PF Sloan’s version as well, great song
Avatar 7:47pm cometothesunshine:

yes, some different lyrics in this one (from PF's version).
Avatar 7:54pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks everyone for joining me today - it sure was nice - lifted my spirits to know you were with me for this music. God bless Noel - may he rest easy knowing his song is still alive here in Los Angeles.
Avatar 7:55pm KarenS:

Another amazing tribute! Thank you Andrew!
Avatar 7:55pm Woof:

Thank you so much, Andrew!!! Such a fantastic show!
  7:56pm Doug in Boston:

Thank you, Andrew!
  7:56pm uptownjen:

Thanks as always, Andrew!
Avatar 7:56pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Woof! He's no Dave McCallum, but he tried!
Avatar 7:56pm Woof:

HA! :)
