True story: Mike McGear spoke to my son's daycare class. Was at the Smithsonian, he had a photo exhibit. They knew he was Paul's brother. They didn't know "Leave It."
  11:21am JANDY:

Crazy coincidence! I just opened the app to listen to WFMU while traveling for work. I’m on the eastern shores of Alabama. TWO SECONDS after the app started playing a tag between songs was from a man saying “this is so and so from Eastern Shores Alabama. I love listening to WFMU”
  11:22am clarke:

hey pedro - did you get to the Smithsonian when that exhibit was up in the front room: The American Guitar - simply amazing!!! (this was in the late 80s)
  11:23am Sean T.:

That was Rick Hall, Jandy. He was the proprietor of FAME studios in Florence. What he actually said wasn't "Eastern Shores" but rather "Muscle Shoals" :)
  11:24am clarke:

one hears what they need to

-Sean T. Oh word. Confirmation bias.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am Ken From Hyde Park:

(I may have posted this story before.) In high school, we had a class trip to California. I came across Lefty Frizzell's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and took a picture. I had never heard of him, but thought it was a cool name.
  11:27am JANDY:

Ha I know Lefty Frizzell’s granddaughter.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:27am Pedro in Arlington:

Oh, Lefty was sooo good. Have the remains of a six-pack of "Long Black Veil" by Alexandria, Virginia's Port City Brewing in the fridge. I think the person who gave it to me only knew the Johnny Cash version.
