Hanging up my hat this week at the door. I'm over there, on that proverbial couch, drinking mimosas and hogging all the soft pillows. Across the room, borders away, 11 friends run the show. Give it up for the Friendly Persuaders!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There's nothing quite like a kicky world. Unless he said Kiki world which is another thing altogether.
  3:11pm Martinibomb:

@41 mixcloud.com/Martinibomb I do this show at a small low power fm station
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Rich in Washington:

That was fun! I miss audio barrages like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Rich in Washington:

NEIL DICK! I love him!

ah, thank ya martinibomb
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Rich in Washington:

His CD is fantastic, but what happened to him?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Otis Fodder:

The audio barrage was such a perfect way to start the show. Ha. Now, Neil Dick. I'm really excited about today. The submissions are so cool!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow! I had no idea there existed any pre-Future Is Now material!
  3:14pm Fortyone:

That was some powerful samples, cheers to MarkTime!

As an honorary Canadian, I approve of this patriotic song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Otis Fodder:

Canada (resident) here, approving the magic, that is, Neil.
Avatar 3:15pm spacebrother:

Hope I can visit Casa Fodder again soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Rich in Washington:

Neil was sharp back in the day, during the CD Baby mini-revolution. One had to buy his entire CD to get anything. Money well spent, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Rich in Washington:

This is great!
  3:20pm Fortyone:

I love her voice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Otis Fodder:

Di is soooo good!

  3:28pm Johnzon:

never build with flakey boards! sounds like dry rot. or was it "planky boards"?
  3:38pm Fortyone:

"early aughts" Yes!!!!! I love when people say things like I say them! lol. It's not the early "two thousands", it's the early aughts! And I loved that I lost everything I had track, what a beautiful voice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Digging the show so far! I'm doing some fairly repetitive web work so this is helping me feel human :-)
Avatar 3:50pm spacebrother:

Was that “Roger Roger” the same one who did “Cuac Cuac?”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Webhamster Henry:

"RoZHAY RoZHAY", please!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 4:06pm Archivist Vivian:

Jan, this is really great stuff!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Rich in Washington:

Loved your segment, AV! Neil Dick is amazing! I also never heard of Dan Knudsen before!
Avatar 4:07pm Archivist Vivian:

This makes me want to share some of the weird finds I've dug out of the online cylinder archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Otis Fodder:

I really love the live setting of playing with the mic picking up the backdrop, it's like I'm there hanging out, close my eyes and all and drift away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Fab stuff from you, Jan! :-)
Avatar 4:07pm Archivist Vivian:

I am in contact with Neil Dick! I'm seeing if he'll send me any demo tapes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Jan Turkenburg:

Thank you Viv.
Avatar 4:08pm Archivist Vivian:

Dan Knudsen is such a pure, genuine soul.
Avatar 4:08pm Katya Oddio:

Lucky me! I've had the honor of chilling at Jan's place with his pets while Jan drops the needle on track after track. I'm a broken record, but I'd love to get all these folks in one place on this planet for a massive party one of these days.
  4:08pm Fortyone:

Hi new people, Katya and everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Rich in Washington:

That was fun, Jan!
Avatar 4:09pm Katya Oddio:

Fortyone!!! Hey, man!

Wow, I wanna hang out! I'll bring food!
Avatar 4:09pm Archivist Vivian:

I'll bring tea!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Rich in Washington:

Is Neil still doing music? I've played tons off of his Future CD on my shows for years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, come over, everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Rich in Washington:

WOW! This is amazing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm planning an Amsterdam trip later this year ... might have to meet Jan for a coffee! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Otis Fodder:

Wonderful Rigby Collage!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar 4:11pm Archivist Vivian:

Rich, I don't know, he is about 72 and is still active in going to events for the LGBT community. I've been talking to him a bit, trying to get an interview in order.
Avatar 4:11pm Katya Oddio:

Otis, was your wedding like that? Did you get folks from all the gangs there? Sorry we couldn't join you for that celebration. I imagined WFMU, Exotica, California, and Seattle friends there.
Avatar 4:11pm Archivist Vivian:

If I wasn't a poor broke gay college graduate I'd come visit everyone and bring my keyboard so we can play keyboards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Otis Fodder:

A few people came up, yes. Was a lot of fun!!
Avatar 4:12pm Katya Oddio:

Georgina, maybe you will get to meet Marco and Ton, too. Ton was running a marathon off in Ireland when we were there, and Marco was busy.
Avatar 4:12pm Archivist Vivian:

Everyone is welcome here in New York.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Otis Fodder:

Love when friends visit Montreal and I get to put on my tour guide cap!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Rich in Washington:

Fantastic segment, Jan!
Avatar 4:13pm Archivist Vivian:

Thanks for the great segment, Jan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar 4:13pm Katya Oddio:

Vivian, hi there! Before the shindig, we will have to get a group fund started for friends living on tight budgets.
Avatar 4:14pm Archivist Vivian:

If someone could help me sell my theremin, that'd be a big help, haha. I don't use it.
  4:14pm Fortyone:

Yep, nice stuff Jan I was dancing around a bit as I attended to something
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Jan Turkenburg:

Thank you everyone. Really means a lot to me!
Avatar 4:17pm Archivist Vivian:

You've all got such personality! My segment sounded like a high school student reading off of cue cards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Jan Turkenburg:

I guess this means I can start using my old grammophone for the fill-in shows :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

You're a star, Jan! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Jan Turkenburg:

No, I really enjoyed your segment, Viv!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Rich in Washington:

I too really dug your segment, Vivian. I hope you do more. No one likes to hear themselves on the air, yet here we all are!
  4:20pm Martinibomb:

Loving the show today. Nice work everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Webhamster Henry:

Hey Krys O, former WFMU DJ!
Avatar 4:20pm Katya Oddio:

Met Rick Prelinger last week! So cool! It's pronounced Pray-Ling-Er. I've been getting it wrong all these years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Rich in Washington:

Oh man! I'm loving this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Jan Turkenburg:

Otis, this is such a good concept!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Webhamster Henry:

My old phone number was like Kate's Art Supply, I talked to a lot of artists!
Avatar 4:21pm Archivist Vivian:

Oh! I bought a cassette full of voice mails sent to a guy who sells/collects records from the 1950s.
  4:21pm Fortyone:

I enjoyed Viv's segment as well, I love the voice of Di and I love Viv's voice too.
Avatar 4:22pm Archivist Vivian:

Di is magic. I'm so upset the guys who own the tape won't release her other songs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Rich in Washington:

This is brilliant!
Avatar 4:22pm Archivist Vivian:

Thank you for the compliments of my lispy, anxious twentysomething voice.
Avatar 4:22pm spacebrother:

This is amazing. My wife used to get calls for Slash from Guns and (or n') Roses because her name is similar (S. Hudson.) We're still looking for her tape of the saved messages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Rich in Washington:

I'll bet they're hilarious, spacebrother!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Otis Fodder:

Viv - You sounded great!
SpaceB - Oh wow, I hope you find those messages!
Avatar 4:24pm Katya Oddio:

Greg, are you the same spacebrother who had an amazing music blog way back?
Avatar 4:24pm Archivist Vivian:

I hope she got some weird messages from wannabes who sent demos.
Avatar 4:25pm Archivist Vivian:

You know, like Ron Griffon and Your Love Is Real.
Avatar 4:25pm spacebrother:

I think so. It was called Music/ Not music. It's still up, but Ihaven't posted in years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Jan Turkenburg:

Reminds me of a show segment I did for Radio Haarlem in the 1980s. People who where organizing things, concerts, exhibitions and even the AA, could announce events by phone. I must have at least one hor of it on cassette. Only thing... it's all in Dutch of course...
Avatar 4:26pm Katya Oddio:

Rock. Thanks for hooking us all up with interesting sounds! This guest segment collection is a freakin great idea. Loving this. Will have to stream from the archive for the pre-Jan sets.
Avatar 4:26pm spacebrother:

There were two Swedish girls who called many times, who were amazing. Also a guy from Canada who said "Slash, dude, if this is really you please call me back, eh? I PROMISE I WON'T TELL ANYONE that it's really you.":
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Otis Fodder:

Katya - Yay!
Avatar 4:28pm Katya Oddio:

Kramer: "Why don't you just TELL me the name of the movie you would like to see?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

For anyone who's missed sections of shows, I put up a weekly archive collection post on the Sheena's Jungle Room Facebook Group. Catch up with your favourites and never miss a second! :-)
Avatar 4:30pm Archivist Vivian:

That's incredible, Spacebrother.
Avatar 4:31pm Archivist Vivian:

Thanks, GeorgyGirl :D I'll have to join that group.
Avatar 4:31pm spacebrother:

A valuable service. Thank you, Georgy!

You're all very welcome :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Otis Fodder:

Hats off to Georgy Girl!
Avatar 4:33pm Archivist Vivian:

It's too bad that Betty guessed wrong. But to quote an amateur movie I was in at age 11 in 2006, "Can't be right all the time".
Avatar 4:35pm Archivist Vivian:

OMG! I should make a Friendly Persuaders song too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Otis Fodder:

Oh please do, please do, please do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... biscuits
Avatar 4:36pm Archivist Vivian:

Short, minimal keyboard ballad or miniature ukulele jamboree?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Jan Turkenburg:

ukulele HAS to be a part of it, Viv!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Otis Fodder:

Viv - Up to you. I never direct, just receive.

My favorite AZ rekkid store just closed down. Selfish bastards, and with my birthday just around the corner. The nerve. Man, so sorry to see another one fall. They made living far from NYC a lot easier. :(

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Katya Come back to England! I promise not to get sick this time!
Avatar 4:40pm Archivist Vivian:

I'll be going to NYC on sunday for a date. 2019 has offered a lot of goodness.
Avatar 4:40pm Archivist Vivian:

Even though I want to leave the country so badly, you're all welcome here in New York. We'll have a cassette/tea party.
  4:40pm Fortyone:

hey Viv, the theremin might be apt. Hey Katya, you live in AZ, I'm jealous... I think that's the weather for me...
Avatar 4:42pm Archivist Vivian:

Drew's music is so pure. It makes me happy. I want to listen to it while walking in the park.
Avatar 4:42pm Katya Oddio:

Vivian, we lived in the Bronx, Upstate, and in Westchester and Duchess couties. Miss those spots. Be sure to get in touch when you make it out this way, Viv, and we will light up the firepit and pour the drinks!
Avatar 4:42pm spacebrother:

Katya, where are you in AZ?
Avatar 4:43pm spacebrother:

I'll be in PHX in September, I think.
Avatar 4:43pm Katya Oddio:

Ah, 41. Getting the comment feed mixed up. Tucson, SB. The shop was Revolver Records in Phoenix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Rich in Washington:

  4:44pm Martinibomb:

I'm here still a little green
Avatar 4:44pm spacebrother:

I have friends in Tucson, too. Will bother you closer to the trip.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm Jan Turkenburg:

How are you holding up MB?
Avatar 4:45pm Katya Oddio:

That good friend coffee table is AWFUL. Caning under glass? Knobs on te corners? Knobby legs? Class it up, 1980s. C'mon!
Avatar 4:45pm Archivist Vivian:

The one person identified on a mysterious tape I bought lives in Tuscon, AZ.
Avatar 4:46pm spacebrother:

I found some great records in that store. There was a great one in Tucson too, as I remember, but that was over 10 years ago.
Avatar 4:46pm Archivist Vivian:

Otis, is this you singing?
Avatar 4:46pm Katya Oddio:

Eric, I am laughing out loud, you nut! Check in then, spacebrother!
  4:46pm Fortyone:

I was thinking the same thing Viv
  4:46pm Martinibomb:

Lol no it's me
Avatar 4:46pm Archivist Vivian:

Appreciating the Klaus Nomi vibes. I covered this one too.

Avatar 4:47pm spacebrother:

Nice tune and slick singing.
  4:47pm Martinibomb:

Yeah I have tons of stuff so I threw a bunch of random sketch's in
Avatar 4:48pm spacebrother:

Katya, I can't remember the name of the place. It's probably one of those. I'd know it if I saw it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm Otis Fodder:

No, I don't sing. Unless there is the promise of karaoke in a dive bar with cheap booze on a blue moon.
Avatar 4:49pm Archivist Vivian:

Katya, a girl named Katya drew my profile picture here. It's used on an album I did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Jan Turkenburg:

I really like it. You should include more in Medium Cool.
Avatar 4:49pm Archivist Vivian:

Not you Katya, another Katya. Unless this is Katya from Moscow.
Avatar 4:49pm Archivist Vivian:

Otis, you should go all Cedar Point Jim on us.
  4:50pm Martinibomb:

Thanks Jan!
Avatar 4:50pm Katya Oddio:

Hey MB, are you still in touch with Jason the Coconut Monkeyrocket? Love the sense of audio humor you two share. Dahlink Viv, da, Katya veery popoolar nom.
Avatar 4:50pm Archivist Vivian:

Katya, other Katya told me the same thing, haha
Avatar 4:51pm Archivist Vivian:

The song is reflecting my feelings right now. I've got to have some too.
  4:51pm Martinibomb:

@kat yeh tho don't hear from him as much as I used to. He's close to finishing a new alnal
Avatar 4:51pm Katya Oddio:

I noticed your Привет earlier. Vyi govoritze?
Avatar 4:52pm Katya Oddio:

Alright! A new alnal!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Otis Fodder:

This is like the prelude/sampler mix to Martinibomb's upcoming "Piano Bar" on his show Medium Cool every Wed here in Sheena's lounge.
Avatar 4:53pm Archivist Vivian:

I know very minimal Russian. But I have a lot of Russian friends, mainly due to a music project I have. Someone had me join VK and I became friends with a lot of Russian and Ukranian people. I had one of them translate a chorus I wrote to Russian on a recent album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Otis Fodder:

MB - Channeling Friend Computer?
Avatar 4:53pm Archivist Vivian:

Also, I'm friends with a huge amount of Russian Tiny Tim fans. So awesome!
Avatar 4:54pm Katya Oddio:

MB, guy, you are too much! Loving this!
Avatar 4:55pm Archivist Vivian:

Yeah, I'm having a lot of fun listening to this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Otis Fodder:

WFMU is most certainly a land where Tiny Tim is loved!
  4:55pm Martinibomb:

@otis yeah it's a friend computer track I never really finished a cover a la bionda track called hey woman
Avatar 4:56pm Archivist Vivian:

MB, Do you have a place I can listen to your stuff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Otis Fodder:

Share the Friend Computer link MB. So good.
Avatar 4:56pm Archivist Vivian:

If I had a car (and a driver's license) I'd listen to this while driving.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm gonna carry on listening while working. See everyone later! great show, Otis.
  4:58pm Martinibomb:

@viv not really u can find something's on freemusic archives.. comfort stand, soundclouS
Avatar 4:58pm Katya Oddio:

Went to look at a car a guy was selling at his father's house. The son was there to translate, I guess, because they started chatting about what NOT to tell us about the vehicle. In Russian. I interupted to ask in Russian where they were from and explained our ancestral homes and why we prefered the desert. They laughed and tested my language skills. Turned out to be a fun visit, but a crap car. No sale. We don't hear much Eastern European out here in the Southwest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm Otis Fodder:

Avatar 5:02pm Archivist Vivian:

Cheers. My Bandcamp is where most of my stuff is, also.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Otis Fodder:

Fortyone you are up next!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Webhamster Henry:

Ahh - A better version of What A Fool Believes.
  5:04pm Fortyone:

Ah! oh dear, bit nervous, first time I've recorded my voice and talked like that on anything...
Avatar 5:05pm Katya Oddio:

VIv, LOL @Music for Sad Cunts! LOL
Avatar 5:05pm spacebrother:

Much better version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Otis Fodder:

Yep, I was just thinking that too. Don't need the original, just Aretha's version.
Avatar 5:05pm Katya Oddio:

Absolutely, Henry. McDonald, ack, Franklin, oh yeah
Avatar 5:06pm spacebrother:

Is this the "On The Moon Right Now" Fortyone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Jan Turkenburg:

@Vivian ... wow... that's a lot!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Otis Fodder:

Kevin Sukho Lee.. was in the awesome band Seksu Roba on Crippled Dick Hot Wax. :)
  5:06pm Fortyone:

spacebrother, yes it is
Avatar 5:07pm Archivist Vivian:

@Katya Music For Sad Cunts was not a name picked in a humourus way, contrary to popular belief. Though it is viewed as a very bad word here in the US, I use it like an Aussie.
Avatar 5:07pm Don-O:

JUST in time for 'Retha!
Avatar 5:08pm Archivist Vivian:

I use it for friends, people in general, in friendly, neutral, or negative ways.
Avatar 5:08pm Archivist Vivian:

Welcome to the fun, Don-O!
Avatar 5:08pm Katya Oddio:

OMG THAT Kevin?! I LOVE Seksu Roba. Still have their CDs. Lurve.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm Otis Fodder:

Don-O ... great Venice Beach Segment!! Xanadu will play today too! YES!
Avatar 5:09pm Archivist Vivian:

OOOh. Love me some 80s Japanese pop.
  5:09pm Fortyone:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Otis Fodder:

Remaning lineup after Kevin is: Fortyone, Don-O, Archivist Viv
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Otis! I'm about to email you, so once the show is over, go look!
Avatar 5:10pm Archivist Vivian:

Still really sad that one of my favourite Japanese vocalists, Junko Ohashi, was diagnosed with cancer. She's been active since the late 70s.
Avatar 5:10pm Katya Oddio:

Otis, weren't you behind the Xanadu fan site years ago?
Avatar 5:10pm spacebrother:

Fortyone, I have been a fan for years. Yeah!
Avatar 5:10pm Don-O:

I do hope it ti' fun. I'd jump in earlier but we had a power outage related to the tankless water heater that cost 4,000 dollars. Ouch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Otis Fodder:

Katya - I was Don-O's stage assistant. He was the magician.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm Otis Fodder:

Oh wow, sorry to hear D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm Jan Turkenburg:

ouch indeed...
Avatar 5:11pm Don-O:

Fortyone: Good old Ted Hawkins.
  5:11pm Fortyone:

spacebrother, awesome! up to 44 albums now... they say I'm prolific, ha.
Avatar 5:12pm Archivist Vivian:

I think I have over 80 albums out, not including the ones no longer available due to me not linking them?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Otis Fodder:

Everyone, you can find Fortyone at, 41music.net

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Jan Turkenburg:

See you Kat!
Avatar 5:13pm Don-O:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Otis Fodder:

See ya Kat!! Cool travels!
Avatar 5:14pm Katya Oddio:

Will keep listening to you wonderful nuts! Ah, there it is Don! Cool! Fun to hear Fortyone on the show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Jan Turkenburg:

@41, i notice I have a lot of catching up to do! :-)
  5:14pm Fortyone:

definitely want to check out more Ted Hawkins, hope there's more. Don-O, aw thank you that's awesome to know! See ya kat
Avatar 5:14pm Don-O:

BTW, Barry 'The Lion' Gordon and Harry Perry will return in one of my future shows.
  5:15pm Martinibomb:

This track is cool totally missed it back in the day
Avatar 5:16pm Archivist Vivian:

I'm in love with this song. This is so amazing.
Avatar 5:16pm Don-O:

There are more CDs that came out after Ted passed away: Songs From Venice Beach, More Songs From Venice Beach and The Final Tour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Rich in Washington:

This is a fantastic set, Fortyone!
  5:20pm Martinibomb:

@41 this set is so up my alley yet I've never played any of these tunes
  5:21pm Fortyone:

thank you guys! it's official I hate my voice, but thank you! great tunes i've loved for years
  5:21pm Smooth Ian:

Avatar 5:22pm Archivist Vivian:

It's Ian!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Jan Turkenburg:

No, you must keep talking 42. Like said before: everybody hates his/her own voice. I love this, man!
Avatar 5:23pm Don-O:

Fortyone: Don't worry about the voice part, wait util you hear mine. Yours will sound like Orson Wells compared to mine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm Otis Fodder:

Everybody thinks they sound weird on the mic or like crap. Color me included.
Avatar 5:23pm Archivist Vivian:

Yeah, we all hate our own voices. My voice has been described as a combination between Daffy Duck and Jennifer Tilly.
  5:23pm Fortyone:

aw thank you Jan! and Don-O! and @Viv, I'm in love with that "If You'll Agree" trackt oo, wish I had the info on it...
  5:24pm Martinibomb:

We all feel that way about our voices 41. A voice is very personal thing. I liked your voice
Avatar 5:24pm Archivist Vivian:

My voice was also compared to Sarah Vowell, but I don't mind that comparison. (Speaking voice I mean)
Avatar 5:24pm Archivist Vivian:

Fortyone, what movie is it from? I can try to hunt it down.
  5:24pm Fortyone:

Thank ya MB! I think it's from "Idiocracy"
Avatar 5:25pm Archivist Vivian:

I'll go do a searching adventure later.
Avatar 5:25pm Don-O:

For a minute there, I thought it was the version heard on the American Splendor OST.
  5:27pm Fortyone:

I love the emotion and power in those "ooooooooioioo"s...
Avatar 5:29pm Don-O:

You're playing my Xanadu section?! Glad Mr. Fab is away so we Fanadus can play out loud!
Avatar 5:29pm Archivist Vivian:

This is magic.
  5:30pm Fortyone:

that would be tremendous if you could find any info about that song Viv! It was one of three that I found on the band's personal website, the others are instrumentals, so many years ago, and can't remember any band name or anything and can't find anything whenever I've tried to look. Thanks again for comments on my set everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Otis Fodder:

Oh Astro, free download - illegalart.net...
Avatar 5:31pm Archivist Vivian:

The voice is like shaved ice. That may not make sense.
  5:31pm Fortyone:

Avatar 5:32pm Don-O:

I just hear a 37 minute "remix" of the original recording of Xanadu on Bandcamp. That track was creepier than my 45-minute remix called Endless Xanadu. My version was to have been an hour but I chickened out after 45 minutes.
Avatar 5:33pm Archivist Vivian:

Is it this Xanadu? www.abandonedfl.com...
Avatar 5:34pm Don-O:

Xanadu in Florida. Freakin' Florida
Avatar 5:37pm spacebrother:

I just hate my “umm”s and “uhh”s and “ya know”s. Spend hours editing those out.
Avatar 5:38pm Don-O:

So.....I'll be on THREE times today! Looks like I'll be in 'FMU Jail for pushing my luck....especially for the Xanadu stuff.
Avatar 5:38pm Archivist Vivian:

I hate my lisp.
Avatar 5:39pm Don-O:

Hey, Otis. Do you think this will break Mr. Fab into letting us do a, say 4 hour Xana-thon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Otis Fodder:

I want to do the 24-hour Xanadu marathon.
Avatar 5:40pm Don-O:

spacebrother: I try to edit out the Umms and Uhhs as I can out of my show without sounding like a robot.
Avatar 5:40pm Don-O:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Jan Turkenburg:

Greg and Don, don't spent hours on that!
  5:41pm Fortyone:

It's Xxxaaannnaaaddduuu!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Jan Turkenburg:

only edit the worst three or so out in a whole show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Otis Fodder:

I record my bits live and cringe at all my ummms.
Avatar 5:42pm Don-O:

"Worl-DA" "StaR-R" "XanadU-WA"
Avatar 5:42pm Don-O:

The gleee club pronunciation makes this track golden!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Jan Turkenburg:

uhms are fear of silence. The moment you allow yourself to be silent you'll start uhmming less and less
Avatar 5:43pm Archivist Vivian:

Should I watch Xanadu?
Avatar 5:43pm Don-O:

Well, I try not edit too much but enough so my ego can relax enough without driving nuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Jan Turkenburg:

And research (this is sooo good by the way) shows that Uhmmms have a function in language
  5:45pm Smooth Ian:

Archivist Viv!
Avatar 5:45pm Archivist Vivian:

Ooh. This segment I recorded is secretly named "Fun Fun Fun 'til T-Bird Takes Her Dad Away". It's just the file name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Jan Turkenburg:

they actually give the listener a chance to catch breath too, really. DON'T FEAR THE UHMMMM!!!
Avatar 5:45pm Archivist Vivian:

Ian, It's the podcast creamyboy's song playing now!
Avatar 5:46pm Archivist Vivian:

This is my friend Smooth Ian. He's Ian, and he's smooth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Jan Turkenburg:

I like it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Smooth Ian! So it was the one chance at love and it was a Bad Date, oh nooooo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Otis Fodder:

I dig it Ian.
Avatar 5:48pm Archivist Vivian:

It sure was. If we do more segments in the future, besides the third one I made, I'll include more Bad Date.
  5:48pm Un Smooth Ian:

I am Un Smooth Ian, enemy of Smooth Ian, and I hate that guy.
Avatar 5:49pm Don-O:

You should watch Xanadu. Just don't expect much. It's boringly bad with flashes to keep your interests up...but it's not over-the-top bad like The Apple. You have been warned.
Avatar 5:49pm Archivist Vivian:

Okay, I'll watch it tonight.
Avatar 5:49pm Don-O:

The rusty days of Dr. D, the 4-hour KMET-FM local version!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Rich in Washington:

God. I totally forgot about this song!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Otis Fodder:

Have a movie night and watch "Xanadu" backed with "Can't Stop The Music". Preferably with wine and others.
Avatar 5:50pm Archivist Vivian:

It'll probably be me by myself having Irish Cream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Jan Turkenburg:

This is good, as well. I coverd the Pinball Wizzard myself and it is NOT easy!!!
Avatar 5:51pm Archivist Vivian:

My glorious Damaskas is playing on WFMU <3 So happy.
Avatar 5:51pm Archivist Vivian:

Jan, I've tried it too. I can't play it to save my life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Jan Turkenburg:

Well, I let someone else do the guitar part ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Jan Turkenburg:

then I can get the singing just about adequate
  5:53pm Fortyone:

it reminds me of something... I don't know what. Something good.
Avatar 5:54pm Archivist Vivian:

Avatar 5:54pm Don-O:

'Dick On Fire'! A future band title!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Jan Turkenburg:

And Viv, your voice is more than ok!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Jan Turkenburg:

talking bout personality...
Avatar 5:55pm Don-O:

Ummm, I know I'm pushing my luck here, but does anybody have a MP3 copy of The Apple and Can't Stop The Music OST!? I have this pointless impulse to complete my late 70's soundtrack collection. Forgive Me!
  5:55pm Fortyone:

great voice and great energy from Viv
Avatar 5:56pm Archivist Vivian:

Don-O, I'll find it for you.
Avatar 5:56pm Don-O:

You're not tripping over your words. You ARE a professional!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Rich in Washington:

Wow! This is epic!
Avatar 5:58pm Archivist Vivian:

When my friend compared my music to this band, I was so flattered.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks everyone for listening and to the DJs for selecting the sounds today!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Jan Turkenburg:

Three hours of inspiring radio lab. We want more, Otis!

Avatar 5:59pm Archivist Vivian:

I really enjoyed this. I'd love to do more future segments.
  6:00pm Fortyone:

Thank you Otis! And thanks to everyone else as well! This was fun I'll be back next week if I can, and I'd stay tuned for Don-O on this snowy do-nothing day but I gotta go do something, shovel the snow, ha! Cheers everyone!
